New kit...again.

I recently tried a gretsch catalina maple 7 piece. I had posted about it, and it had several defects that just bothered me. The funny thing was I almost said forget it about even getting another kit. While I had the gretsch setup I had no interest in playing drums. I thought my desire to drum had simply faded after 25 years of playing. After some back and forth with the Sweetwater rep and much debating on what I should do. I decided to get this tama. He was great at working with me, although, at one point he said it'll be hard to find a kit with no defects at my price range. That comment alone kind of killed the willingness to want a new kit. My old grumpy man mindset kicked in and decided you just can't buy anything of good quality these days. Lol. Anyway, long story, well, still kind of long. The tama came, the packaging was noticeably better. I didn't find any defects and I personally loved the sound of them right out of the box, even before upgrading the heads. I have been looking forward to playing them everyday after work. This is all I wanted. That new kit feeling. Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on the gretsch. It just wasn't for me. An instrument just has to feel right. Thanks for reading my long-winded rant. 🤘🤘🤘
