why is cat food advice online so conflicting?

i'm the owner of 3 domestic shorthairs, all 6 years old. since they're in the later adult stage now, i've been trying to be more attentive to their nutrition. mostly they eat kibble mixed with a food topper and water, occassionally if i have the money they eat wet food. i know it's not the best, but i try on a student budget. and recently i've turned to the internet for some research.

i see lots of people say an exclusive dry diet is really bad for cats. no hydration, bad for kidneys. i even saw someone cite a study that said re-hydrating kibble with water or broth lessened overall liquid intake in cats. i thought, oh no! i need wet food!

then i saw plenty of people say an exclusive wet food is also bad! it can lead to bad oral health in cats, it irritates their gums and upsets their stomachs because of high phosphorus. better to feed raw, cats are carnivores anyway!

then there was a whole crowd of people saying feeding your cat raw was the worst possible thing you could do! high risk of parasites, e-coli, bacteria.

like seriously guys... WHAT should i feed my cats then 😭😭 it seriously doesn't help that all 3 of these crowds love talking down anyone who thinks differently. my 3 cats are active, generally healthy, they eat and drink with no problem. is my kibble with water and topper enough?

she's not letting me finish my puzzle

every time i try to put a piece down she rubs her head on my finger. she's also been licking random pieces. either she's preventing me from finishing this or she already knows how to solve it for me

clear kobo case durability

next week i'm placing an order for my first ever KLC and i'm very excited! i want to buy a clear case to go with it, but i'm reminded of how certain clear phone cases go yellow/brown after being used for some time. anyone have any similar experiences?

Reels goes dark randomly, but is momentarily fixed with screenshot/screen recording

i sound like a crazy person trying to explain this glitch but please bear with me. every once in a while, scrolling through reels, the video will go dark. not completely blank, because if you squint, some of the video is still visible.

the caption, like & share & comment buttons are still visible and functioning properly. audio also still plays. it is purely just the video that goes dark. it also affects exactly one reel at a time. when i scroll past, the next reel functions just fine until i randomly run into the bug again some time later.

i wanted to post this bug to see if anyone had any similar issues, only to find that when i screenshot, the issue fixes itself! the screenshot is clear as day with the video visible. the same happens with screen recording, the video will be displayed for as long as i screen record but will go dark instantly as soon as it ends.

please, has anyone gone through something similar? i've only experienced this on instagram.

Improving kibble diet with bone broth, need tips!

My 3 cats have been on kibble diets most of their lives, but recently I've started to add bone broth to their kibble to improve their hydration.

I use a bone broth powder (formulated for pets, no additives) I bought from an online store, and I dilute it with warm water first before adding it to their kibble.

But the store didn't have a lot of guidelines for the feeding, so I'm curious to anyone here who does the same, how much broth & kibble are you giving your cats? Are you just adding a splash or turning it into a proper soup type situation? Do you find that you have to reduce their kibble portions because the broth leaves them fuller?

Also, any toppers I can add in the future to further enrich their diet? Any tips greatly appreciated 🤍
