Can’t tell if meds are working or not. Time to switch?

Started taking Strattera (first time on any meds) in late May, 18mg for a month - and now on 40mg the last couple weeks. I’m struggling with being able to notice a benefit or not.

I definitely felt some small side effects when I first started, slight nausea, light headedness, affecting sleep a little. But those mainly all subsided. Once I got upped to 40mg however that first week was pretty bad. I started having feelings of being depressed again which I haven’t felt in awhile, less sad but moreso a disinterest in everything and very unemotional, numb i guess. I wanted to see it through at least to my next psych appointment to see if anything would change. I’m not feeling too depressed all the time anymore but it does still come on now on random days, and I’ve noticed lately all I’ve wanted to do on my off days is lay in bed and be on my phone. Most things feel super uninteresting now.

But at the same time I feel like my head is a little quieter? I guess I can kind of choose what tasks I need to do and do them a little more frequently than before, but it’s really not a huge difference I don’t think. I’ve heard Strattera is good for helping your focus but you still need to put in the work to start things and get motivation, and right now I feel like my motivation and drive are at a very low point.

Since it’s not even been two full months on this medication I’m not sure if I should try giving it more time or if I should consider trying a new medication. I don’t know why but stimulants are a little intimidating for me, but I’ve heard they work wonders for some people. I just feel like the benefits right now are not outweighing the negatives on my current med.

How is the right medication supposed to make you feel? Any advice or insight would be appreciated thank you!!

I actually hate clothes shopping

The number one thing I hate about being short is the difficulty I have finding anything that fits me. It’s so infuriating wanting new clothes and going to stores just for literally nothing to ever fit me. For context I am 5’0 and 21, so mens smalls are always still big and it’s very rare stores have XS sizes and even then, things still can be a little big.

I have found some success shopping in the kids section of places, but then I run into the issue of limited style. Kids clothes are obviously aimed for kids so it’s rare I can find any mature style clothing that doesn’t have some video game graphic or kid-friendly slogan. I just desperately wish I could shop in the men’s section, there are countless times I see clothes I would love to wear but there would be no universe where I could fit it. I’ve been searching for a leather jacket for years and have yet to find one that isn’t huge on me.

I feel like any of the other options are always super expensive. Buying from places made for shorter men or getting things altered all the time are just things I can’t afford unfortunately. I do try and go thrifting as well but still have a very hard time finding anything in my size let alone something I would wear. I also think 5’0 is an extreme even for short men.

I’m pretty accepting of my height in all other aspects. I have a lovely girlfriend and great friends, but this is the one thing that makes me really hate my height.

Anyone want to go to the Khalid concert tonight?

I was given two tickets to the Khalid concert tonight in Berkeley as my coworker is going out of town but I wasn’t able to find anyone to go with me. I don’t know many Khalid songs but I do like the few I know and I think it will still be fun regardless! But I don’t really want my other ticket to go to waste. It’s all general admission so we don’t even need to hang out during the show, we can just meetup to get inside then part ways! Comment or message your instagram handle or something and I can contact you 🙌🏼 Btw I am 21, trans, and from the bay area although I am not a Berkeley student

Berkeley show first solo concert

hello! i am not a fan per se of Khalid, as I haven’t heard too many of his songs. I only know the relatively popular ones such as love dumb and broke, better, location, and lovely. However I do like these songs and think I would enjoy Khalid I just haven’t really explored his music. With that being said, my coworker offered to give me tickets to the Berkeley show tomorrow because he is going to be out of town, and I accepted because I think live events are fun to go to regardless. I’ve asked several people and I can’t seem to find anyone to go with me so it’s looking like this will also be my first time to a concert alone.

I wanted to make a post to see who’s also attending this show and if maybe I could make some friends there! i’m 21, trans, and from the bay area. i’m a bit of an introvert but i’m always looking for fun things to do! Also maybe drop your favorite Khalid song so I can give some a listen before the show tomorrow :)

21yo ftm looking for hair/general advice!

Mainly want opinions on my hair, I usually end up with a modern mullet until i get tired of it and then cut it short and the cycle repeats.

Also anything else that stands out I should change? I did include some photos without glasses, although I’ve worn glasses since I was 1 and I also feel a bit insecure about my eyes so I think it would be hard to transition to contacts. I’m also only 5’0 so I try to make do by working out and wearing clothes that fit me well.

Not looking for advice with girls as I have a girlfriend, just haven’t been feeling as confident with my looks lately so I want to see what others think I could change :)

First time climbing! Any newbie tips/things you wish you knew?

I’ve been wanting to try climbing for a long time and finally went with a few friends (also first timers) and glad to say we all had a lot of fun! I’d like to go more often, so just wanted to ask for some beginner tips or things you wish you knew. Climbing techniques or anything else about the community or whatnot.

Also I’m 5’0 so anything that may help a shorter climber like myself would be appreciated lol. Thanks!

Question about Strattera

I finally got diagnosed a few days ago at 21. I was prescribed Strattera and have been taking it for 3 days now at bedtime as my doctor said (18mg). And everyday so far I have been waking up before 7am, mind feeling alert right away which is unusual for me, as I usually never wake up before 9am without alarms, and also usually feel tired waking up. At first I thought it was placebo but it’s been 3 days now so just wondering if anyone had a similar experience?

Could use some tips on the perspective of this image as any way I tried to rotate it it seemed like either the ferris wheel or the umbrellas were off.
