Retro repair shops?

Looking for a repairshop that is good at gba repairs. I have a used gameboy that will sporadically refuse to read games. Upon opening the shell, the cartridge reader is a new one that has been poorly soldered on and is not making full contact with the motherboard. Any stores able and willing to fix someone elses work? Thanks so much

Gameboy is haunted

I have a gba cartridge that reads differently across gbas. One runs it fine(not videod), one has that thunk noise on start otherwise runs fine, and the second one, as you see, is possessed when I put the game in. Cleaned the contacts. If this is an issue with the silver gba, what should I check? If this is the cartridge, does it need more cleaning? Resoldering?

Renting in/around Helena

I’m currently looking for a 1 or 2 bed apartment for rent in and around Helena for 2 people and two pets. Where are the cheapest available options?

Certain game has no audio

Have this game with no audio that I’d like to repair. Examples in video as shown- one game works perfectly, good video, good audio etc. The second game- my dragon ball z game, has literally no audio at all. I will post in comments the inside of the game cartridge. Ignore the ugly mug in the reflection, I have a cat-ish exterior.

Game audio not working

Hey all, have a gameboy with a functioning speaker and it works for all other games. I have cleaned the cartridge for this game, but still can’t get the audio to work, the best I am getting from this game is a faint buzzing sound. Contacts are cleaned and seem to have solid connections, what’s my next step here? I can’t find anything online as it has been devolved into constant google ai and posts telling me about the gameboy itself not working, thanks google enshittification! Anyone have any ideas?

The restaurant industry has a crisis here.

Hey all, line cook here. I have been in the industry for a few years now and have noticed a stunning, terrifying pattern with the restaurants in Jefferson and Shelby county. To put it bluntly, the kitchens here are outright fucking disgusting. Just had an interview today in one such example. They hadn’t even opened yet- and it looked like they were freshly post dinner rush. Fries and food all over the fucking floor, fry baskets and hood vents caked BLACK with grease, untouched dishes etc. But the gag is, this isn’t unique, at all! I have been in half a dozen kitchens just like this- and they all have one thing in common. Health scores above, yes ABOVE 98. Over and over and over. I have worked in a BBQ restaurant with an active, visible infestation of roaches- and overheard the nastiest thing from the health inspectors SUPERVISOR when they walked in… “this is cleaner than most bbq restaurants”. Guys, it’s not even fucking funny at this point. Jefferson and Shelby county health departments are allowing y’all to eat rat shit, rancid oil food, roach parts, everything you could imagine and they don’t give a fuck because they are either friends with managers or owners of the restaurants- or worse yet, paid off by them. This is a top down problem, from inspectors, to owners, to management, to line cooks who are too underpaid to give a fuck. How did we let it get this fucking bad? Is anyone going to talk about it? This is an active public health crisis and something needs to be said and done. I cannot be silently scrubbing away at the filth with no help anymore, this needs to be a shift of the ENTIRE industry starting with the leadership. Does anyone feel similarly or have the same experience? There’s no shot I’m feeling alone in this with how many dozens of casually FILTHY restaurants I have seen.
