Elitebook 835 G7, were these sold with 45W or higher power supply?

Hello all,

I bought a used Elitebook 835 G7, Ryzen 5 Pro 4650U, SureView, 16GB Ram and 1TB NVME. The laptop came with 45W power supply, I assume it is an original HP.

Is 45W enough for this laptop or were these sold by HP with 65W?

Using wg-nord to generate NordVPN Wireguard configuration - recommended or not?

Hello all,

I used [1] to generate a wireguard configuration from nordvpn and imported it into my Glinet Beryl (not AX). However I noticed:

  1. At some locations I do not get a connection through Wireguard and have to switch to the official Nord VPN Glinet Client.

  2. At some other locations it is the other way round. I get no connection via Nord VPN Glinet Client but through Wireguard.

  3. Is it possible the Wireguard configuration is getting problematic when the config gets older? I just noticed a quite low speed, then tried the VPN Client and got good speeds.

Do I have to update the Wireguard configuration from time to time?

Do I have to update the Nord VPN configuration from time to time (using the official Glinet Interface)

Is there a reason why the Wireguard gets slow?

Ways to silence an alarm with button lock on Instinct 2X

Hello all,

Instinct 2X:

I have an alarm set to 11:40 each day. In winter I was skiing and the alarm went off. I had the watch locked and could not unlock it without loosing a glove and therefore was not able to silence the alarm which went on for a long time until I was able to get off the lift and to remove a glove.

Is there a way to auto silence a specific alarm after some time? Is there some other way of silencing? The watch was button locked and the normal dismiss was not accepted because of the lock.

Using the Riser, is using clips to hold PTFE tube and cable together ok or is there a better routing?

Hello all,

I have printed the CC Riser Slide and PTFE Relocation and use printed clips to hold them together. 1 Additionally I use a strain relief.

But I suspect this causes problems, especially in the top left corner because the tube and cable bump into the riser. See this photo, it is from a failed print but you can see the tube and cable:

Question: Is this a good way to use the clips? Is there a better way to route the tube and cable so it does not bump into the frame/riser?

Glinet Comet, is there a way to hide the lower bar as it covers a part of the task bar of the host?

With Glinet Comet, is there a way to hide the lower task bar (WebRTC - resolution - fps.... status)

I found in full screen it covers a part of the host task bar which is annoying. Or it could have been the latest update, as I only noticed this now...

Change original Anker cable with ferrite to short one, should I add a ferrite?

The Anker A2345 250W power station has a cable that comes with a ferrite near the plug at the charger.

I want to change the original Anker cable to a 0.5m, reason is weight and handiness. Should I add a ferrite around the cable?

USB cable tester - continuitiy + FNB58 or proper USB tester?

I would like to have a USB Tester. Mainly to find out the capability of cables, but (perhaps) also to test the quality of cables? Is it really 240W or not?

For the basic connections, there are those 15€ wire testers. Plug in the cable, LEDs get lit or not from a CR2032 battery. I have to manually interpret the cable capabilities and can not test for ... wire resistance or else.

Would a proper USB test like 1 would be a good choice? Or is the continuity tester plus a Fnirsi FNB58 (which I already have) be equal to 1?

similar layer shift on two prints

Hello all,

I am currently printing fake wasp nests. I printed 3 without problems already and the next two were the photos attached. There was some sort of layer shift in the middle of the print.

I am printing in eSUN PLA silver, respooled from 3kg to 1kg, but the filament unspools fine so I think the problem is somewhere else.

On the pictures you see a single fake nest (that was currently printing) and a second one placed before it, that was the print failed before. The print failed at different heights but with similar result.

The print settings stayed the same for the successful prints. The difference to the unsuccessful prints is I activated fuzzy skin resulting in a much larger file. (34.2 MB vs 105.82 MB)

Elegoo Centauri Carbon 1, running OpenCentauri. The heater (with the white exhaust) was off during the print. The nozzle and bed settings were the same for both the the successful and failed prints. I print out of a Creality heater.

Could you help me find the problem?

Hello all,

I am looking for a good USB Adapter set, that means USB-C to USB-A, USB-A to USB-C, to mini USB, to micro USB. Power and Data Lines, including high speed lines not just USB 2.0, all in a neat case storing everything.

Does someone have suggestions?
