I hate hearing the encoding of the sound in videos on Youtube shorts and especially Facebook Reels...
I don't know what it is, but hearing the sound of the Facebook reels videos, the way it is encoded or processed is horrible. I have to nearly turn the video sound all the way to 1 on my computer, or basically off. Each sound is like, not necessarily "peaking" in the waveform, but it is uncontrolled. Whereas in Tiktok the sound doesn't peak like that, like if someone screamed in a video the audio is equalized to some degree. I have no idea why it is so bad... But Reels is the worst, shorts is the second worst. I can stand tiktok videos but even then I have to watch with subtitles. I hate videos where people make gross sounds and that seems to be a lot of reels videos where people are eating and making gross throat sounds for some reason??? Then shorts are just random loud noises.
Cognitively Disabled Neighbor Keeps Coming Onto Our Property… What Should We Do? Location: North AL
Location: North Alabama
I have a neighbor that for a while has been problematic coming onto our property. We are friendly with our immediate neighbors and my neighbors across the street from us showed us a photo of her washing her feet with our spigot in the front of our house. That was the first instance of us realizing she was coming onto our property… I have been doing yard work and left sprinklers in my yard overnight many nights. Eventually the sprinklers would be on for the whole night and I thought maybe I was just forgetting to turn them off. This happened multiple times until I knew for absolute sure it wasn’t me. I asked my neighbors next to us if they knew anything about it and that our sprinklers were somehow being on at night. They said they see her walking around our property, even in our backyard, and try to shoo her off. Then the other one sent me a video of her washing her feet with the front spigot like the photo from the other time. And both our cars in the driveway so we were at home too and didn’t know. So my husband bought spigot locks for both spigots on our house. He also purchased cameras including a doorbell cam. She came one night and stood in front of our door at 1:25 AM and mumbled incoherently. Then another time at 1:50 AM and did the same. Another time during the day she came by and rang the door bell and then walked off a few seconds after. My husband said this morning she came back and actually tried to open the front door this time.
I asked my neighbor across the street about her and they mentioned to me that she was getting into our mail box and that they tried to shoo her off. My husband told me he had put last name stickers in the mailbox so that we didn’t get other neighbor’s mail… apparently he said she opened the mailbox and peeled up the stickers, then later on had peeled them up more and made balls out of them. We have her on camera going around the house and going up to the front door many times, not saying anything coherent. Genuinely just mumbling. Then she’s been turning our water on and messing in our mailbox. I draw the line at the mailbox and trying to open my front door this morning. Not sure what to do. I am going to purchase an expandable gate for the driveway to discourage entry as our house has an open ditch in front which is very hard to pass, only way really to get on the property is to either go in my drive way or my neighbor’s driveway. Other than that, what do I do? I have no idea if she has a caretaker and if she does they’re not really doing a good job… I don’t really feel comfortable getting police involved since I know they don’t handle cognitively impaired people very well and don’t want anything to happen to her. I just really don’t want her to be messing around on my property and all that… please help give me some advice!
Not sure what flair this should have!
2 Week Post Op Progress From Laser Lipo
Here’s all my progress so far starting from before and up to today (2 weeks).
Hoping to see more progress in the coming weeks…
If you're nervous about chin lipo, don't be
I was so nervous yesterday before it. They took my vitals and my resting heart rate was 100... They gave me a "party in a cup" (what the nurse called it) which was a slew of drugs like xanax, pain pills, and something else I can't remember. It made me feel so nice. Then of course we go to the op room and I felt like I could just fall asleep there while the surgeon was working. He did local anesthesia and like, yeah I knew something was happening to my chin but I was in lala land the whole time. I was cognizant and could respond to stuff but I was drunk on pillz. I couldn't feel anything. Was amazing... Out of spite when I was getting into the wheelchair after the nurse told me I wouldn't remember this at all and I did remember it so HA!!! She wheeled me out to the car and I got in and then passed out basically. It apparently was a 2 hour drive home and I was snoring the whole time. I slept the whole way not waking once. I do remember getting home and my husband helping me up to the bed, then passing out again and sleeping again for a long time until night. Then I woke up, took my regular pills for bed time and then passed out yet again and slept through the night until this morning. So this morning I awakened and got some breakfast. The pain is so minimal. It's like a 1/10 on the pain scale (right now of course on the morning after...) . I ate some mashed potatoes, and of course trying not to exacerbate anything I got a small spoon and am not chewing. Also am drinking things out of a straw. I still haven't gotten the medications that they said would be called in like the antibiotic, pain pills, and something else maybe idk. I have been taking the amica tablets too, probably too often because they taste like tic tacs and are really yummy. But yeah, there is a slight pain when I open my jaw further but it's literally like a very light sore muscle pain. It's really not anything right now. Hopefully the pain doesn't get worse than this because I seriously don't feel a thing when I'm not deliberately opening my jaw, and even then it's so minor like touching an almost healed bruise. I also changed the pad because the gauze in the front especially had blood soaked into it (dried since yesterday) and just wanted a clean slate there. Here are some photos of the before and after and what my chin looks like morning after so you can see.

