I just finished the series finale and I wonder what the future of some of the characters would be.

I really dislike Mara. I didn't like her from the start. She was whiny, somewhat manipulative (with Shane) and seemed generally unpleasant. I'd mention she was borderline racist, but she was with Shane so that is sort of built in.

I didn't like Asceveda either. He started off looking like a standup guy, but I guess you have to get slime on your hands to be a politician.

I don't know how promotions and all that go in any real Police Department, but it seems pretty haphazard on the show.

I can understand why Billings got to be Captain...he was jellyfish that the higher ups wanted, but aren't there other qualifications?

It might be because I'm used to military stuff. (retired army). You have to qualify for it and go to OCS before you get to an officer.

I'm not here to nitpick the show, I just want to know how realistic Billings being made captain is.

I find this commercial dumber than the other ones with the awkward families talking about their food.

This is a double hate.

First, these obviously AI tia chi ads are pissing me off. If I blocked it I obviously do not want to see it. Throwing it in my face is not my gonna make me change my mind. Hell, it's like the guy that rang my bell last week to try to get me to switch internet providers. After I told him I WAS NOT INTERESTED this jackass kept talking. At least until I had to tell him point blank "LEAVE" and shut the door.

Second-- why does Youtube even have the block feature if it's not going to work? I get it, I know they want the ad money, but I'm never gonna do business with these "companies" and I will actively hate the fuck outta them for annoying me.

I guess there should be a 3rd point...someone is falling for this BS else they wouldn't do it. If you fell for this crap, YOU'RE THE PROBLEM.

Why does Beavis hang out with Butthead? Butthead treats him like crap and has even said a few times "He's not my friend".

I know Beavis isn't very smart, but even he must get sick of being treated that way.

I think we all hate the plexaderm "look at this eye bags! They're gone" ad, but I just saw an entire commercial with singing and cuts from the ad. The song was so goddamned awful I needed a drink.

Does the NCPD wear bodycams? It seems like most cops IRL wear them (and thats a good thing) but in Night City?

If you play a cop in CR you're probably gonna do some dirty stuff (unless you're trying to be a "Dudley Do-Right kinda cop). If they can fit a camera into an eyeball, they can certainly make bodycams really easy to wear. But would they?

This commercial airs way too much....and it's so bland. It's not "bad", it's just so bland.

Generic looking "mom" with totally generic kid (who is faking doing homework with nary a book in sight.) in a kitchen so fake they could have just projected one on a green screen. Hell, they could have used mine, at least there's a knife block with utensils, a toaster and a loaf of bread there.

Has anyone ever had a character go cyberpsycho? If the RAW say once you drop in empathy too low your character is basically an NPC and goes bananas. I was just wondering if anyone has ever had that happen or seen it in a game.

I mean, cyberpunk is a pretty brutal game. I remember back in the old 2020 days the GM (who was a friend of mine) told us all to roll up a backup character because this was not DnD and once you buy the farm you ain't coming back. He wasn't kidding. Halfway through the campaign my character was shot in the head because I was way too cocky in a situation.

So just interested in the cyberpsycho thing. If it's happened I think it would be interesting.

This might be a silly thing to ask but I wanted to know if anyone else got the reference for "Dewey, Cheatum and Howe" accountants in the Night City 2045 DLC.

I wonder how many other little nuggets are in these books that are nods to other things.

This is probably a long shot, but are there any noob friendly PBP groups to join?

I have asked this before about 2 years ago and I actually found a group. We did our session zero on discord and the GM was very helpful in helping us through character creation. It was fun. We as a group did some really great roleplaying (IMO) leading up to embarking on our first mission...

But then the GM just vanished. Didn't respond to messages, and shortly after the discord channel was gone. I contacted some of the other players and they had no idea what happened. Maybe some RL thing happened, I don't know. I just know I was so disappointed I just walked away. But I would like to play, so I'm asking again. Any noob friendly PBP groups around?

I've acquired every free region on the map. How do I take the two regions the baron has? Hire all the mercs and march to them?

Assuming I take his two regions does the game end or do I have to build on them?

I've often wondered why Una isn't a full commander. In one episode she tells Pelia that she outranks her, but Pelia is either a Lt. Commander or a full commander. Meaning they both hold the same rank most likely. Now, I understand that Una might outrank her by position...In my own military career, I've had jobs where I've been over or under command of someone the same rank. I just think it would be easier to make her a full commander, like Riker on TNG.

Is Dr. M'Benga also a LT. Commander, as they have the same insignia? Does Chapel have an actual rank even if it's provisional (like the Maquis crew members on Voyager)?

Does La'an outrank Spock? She acts a XO when Una is unavailable. I'm just trying to get the pecking order down in my head.

In TOS it was Kirk/Spock/Scotty/Sulu (and sometimes that DeSalle guy, I guess). We know scotty isn't in the top officers in SNW because he's a LT. Junior grade (I assume he'll get promoted during the show's run).

So, in SNW is the order Pike/Una/La'an/Spock or Pelia?
