Hi everyone,

I’m a fresher currently looking for my first opportunity in Data Analytics in Pune, and honestly, the job search has been quite challenging.

I’ve been preparing myself with SQL, Python, Pandas, NumPy, Excel, Power BI, data visualization and basic statistics. I’ve also worked on hands-on projects and built my portfolio with GitHub and LinkedIn.

I’m applying for roles like Data Analyst, Junior Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst and Business Analyst, but getting that first interview is still difficult.

For people who have already started their careers in Data Analytics, especially in Pune/India:

- What helped you crack your first job?

- Is my current skill set enough for a fresher?

- Should I focus more on SQL, Power BI and Excel rather than learning more tools?

- How important are referrals for getting interviews?

- What kind of projects actually stand out to recruiters?

- Are there any companies in Pune that regularly hire freshers for analytics roles?

I’m not looking for shortcuts. I’m willing to put in the work — I just want to make sure I’m working in the right direction.

Any honest advice, feedback, or personal experience would really help.
