Confused about the difference in pronunciation between ñ and "ni"

My boyfriend is Mexican (CDMX) and he often says "demonios" as an exclamation when something goes wrong. I had only ever heard it, not seen it written down, and I assumed it was spelled "demoños." So when I was playing the new Tomodachi and it came time to add his Mii's angry phrase, I had him say "demoños."

Well some weeks later I happened fo see demonios written down somewhere and I mentioned to my bf that I was going to have to fix the spelling of his angry phrase. He was immediately confused as to what I meant, and explained that to his ear, "onio" and "oño" sound completely different. He was like, "one is *demoños* and the other is *demonios*." And I was going crazy because I just could not hear the difference at all.

I know this happens in every language where people who aren't native speakers have trouble distinguishing different sounds. But having grown up as a no sabo kid, with a big Chicano family and in an area where I was surrounded by other Chicanos, I thought I at LEAST had a good grasp of the Spanish phoneme. But I guess not? Is it maybe different between dialects? Either way I want to know what I'm missing between the two though 😭

Any way to block all traffic on a particular app when not routing through Meshnet?

I use Meshnet to route my traffic through another computer I have at home, typically while using a certain app. I have the kill switch on for this particular app, but for extra security I'd like to make it so that absolutely no traffic can get through when I'm not specifically connected to that computer. Is there a rule I can set on Windows Firewall? To be clear, I don't want to block all traffic period, but only for this one program.

Any way to make a dot matrix in one part of the page?

I know how to make a dot matrix background using the toggleable gridlines, but I want this dot matrix only on one section of the page. Is there any way to do this, even with a weird workaround?

First time ocular migraine; flashing patterns in left eye blocking part of my vision lasting more than 3 hours

I have a history of pretty low-level migraines (compared to what a lot of others go through). I would occasionally get an aura (or what I understand to be an aura), but it would just consist of small floating lights in my vision and after-images lasting several seconds longer than they should. Rarely was this ever not accompanied at some point by the pain. But today is very different, and I'm getting worried. Every 30 minutes or so this large flashing field of some pattern starts creeping in on my left eye and blocks out a good portion of my vision. I'm also having trouble physically focusing at all times. It feels like anything in my periphery kinda fades out while focusing on one thing, so when it comes time to look over at something else, I have trouble locating it with my eyes and it takes a few tries. I know all of this is in line with an ocular migraine from what I've been reading, but I'm really worried about the fact that it's been 3+ hours with no improvement, nor any pain on EITHER side of my head. From my understanding, these symptoms shouldn't last more than an hour. Anyone else experienced this for so long?

Does anyone know what happened to Miríadax?

It was a pretty well-known Spanish-language website that offered a lot of open online courses, some paid and some free. I had my eye on a few of them but last I went to check, the website was completely gone and there is ZERO information anywhere online about what happened. I can only find a mentioned of its supposed closing in 2025 here: https://formaciononline.eu/miriadax/ but that's literally it. I can't even find any mention from other self-learners/students. Which is crazy because it's an entire website just gone, poof, and I would imagine a lot of learners' data along with it. Does anyone know anything about this?

[TOMT][APP] Old app very similar to Skillion for gameifying your life

I used this app around 2016 on Android. It was for "gameifying" your everyday tasks as well as small daily challenges for enriching yourself. Some specific examples I remember include "Watch a movie from before 1945," and "Have perfect posture for an entire day." They had lists of challenges like this and you could add them onto your tasks for the day.

I found this app called Skillion that seems very similar (the basic premise and the pixel aesthetic), but it's missing that long list of fun side tasks plus a lot of the charm that I remember from this other app. It's possible that the app I used was Skillion, but that it's been enshittified to the point that it's unrecognizable to me now. If anyone has used Skillion for many years and can tell me whether it used to be vastly different, or recognizes what other app I may be talking about, that would be lovely.

Thank you!

DAE feel the overwhelming urge to walk around when they have a fever?

I've always had this issue where I feel like the only way to fix the extreme discomfort that comes with a fever (from the flu, historically) is to get up and pace. It's like there's this horrible ache/itch inside my limbs and I need to satisfy it by moving. It does indeed feel better when I'm walking, but it's really not good for me because... your body needs thar energy to fight whatever illness you have, lol. But I'm wondering if anyone else has any idea what I'm talking about. This used to freak out my parents when I was a kid and I've never heard anyone else mention it. It might genuinely just be me

They would use hidden cameras and mics to expose shady practices.

I remember a couple specific episodes. In one, they went to a mechanic with a clean bill of health and the mechanic iirc removed some filter on the car, replaced it with a filthy one, and then showed it to the reporter saying it would need a replacement and that it would cost X amount of money. In another segment, they hired a TV repairman to "fix" their TV (when the issue was just that they had turned the saturation all the way down so it appeared black and white) to see if he would just change it back or if he would pretend it was some complicated fix and overcharge them.

I feel like it might have been an extended segment of a national news show rather than a separate reality show. Either way I just know some of these had to be staged lol. No way they were getting that many hits.

Galaxy S23 Ultra. This started a few days ago and it's rare, but when it happens it screws everything up. I'll be typing and then suddenly when I hit the next key, the phone will copy a random section from what I've typed in that field so far and paste it at least two times at the end, instead of just typing the character I tapped. So for example I could be typing "hey I just finish," and as soon as I hit e, instead of typing e, it'll become "hey I just finishhey I justhey I just." It happened 4 times when writing this paragraph. I've restarted my phone plenty of times since this began and no change. I'm fully updated. I have no idea what's going on.
