Painting frame

Looking into Amflow PR Pro as my first e-MTB.
I will most likely purchase in the next 2 to 4 weeks and I will be purchasing from a local dealer.

Does the kit arrive semi pre-assembled? I’d like to know because I prefer purchasing bikes with a frame that’s ready to paint. Does anybody know if this is an option?

Thanks

Frame Warranty

How good is the Amflow frame warranty process? I have had to replace frames on a Transition and Santa Cruz and the process is incredibly easy and painless. My biggest concern buying a new name in the market is the warranty.

How big a deal is the weight limit?

I’m 6’ and hover between 220-230lbs. I pretty much ride all single track, 1-3 hrs a session, 2-3x a week. No jumping but will hit most of the drops and most black diamond trails. Not super fast and not a lot of climbing here in Florida. I know the limit for the PR carbon is 275 lbs and with my camelback I’m right at that limit most days. Is that a bit too much for this frame? I’d love to have it but 5k on a bike I’m going to be hard on weight wise, day in and day out on makes me leery.

Amflow px or Specialized turbo levo alloy comp

Has anyone got any hands on experience with both the Amflow px and the Specialized turbo levo alloy comp. How do they compare? I have ridden both in carpark but that doesn't really give a good comparison. Both have dealers an hour away from me. Levo is around £700 less.

Amflow PL Carbon or PR Carbon

Hello Community!

I am currently in the market for either one of these bikes. I can get the PL at a very similar price as the new PR Carbon.

As this will be my first e-mtb I can not really decide if the old model is still worth it when compared to the new PR.

Any help in deciding is really appreciated!

Thanks:)

Anybody have a work around to de-restrict an amflow.

I’ve had no issues up until today, set my vpn to New Zealand pair the bike, away you go 28mph. Doesn’t seem to be working anymore. I’ve tried unpairing, setting vpn to Hong Kong while using 5g. Turned off my location services. Deleted all data from the bike screen. Still no joy. Anybody with a work around would be appreciated.

Mini rant about weight weenie-ing EMTBs

I do love me a lightweight mountain bike, and have done silly things including titanium bolts and stupid low spoke counts to get a mountain bike really light. So I get it.

But even on a non-motorized MTB, you can go overboard getting the bike lighter. The Cardinal sin in the weight weenie pursuit, imo, is putting light weight, thin walled, low tread tires on a bike that has a good amount of travel. I did this to to an Ibis Ripmo, and it was just dumb. If I rode anything that used more than half its travel it rode terribly - bouncy, unstable, slippery. Once I figured out the error in my ways and got back to DHR2 level tires, the bike felt like itself again.

The upsides of the lighter tires were faster rolling, less drag and quicker spin up, all of which might be justifiable on a Non-Motorized mountain bike in given situations. But I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would put tires like Aspens or Rekons on EMTB's like the Amflows. The motor easily and completely takes care of the added watts necessary to overcome the extra drag and slower spin up of sticky rubber with more stable sidewalls. And the bike rides twice as well with tires aggressive enough to match its full capability. And this is true even if you are not pushing the limit. What's more, it makes you a better rider having tires that you trust more - you learn better, more committed technique instead of dancing around the danger points in your lean.

Can say similar things about ultra lightweight saddles, pedals and grips. They make the scale say nice things, but they ride like garbage and make the experience overall worse. Makes absolutely no sense to me on EMTB other than people just get sucked down a competitive consumerism sinkhole scheming and researching and shopping online. It's fun in the garage at the scale, but out in the real world with a bike that has a darn motor in it, nothing but downside for no good reason.

Okay, end of rant. I know it seemed strident, but of course if weight weenie-ing a high power EMTB makes you happy, then, I suppose, enjoy.
