Glenbrook brewery
Came here for the 250 pale ale. Got to say it’s true to how it would have tasted back then. Parking is a bit of a pain. Other then that it’s a cool little spot

I just started a ig page dedicated to my homebrewing and brewery reviews. Is there any brewery’s open on a Monday or Tuesday that wouldn’t mind me doing a quick review and tagging them. If I can make something of the ig page I see it as a win win since I try to keep things on the positive side. To help the Nj beer industry
I went to Icarus brewery for there kolsch night. Got to say it was a great event. I want to encourage others to go in July when they have it again. It was a true experience that I really enjoyed, and the beer was fantastic. I’m gonna try to go to the next one. As long as it doesn’t fall on when I have my Home Brew meeting I’ll definitely be going back.
With the AHA awards that were just for lease I want to give a special shout out to brew hardware we’re winning shop over the year. If you haven’t checked them out, check them out they have both brick and motor and online store. They are great if you have any questions, they answer them and they don’t make you feel stupid for asking them. I can’t sing enough good things about brew hardware. Congratulations to all the winners, especially brew hardware for winning shop of the year.
Last week I brewed a kolsch. Today I gave it a taste test. Did it come out too bad I was a little bit nervous because when I put it in the fermenter, it was more of an orangey tint to it, and when gave it a taste test today, I see the color drops to what it should be. Has anybody else ever had this happen to them on the brew just to find out that the color adjusted. Does anybody know what would cause this? Taste just fine. Everything else is on point with it does it brew the color was off? But it adjusted again no clue why.
Today for Father’s Day I went to Belford brewing and cricket hill. I got to say I loved Belford brewing company. The owner is awesome. I can’t recommend Belford brewing company enough. Cricket hill is good but Belford is way better in my view.
On Instagram and YouTube, this company claims that they were the first of that system that they were ripped off by major companies now. Being so close to claw hammer I think they’re trying to accuse Clawhammer of ripping them off. However, I don’t believe those claims are true. Does anybody have inside into this company? I know their customer support isn’t that great and their equipment isn’t that great. I also know they also look a lot like claw hammer system with some minor differences. However, claw hammer does have the best system. I also like how qua hammer you could make it more your own and modify it however you want. Again, if anybody knows what’s true I’d like to kinda hear their input.
Now that MoreBeer has purchased anvil, I was thinking of emailing them with some improvement ideas I had for the anvil brew bucket. Since I love my anvil brew bucket, but I’m not crazy about taking off the lid when I have to dry hop. I was gonna email them to see if they could look into making a way you could dry without having to take off the lid completely. Just wondering what you guys think of this am I thinking too radically or is it something that other people who like anvil brew bucket would like to see as well? I do know Clawhammer has a keg that I could do this with but right now funds are too short for that. With my next thing I now I’m thinking too radically with equipment changes i’d like to see a claw hammer two simple changes one with their kettle and basket. I wish there was a way that I could just lift up the basket twist and have it stay on its own kind of like their new all-in-one system that mimics anvil foundry and mash and boil. I’d also like to see a heating element that could do a better boil at there 120 element. I get why, but it says changes I would like to see like I said I kinda think about these things and what I would like to see. What do you guys think of that? Like I said, I like looking at the equipment that I love and seeing how it could be improved. Sometimes in your head, it thinks it works, but maybe it’s not so practical would like to think what you guys have to say
Finally got to check this place out. The beers and food was good. Just I wasn’t impressed by the service. Friendly but lacking. I had to tell them I had a reservation my first beer sat so long it lost its head retention. I ended up just having two beers and beer to go. Worth a check out but don’t expect fast service. I hate leaving negative reviews but also have to be fair at the same time.
I was able to support pint day at little dog brewery and screaming hill brewery both grew brewery’s. If you’re in Monmouth county check them out. If you can today support pint day what a great way to support your local brewery
Got to check out twin elephant on Tuesday. They have really good beers. Two of the beers I wanted to get were sold out. I see that as a good thing in my view. I really enjoyed the Italian Pilsner. The one they have on tap is a little bit different than what I’m used to not from a malt perspective, but from a hop perspective they really made it their own. That beer and the brown ale were brewed to perfection. It was worth it the drive to check them out
Just got home from altered and endings music trivia. I gotta say. How great the staff, the owners and the breweries are. This is me and my wife’s Monday date night. Sometimes we do good. Sometimes we do bad but we have fun in the process. Everybody from the wait staff to the general manager to the owners, go above and beyond. So I have to say how thankful I am to all the stay off there for the owners down. If you were in the area, you must give these guys love you guys know I always give the credit to good breweries so if you’re in the area, please check them out if you go down to Jersey shore this summer check them out. The food is great. The beers are great as well. I wish I could tag them in this to let them know how much appreciative I am of them, and my wife. I would appreciate if somebody could tag them. Again, if you’re in the area when you come down to New Jersey shore, please check them out.
I just finished listening to steal this beer podcast. They had the owner of sunken silo on. I got to say it’s a great brewery. I have nothing but respect for the staff and owner. They more often then not will host our home brew club meeting. If you haven’t checked them out yet you need to. I go from Monmouth county. Then again for a good brewery I will travel. Also travel a good amount for the meets as well.

I just got the Pinter system. To mimic cask pours. I was going to do my stander 7 gallon brew day scales down to what I need. I also like having a little extra wort just incase but I always make sure I have a gallon worth of head space in my fermenter. Has anybody else got this system use it with all grain brewing for this purpose ? I’m just curious to see everybody else’s opinion on it. Again, I’m gonna do all grain brewing, but I just wanted something that mimics cask pours for without spending thousands of dollars on a beer engine.
Got cartons 077xx ipa at my local restaurant. Got to say this is what an ipa should be. The best Jersey ipa are made in two brewery’s carton and kane. The edge goes to carton tho.
The last few times I use Lutra to do a lager or Pilsner end up tasting like apple. This is only been the last four a year past even before that never had this problem. Nothing has changed in my process. Looking for a reason why I’m getting that heavy apple taste that gets slightly lower as time passes. Again, it’s only when I use Lutra yeast.
Checked out a new brewery to me heavy reel brewery in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. Gotta say I was Sterling impressed. All the beers are really good. The staff was friendly as well. If you’re down the shore, add it to your list of breweries to check out.
