Since my girlfriend and family don't really care- figured I'd show it here. Cost about $300 and started the idea last week. Mostly vibe coded with Claude and 3D printed on my Bambu X1C. Camera is 12MP and it has two rings of LEDs shining light around the coins. I'll post some more but this is the first image it produced successfully. Still have to calibrate it and get some focal adjustments to get more resolution :)

Angelus Chronodata

Bought it off an awesome dude on Instagram for $900 as a non-runner but got it running within an hour. Just need to fix the chrono start/stop/reset mechanism and polish the crystal up.

I am through the moon happy with it already.

Flea Market finds today

Pricing was fair, the only real deal i got was the Egyptian cup from what appears to be early 60s and is 80%. Was shocked i was able to find out what the hallmarks meant online fairly quickly.

Bracelet was just selling at scrap and those bracelets often go for 2x in my head.

The coins were just cool. The canada "death dollar" was my favorite.

My girlfriend even managed to find a spoon belt and grabbed it and one of the spoons was silver(18g)

Weights: 83g for cup, 66g for the bracelet, 3 canadian dimes, 1 canadian quarter, 1 canadian death dollar (1958 commemorative with a totem pole)

Found these for about 20$/each

All 925, all neat, biggest silver find was the serving fish knife and fork though!

Best NGC 1736 Bolivia 8R

Wanted to share the coolest coin IMO that Ive gotten, grade wise, with you all. Its a 1736 Bolivia 8R graded AU55(NGC).

There was an AU58 but i guess the guy swapped sides over to PCGS.

I confirmed through photographs Ive found.

I recently bought several coins for my collection at a Sedwick auction. I have to say, the experience was truly worth the extra premium.

I forget what i paid but i think it totaled around 700. I wont be selling it anytime soon as i want it to be a part of what I am growing.

Im currently reading Sedwick's book on cobs (the late father of the guy running the show now).

1759 2 Reales Mexico

Got at Brimfield MA flea market. Paid 150 and was shocked that the condition was INCREDIBLE for a flea market find on a random shelf.

I got so damn excited thinking there was no way I woild find a 1700s reales, but here came manifest destiny with another idea!

Now. I looked up PCGS ans NGC samples and i have to say i found 2 or 3 better than this one, especially with that gash at the Q on QUE.

But im new, and would LOVE a genuine grade from some of you. Thanks!!!

1759 2R MO (2 Reales)

Got this today at Brimfield (MA) flea market. Was shocked when i found the Reales as I am collecting them. Was even more shocked when it matched the time period i was hunting. Seriously wild.

Deep scratch under QUE is the damning part- otherwise im shocked at the condition. Im super new to this and would love to learn a little.

I checked- theres only one AU55 and VF45 that look better imo.

Had fun at the Sedwick Auction with Spanish Coins!

...maybe a little too much fun?

Im working on a collection at home that will showcase the story of silver and global economies of trade grew using spanish coins.

Its funny, a few months ago as the silver craze started i started buying all these reales under melt and managed to grow out a fairly cool chopmark and decent 1800s spanish reales collection (and a few others). I would throw them into a treasure chest and just hide it under the bed. As i started reading, learning, etc... i found a cool opportunity to make a little nice shelf or something to make a little museum for guests to check out when they come visit our home.

Anyways, i felt i was missing a few things- the main centerpieces. I think yesterday i grabbed them.

1 is the pillar dollar.

2 is a very awesome cob to show how it all "started" before it got industrialized.

I think the narrative between all the coins i have highlights the connectivity europe, americas, and asian countries had.

The chopmarked reales are agressive and are passports of trade.

The shipwrecks show the risks people took.

The coin types through the years show hammered through milled.

I really think i have a cool thing going.

I live in Boston and am thinking of getting a Boston colonial certificate that extends the use of reales in colonial times (fairly cheap and the end statement that the reales were a currency even at our door).

Anyways. Id love feedback, comments on the coins i got, thoughts on how i could make this mini museum- we have a very low square footage house and my girlfriend hates "using empty space" as it ruins the fung shue.

But anyways. Hit me with ideas and would love comments on how i did at the auction! Last picture was prices- i paid a hard premium but i feel it got me incredibly top tier coins.

I did get all my money back so i felt reinvest it all into a trusted local shop! Total was 1400. 50$/1$ face junk, 480 for the gold 1/10th oz, 385 for the silver. I call it a win as im DCAing my pile and i put in about 2k/month. The rest im saving up for some nice spanish reales from 17th or 18th century (pillar or hammered cob).
