The upcoming 35-day “Legendary Hawaii, Tahiti & Marquesas” sailing aboard Holland America Line’s Zaandam has seen significant port changes in recent days. The ship departs on Thursday, October 15, 2026 and ports are still being moved and times adjusted, raising concerns among booked guests about possible propulsion difficulties and other challenges.

Originally, Zaandam was to have called on Bora Bora on Tuesday, November 3 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., followed by Raiatea on Wednesday, November 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On those dates, Silversea’s Silver Whisper is also planned for each port.

Now, Zaandam will visit Raiatea on November 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Bora Bora on November 4 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“Adjustments to the ship’s planned operating speed will be required during portions of the voyage,” the email noted. “As a result, we will no longer call at Tabuaeran (Fanning Island), Kiribati, on Thursday, October 29, and have adjusted the time spent in certain ports.”

To compensate for the loss of Tabuaeran, two extra hours have been added to two different ports, Kahului on October 24 and Moorea on November 6.

I just received notice that seven of our ports on the Island Princess October 2026 Med cruise have been shortened. SEVEN. Six hour port visits are not what I signed up for.

I noticed on our upcoming Island Princess cruise how many reservations were already made for the two Premier Dining spots for every day of a 40 day cruise. Someone told me that many book the earlier times every day for a long Princess cruises. Is that true ?

Why can I not get a post here ? I asked about my Amex card and a travel benefit and it was canned by Mods. I asked about what to ask in second reply and it was canned. I guess this will be canned ? What is with this forum ? Secret handshake ?

I have always booked cruises thru the cruise line but wanted to get some discounts and the extra points thru my AMEX Platinum card. The booking went fine and we were given an extra $200 on board credit to match the unsolicited $200 for a total of $400 on board credit. I looked up my Princess booking and the amounts are not listed on the confirmation. I have always operated that if it is not in print, it does not exist. However, this is my first time using Amex for a cruise and also our first cruise on Princess.

Anyone have experience with this ? Thanks for any advice.

Also , I used some points to discount the cruise since it is fairly expensive but the fare shown does not show the AMEX point discount. 420k points for $3000. reduction.

Does AMEX post the amount on the next billing cycle or should it post against the charge at the time the points are redeemed ? Many Thanks.

We are considering the Island Princess for a 50 day Med cruise . The mini suite prices are attractive with the premier package. I know it is an older and smaller ship but we are use to the same size on Holland America. What are your opinions on this ship and crew for a longer cruise ?

I have tried to cancel this $5.64 monthly charge to my AMEX from Google and ready to pull out my hair. Someone help if you know a simple way to get this done. I have little info from when this was considered but it was initially done on a free trial offer and now AMEX has reversed my charge challenge and says I need to reach out to Google. Page after page of complaints about this product and I am not the most internet savy person. Any help appreciated.

This should be renamed , " Fly Second Class in First Class. " Someone said Delta considered making the business class restroom off limits to those that use the "basic" business fare. I think Delta is messing up with this new ticket class. This could really go sideways fast and create more problems than it solves.

I tried to get two tickets to the Straight No Chaser performance and three different sites were involved and none seemed legitimate. Ticketmaster , supposedly the official ticket agent for Wilson Center wanted to sell me 2 good orchestra tickets , but they were resale tickets with PDF delivery "by" the day of the concert. Why does Cape Fear Community College allow the Wilson Center to used such unscrupulous vendors ? All live ticket sales feel like shakedowns these days.

Several months ago, I made deposits on some very expensive Med cruises for next year.

I have tried to reach ANNLOU MARTIN-ONG on the west coast of the US numerous times thru her personal phone, her Princess number and thru her Princess email. Nothing. No return calls , no texts, no emails, nothing.

The cruise no longer ends in Istanbul and several ports dropped or changed and the other cruise now is the same cruise as the first in reverse.

I have called Princess and no one seems to know anything except telling me not to cancel my cruises since the final payment is far off.

When I try to find out who is in charge of their agent group , that leads no where and each call routes to various locations around the world with each agent wanting to go thru the same spiel and a dozen questions to verify me and the cruise.

If this is how they work on expensive fares for long cruises , I shudder to consider any other cruises with them. Who is in charge at Princess over these supposed senior agents and how do I reach a specific office. Every call to the numbers given routes into another agent selling cruises.

A simple online trip to Medicare to verify my new supplement plan has turned into a horror story trying to get thru IDME.com . I have taken pictures , answered this and that and put in codes and now it is locked up since my phne will not allow idme to control the camera ? What is going on > Medicare rep was little help.

I received a bill from Novant Health for my wife on private insurance and it included a bill for $17.00 that was submitted to her carrier for :

This is snuck in as part of the check in procedure for the patient and they are not made aware of this "service" nor the charge and the NOVANT financial customer service agent could not provide any other details than it is a new charge.

I have let her know that we will NOT entertain any such charge and will pitch a ruckus and raise awareness of this new trickery with the public and the media.

I have defended Novant in the past but this is so underhanded and sneaky and devious that I will spend retirement time making everyone aware of this repulsive billing practice.

With the public beating and negative press that Novant is now receiving , this type of billing behaviour WILL NOT win it any friends and will be another fire in their kitchen. This is beyond stupid and a cheap revenue swindle on the public.

I would welcome any response from any Novant officer on my remarks.
