Masters in the UK or MBA from New Gen IIM? Where should I go?

I’m currently in a massive dilemma regarding my master's and would love some advice the community.

I have a strong desire to work and experience life abroad at some point in my career. Currently, I’m sitting on a few solid offers and need to make a decision.

Here is what I have on the table:

  • UK Offers: MSc in Supply Chain/Operations from Cranfield and Manchester, plus an MSc Management offer from Leeds.
  • India Offer: MBA convert from a New Generation IIM.

From what I've heard Cranfield and Manchester are good for supply chain, but I keep hearing mixed things about the current UK job market for international students.

  • How is the landscape right now in 2026 for securing a sponsored job in supply chain, logistics, or operations?
  • Are companies actively hiring international grads, or is it a struggle with the current visa climate?

If I decide to stay in India, take the New Gen IIM offer, and build my career here for the next few years, I still want to fulfill my dream of living abroad.

  • Is it realistic to pursue an Executive MBA (or a second MBA) abroad when I’m around 33-34 years old?
  • Do international B-schools look favourably upon candidates who already have an MBA from an Indian institution?
  • Has anyone here taken this route and successfully transitioned abroad later in their career?

TL;DR: Have offers from Cranfield/Manchester/Leeds (MSc) and a New Gen IIM (MBA). I want to work abroad eventually. Should I risk the 2026 UK job market right now for a Supply Chain/Ops MSc, or take the IIM MBA in India and aim for an Exec MBA abroad in my mid-30s?

Any insights, reality checks, or personal experiences would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance! 🙏

Bristol vs Southampton for Msc in microelectronics? Which one to choose?

Hi everyone,

I've received admission offers from both of the aforementioned universities and need to decide between the two.

While Bristol has a higher overall rank (QS 51), my research indicates that Southampton's EEE department has a stronger reputation and is ranked higher than Bristol's for this specific field.

I am really torn on which university to choose. Any insights, personal experiences, or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Microelectronics Systems Design (MSc)

Hi everyone,

I am planning to pursue my Master's in the UK and have received admission offers from a few universities, with the University of Southampton being one of them.

Before making a final decision, I am trying to get a realistic sense of the MSc Microelectronics Systems Design program. If anyone has completed this course, I would love to hear your feedback. I am especially interested in the pedagogy (teaching quality, hands-on lab time, and lecturer expertise), as well as any other relevant insights you can share.

Thank you very much!

I have been offered unconditional admissions to two UK universities. Which one shall I choose?

Hello,

I have been offered admission to two universities, namely University of Bristol and University of Leeds, for an MSc in Microelectronics. I now have to choose between the two and would appreciate the community’s advice regarding this decision.

I have done my research and spoken with professors from IITs and NITs, and they seem to lean toward Bristol. The curriculum there also appears to align better with my goals.

I would now like to know the overall opinions people have about these universities.
