Question on Tynion's Detective Comics run

So I just started reading Tynion's run on Detective Comics and have a few questions about characters and continuity; I'm about 8 issues in. Since the start of Rebirth, I've really only read half of Tom King's run so I have some questions on the characters presented in here:

  • Kate as Batwoman - was she introduced prior to this run? They give a lot of backstory so I feel like I'm jumping right in but am totally okay.
  • Robin - Is there a current Robin anywhere? Tim is Red Robin, but where is Damian in this continuity?
  • Barbara Gordon is not in this run, at least not yet, but it doesn't seem like she'll appear - what happened to her as Batgirl/Oracle?
  • Luke Fox as Batwing - I had never heard of this character prior to reading this run; anything I need to know?

I've jumped around a lot the past few years between New 52 and the early 2000s and the 90s so sometimes the different continuities get mixed up in my head. Please try to avoid spoilers if they spoil other post-Tom King stuff, but I guess I don't mind too much since I don't plan on reading much of that. I hear Tynion's main Batman run isn't that great (but I might give it a chance one day).

I could use a nudge

Feels like I’ve tried everything. And this is the mode in the Game Boy version where it doesn’t tell you if you made an error. Thanks!

EDIT: Solved!!

Seems Nightwing/Bludhaven are in the Seinfeld universe

Reading an issue of Nightwing and found this Easter Egg quite funny. All fake movies created by Seinfeld. Wonder which one Dick went to go see.

Dock - best practice while not in use?

Dock just arrived today! Works like a dream.

Now that's it's been many years since its release, I'm wondering what the best practices are for this dock when it comes to charging or leaving the Pocket in the dock for a long time. If I plan to primarily play docked, is it wise to always remove it from power when not in use? What about the pocket just balancing on top of that USB-C for a long time? Is any risk by permanently leaving it on the port outweighed by any damage/scuffs you might entail by constantly removing the Pocket after each play session?

I did look up reddit posts about these, but they're a several years old. Now that the Pocket is over 4.5 years old, I'm wondering if anyone's had any problems with their dock or battery for those of you who have pretty much let it sit on the dock constantly while basically topping off the console at 100% power all the time. I'm personally leaning towards always leaving it on the dock but keeping it unplugged.

Looks like docks are finally shipping soon

Honestly thought they’d push it until the end of June, so I’m pleasantly surprised. Hopefully everyone that wanted one got one a few months ago when they were in stock for awhile. Don’t have to wait much longer!

Check out your Target Circle deals - $15 off $50 in books

I think it’s for everyone (at least everyone who uses Target circle), and omnibuses and compendiums are included! A lot of prices are very competitive compared to places like IST and Amazon.

So if you see a $50-60 book, you can take another $15 off. Or find two $30 compendiums and do it that way. It’s off the total. Obviously save an extra 5% with red card.

Just wanted to throw this out there for people to see. I recently bought by 3rd and 4th ever omnibuses (Gotham Central and Batman Snyder v1) and might have to go to the well ooooone more time this week.

EDIT: YMMV if it appears in your app but it’s worth checking. Looks like my wife just has 20% off books.

PSA: Back up these cartridge battery saves before they die forever

Now that the Analogue 3D has save states, this is a friendly reminder of which cartridges save to a physical coin cell battery in your cart.

These batteries are now over 25 years old and will likely die quite soon, so if you care about them, make sure to create a save state before they conk out!

You can then reload the save state to your cartridge after replacing your battery, or simply never replace the battery and continue to use save states indefinitely!

I’ve read a lot of Batman but only own a couple deluxe editions and one omnibus (Paul Dini). Something I really love is when they put the script for a few pages in the back.

I love when the writer describes the scene in his head in detail panel-by-panel and then you see the artist’s final interpretation of the scene. Something about that process is so interesting to me. And sometimes you learn something about the scene that you hadn’t noticed before without the writer explicitly laying it out for the illustrator.

Anyway, which Batman releases have stuff like this? I think I read that Absolute Court of Owls has the full script to issue #1, but what other books have this feature?
