Does loading onto transport use a land units move?

An infantry land unit loads onto a transport to conduct an amphibious assault during a combat move.

Did the land unit (infantry) use its 1 allowed movement by loading onto the transport during the combat phase? Therefore, it cannot offload onto a hostile territory to attack during this turn, because it has used up its 1 move loading. Is this correct?

Anyone else have this warning light yet?

2025 SV. 7000 miles. This like to come on in the morning, but not later in the day. It looks like forward collision alert system malfunction.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Today was a good day. New shooter and an old gun

I took my 12 year old to the range. He shot a variety of modern handguns and an AK variant. His favorite though, the 123 year old Carl Gustav 1896. A future milsurper in the making.

New Strap is 2 Thumbs Up

I’ve been meaning to share about this new strap I’ve had for around a month now.

This is from Veblenist based out of Chicago.

I’d seen recommendations for this company, but was hesitant to order out of fear I’d get a pricey strap that didn’t suit my watch and would end up sitting in a drawer. So, I turned to Claude Ai and uploaded a pic of my watch and asked it to help me pick a strap from veblenist. I know, I’m a nerd.

It recommended this charcoal grey suede strap with exact custom specs, including the stitching pattern, extra thickness and taper.

I attached the exact specs of my order if anyone is interested. Note: I mistakenly selected 22/18, but later corrected it via email to 22/20.

I was initially skeptical of a suede material as I didn’t think it would suit the rugged nature of the Avenger. However, it turned out to be the perfect balance of refined and rugged that walks the line perfectly between leather and canvas.

I swapped out the brushed tang buckle with a cheap I deployment clasp I had laying around ( I know I need to upgrade this).

Overall, I’m super happy with this purchase. The level of customization from veblenist is what made this so great. The ability to add extra thickness and padding and pick the stitch pattern was exactly what was needed to complete the look.

Side note: my pics and lighting leave a lot to be desired. I have no affiliation with the company; just an enthusiast sharing his experience.

Thanks for reading!

Swedish 1896, no primer strike. Need your expertise

This group kindly helped me choose to go with a CG 1896 over a K31. I went ahead and purchased a 1903 example from a reputable dealer.

I have been so pumped to finally take it to the range. When the time came, no boom. Cycled the entire magazine of factory new S + B ammo with the same result.

The good news is I’ve found the problem:

When cocked, the cocking piece is not locking back far enough, thus its length of travel is reduced and under less force than needed. Pic with blue circle = not locked back far enough, can’t move safety to neutral position.

How do I know this?:
The safety tab was not moving from left fire position to mid position when cocked. When I manually pulled the cocking piece back another millimeter, the safety moved as expected. Photo with red circle = pulled back cocking piece another mm to get safety to move.

I’ve already taken apart the bolt, it was already pretty clean inside. Cleaned again, reassembled and same issue.

So, I’m wondering what next steps are from here.

Thank you!

Cause of leaky grey water pipe?

Hello RVers,
2016 Keystone Hideout 38, w/ winter pckg.

I noticed my grey water drain pipe leaking. Any ideas on the cause/fix?

At first I thought it was leaking at the elbow joint right where it exits from the underbelly and connects to the straight pipe. Looking at this vid though, it looks like maybe it is leaking from further up.

Any suggestions for getting to the bottom of it? It’s stationary at a camp ground a couple hours away so I can’t get a closer look until next weekend.

Thank you!

Swiss k31 or Carl Gustav 1896 for first milsurp?

Gents, I’d like to own a milsurp and am struggling between the Bern K31 and the Carl Gustav 1896. What would be best for my first milsurp?

Taking ammo into consideration, it looks like the 6.5 x 55 ammo can be had a little more cheaply than the k31 7.5, so this is also a consideration for me ( not a reloader).

So what would you recommend? Thank you

Black v Brown? Wife says brown

Told the wife I liked the brown, she said she thought black would look better. Tried the black now she says brown. Next, I told her I thought the brown made it a new era “Danny Archer.” To which she responded she didn’t know what I was talking about and called me weird.

I followed up with a text explaining the Danny Archer reference and have not heard back. So for the time being, I am Danny Archer (of the new era).
