Don't update your Brave Browser if you have the jdownloader extension

I just updated my Brave browser (v1.92.134) and they decided they would not allow the jdownloader extension anymore. They won't let me turn it on at all.

Aftermarket Head Unit Question for a 2018

So I recently bought a 2018 SV. It came with an aftermarket head unit on it, but it is crap. It's some weird brand (SJoyBring) and I can't even get my phone to connect over Bluetooth or USB. The one thing I was able to do though is program the steering wheel controls, will swing back to this later.

In searching Crutchfield for new units, one of the suggested purchases is the iDataLink Maestro Interface Module. This is to retain steering wheel controls and it costs $167 plus $71 more for the harness. Apparently on the 2017 you could get away with the Crux Interface for $90, but I have a 2018, dang.

Well I guess my question is ultimately, do I need to get the iDataLink Maestro? Did the previous owner already install one and that is why I have steering wheel controls? Are they universal and I will be able to use it with a better head unit? On a similar note, it has a backup camera on it too, will that be able to work with the new head unit as well? Or should I find a head unit with a new back up camera included?

Thanks

New owner of a 2018 SV Crew Cab

I just bought this truck and I am excited to join the Frontier crew. So this is my first truck since I was in high school. I bought this truck to make my home projects easier and to carry my mountain bikes. I am not soft, but I am in my 40s now and I am looking for ways to upgrade the interior of the truck to give a more "luxury" feeling. I would love to know if anyone else has done things to their Frontier and what they were.

For instance, one thing I am looking into because it was in a previous vehicle is automatic wipers. There is a sensor that goes on the inside of your windshield that sense water landing on the windshield and turns on your wipers automatically. It might seem trivial but you don't realize how much better it is till you never have to touch your wiper lever again.

I also saw that someone took their Frontier and put Volvo seats in the front. I am not sure why they chose Volvo seats and I am not sure which seats are compatible with the Frontier.

Has anyone else made some customization to bring a little more comfort or luxury into your driving?

What Tires?

What Tires are everyone using here? It's a hard area to pin down. So many places have you go through flat grass to go up a steep narrow rooty trail with rocks to go down an equally rooty, rocky trail with some man made obstacles along the way. With it all being completely wet or completely dry depending on the day, with wet leaves or moss as well.

Just curious what tires people are riding on for our area. Thanks

Cassette and Chain Upgrade??

I have the PL Carbon. Not the pro. The XS-1270 and Eagle 70 are a decent cassette and chain combo, but with the power of the Avinox, it's just a matter of time. The good news with these is they are fairly inexpensive for what they are.

What are others upgrading to? Is it worth the cost? Meaning are you getting enough longer life to warrant the additional cost?

I'm considering upgrading the rear wheel to get a bomb proof hub, so feel free to give recommendations that aren't necessarily HG hub mounts.

Noob Chain Waxer who could use some guidance

I went through and took my chain off the bike and did the whole cleaning and dipping process. Now it's how do I maintain it?

First I want to preface that this is an eMTB so I want to ensure I take as good of care for my chain as possible because of the additional torque. The other issue is I live in Vermont. I have been on about a dozen rides this season over the past month and a half. Every single one was muddy and required me to clean my bike.

My current process has been this. Hose Spray the entire bike, including the chain and drivetrain. Cover my disc brakes. Put an ounce or so of simple green in a bucket and spray water into it. Then I use a soft bristle brush to lightly scrub the entire bike including the rear and front sprocket but not the chain. I then hose spray the bike clean and do the bike drop to get the water off the bike. I then use a rag to dry the suspension and dropper seat post. I then wipe the chain dry. I then spray some iso on the brakes and drip lube the chain with White Lightning Clean Ride.

Is this a good starting point? Any recommendations? Am I going overkill on anything?

Wax is expensive but cheap as well if it means better life out of my chain and drive train. One of the reasons I chose the White Lightning was because of it's affordability. Thanks for letting me ramble, and I am always willing to listen to new ideas or suggestions.

I have a silver mountain bike with all black components, like everything is black. I am going to add some accent color to it. I don't need help on choosing the color, I have it down to 2 and will decide once I find what can be accomplished with the specific components I want.

My question is the shading of the accent color I choose. Lets say I choose Purple, there are lots of shades of purple and I am sure different components won't have the same shades. Will it look funny? Lets say I got some lighter purple pedals and then my grips were a darker purple. Will that look funny? Or will it be basically a nothing burger because its so spaced out on the whole bike that is silver and black?

Sorry I know this is a weird question but I am wondering if anyone has gone through this and has any suggestions or advice. Also, I plan on getting those colored stickers for your forks, any recommendation on which company to go with? Thanks

I recently bought a PL and it came with the small, nifty little deflection style torque wrench. I already have a couple decent torque wrenches in my garage that I will use for regular routine maintenance. I was thinking of putting it in my tool kit that I ride with considering it's so small and light. However, I'm not sure how to store it to keep the deflection arm safe. Maybe wrap it in bubble wrap and put it in a tool pouch? Small cardboard box? Just curious if anyone else has done this or has suggestions.