Edit 1 - morning of second day:
Now it is day two since the surgery.
There is a lot of bruising. I didn’t have any drainage basically so I stopped wearing the pads on my face yesterday. The pain is also elevated half a point. I still wouldn’t say it’s bad at all. I have to try to feel pain by moving my face a certain way.
Edit 2 - evening of second day:
Those pain pills really knock me out so I’m going to not take them in the middle of the day… the bruising is starting to look pretty gnarly but still pain is minimal.
Does anyone else get really really red-faced when doing a physical activity?
I just mowed like a 50 ft by 50 ft plot of lawn in my backyard (not even my whole yard…) and I came in my face is like literally bright red all over. It has been normal in the past for me to get red in the face like this but it also came with a migraine. Are there any treatments for this? I already have the temp regulation issues from pcos, but then It sucks because I’m also Audhd, and struggle with temperature regulation and am also on medications that cause temperature regulation issues on top of that. I am lost. I want to get healthier and exercise more but I always feel blocked by my temperature regulation issues and I overheat soooo easily. It was nice and cool in Alabama until like a few days ago and now it’s way too hot for me to walk outside in the daytime anymore because I overheat :(

It has been 2 months since I requested accommodations and still nothing has been done
I requested accommodations to work remotely half days 2 months ago for my job. The tough part is that I am a contractor so my parent company has to also work with the company I work at to figure this stuff out. To make it even more complicated, I work in a closed area. No phones or technology from the outside is allowed in. This means most headphones are out. This also means I don’t have control over the environment and everything is heavily secured and regulated. Even the lights are required to be at a specific level of lumens… it’s intense. So this means that most accommodations you’d request for an audhd person just basically get nullified. I don’t understand why I can’t WFH if the laptop is unclass and the work is unclass, I do it all on the laptop anyway??? I don’t know if anyone has encountered a similar situation. Any advice is welcome.
I have been doing a lot of thinking. These potato chips are by far the absolute best potato chip compared to any other brand and I'm willing to go to battle over it.
They somehow have mastered the art of "not enough" flavor theory you might find in other food items. These potato chips are not quite enough of any one thing, oily, salty, potato-ey... They aren't "quite enough" of any category, which leads you to continue consuming them until you find one in the bag that is exactly perfect, then you resume the search for the perfect chip again and again until the entire bag is gone.
The oil they use is amazing, and not quite like any other oil on other brands of potato chips. It's very simple but yet is retained by each chip and is lightly flavored and adds a nice delicate feeling and flavor to the chip. The salt they add is not quite potent to the chip but does add the extra bang of flavor while the oil does most of the heavy lifting. As said before, the chips themselves are not particularly well salted except for the occasional perfectly salted one which I feel like is very well balanced and by design. Because it's so perfect to continue eating them to find the perfectly salted chip that lurks in the bag. After this, you have the ruffles which add the incredible texture that combines with the oil flavor, texture, as well as the salty flavor and texture. The textures are incredible and I feel like other major brands of plain potato chips just don't quite nail it as sophisticatedly as this. They leave nothing left to be desired. This chip leaves you wanting more and then you can't really stop. You fall in love with them because they don't quite give you exactly what you want on the first chip. This is why they are the best chip. They are a textural and flavorful enterprise.
