Applied for first USA passport 26 days ago, DC burbs, still MIA.

Acceptance fee not cashed until August 4th. Finally on August 11th I called USPS and the very helpful national number assisted me and directly contacted the post office where it was accepted way back on July 23. Now it's the 17th and the dept of state money order hasn't been cashed and the status update sitll says unavailable.

This isn't just for travel this is FOR my life and income. I need current valid id asap. And what's really bothering me is it took forever to get my birth certificate because my home state want current id in order to release it. And now its in the missing application.

I should have gone into Washington, DC directly but it was so hot and I'm partially disabled so I took uber nearby.

Also I would have sent it two day since I had paid for 60 dollars expedited but the clerk told me I didn't need to bother with extra stuff. SO no proper tracking.

Does anyone have similar stories where it took forever to get from acceptance place ot the Philadelphia for sorting??

How to pretend NORMALCY while still living in his HOUSE?

It feels genuinely strange that the smartest way to handle my situation is to be polite, keep cooking, keep cleaning, and keep helping with everything outside his job. We haven't been together in any real sense in almost eight years.

Getting money together has been slow because I had trouble obtaining a document I needed for ID, which held up everything else. He knows I'm waiting on the last piece of that now, and his attitude has gotten noticeably less hostile since. But I'm here until I've quietly built up enough of a cushion to go.

Had time to write because he's out DROPPING X,XXX at a STRIPclub tonight. No shade at all to the PEOPLE working, get yr bag. It's just remarkable to me that this has been the pattern for over a decade while the house he owns falls apart around us.

There's also a property I was told I'd be added to, which never happened, after I put a significant amount of inherited money in. That's a longer story and IT WILL BE handled.

My question for anyone who's been here: how did you manage to keep playing along, staying friendly, doing the household stuff — while knowing it's completely over and that in a couple of years you'll be somewhere much better and far away

PA: My aunt’s ex-husband took her to sign a will on the day of her DUI court date. Can this be reopened?

I need a reality check. I always assumed the family lawyers handled my aunt’s estate properly when she passed away in 2015. I just looked at the records for the first time, and what I found is terrifying.

Back then, my aunt was in a severe active addiction crisis. She had no car, was totally isolated, and was facing a major DUI court date in a different town. On the exact day of her court hearing, her ex-husband (they had been divorced for 25 years and he was remarried) intercepted her. Instead of letting her go to court, he took her to his own town.

Instead of a DUI lawyer, he had a highly influential local estate and trust attorney waiting. While she was completely impaired and panicking about missing court, they had her sign a will. It made the ex-husband Executor and gave him 2/3 of everything—completely cutting out her surviving special-needs brother.

The estate was worth well over $1 million, mostly in high-value personal property, but her actual real estate was sold way under value.

Is a will even valid if it was signed in a high-distress crisis state like this? Do we have any ground to get a judge to reopen the case for a full accounting because the property was undersold and she was clearly impaired?
