Is it possible to have a 9-5 job as an attorney, where the phone is off when you get home, and you can spend uninterrupted time with your kids, without being a prosecutor?
I think the biggest moral failing our country has committed internally within my lifetime is the mass-arrest of “illegal” immigrants and their shipment to domestic concentration camps. There will be a legal reckoning for this, and I want to be on the frontlines.
I’m highly, highly motivated to become a lawyer because of my moral passion to protect civil liberties. I’m pro-union, pro-worker, pro-immigrant, pro-accused criminal. I’m anti-corporate, anti-state overreach, and anti-capitalist.
However, I don’t want to work judicially for the government, given how politically driven that branch currently is. I don’t want to withhold exculpatory evidence to get minorities convicted, I don’t want to entrap Muslims for the FBI, and I don’t want to put immigrants in cages.
What being a state or federal prosecutor does have, though, are pretty rigid hours. They seem to be able to go home and turn it off as a prosecutor, and this is what’s supremely important to me.
I want to fight for justice for the little guy, but I don’t want to be missing for my little guys’ big moments.
Can I be a lawyer and have the life I want with my family?
Fans of both shows, who played the drunk better?
I love you Deadwood, I think you’re an American masterpiece, but I’ve never seen a better on-screen drunk than John Dunsworth as fuckin drunk again Jim Lahey.
Housemarquee probably got rid of it for this game, but it woulda been fun if they kept it.
