What is the glass pyramid about?

What is the glass pyramid about?

I have questions about this building…
- What is it?
- What goes on in there? There’s no signage
- How did they get planning permission for it to be so tall and visible?
- Why is the landscaping so out of keeping with the building? The brick paving looks like it should lead to a 1950s semi-detached

Anyone tried AI-generated synthetic research?

I’m looking into creating AI personas based on our customer data and Similarweb. Then we can produce focus groups and audience insight to test our concepts.

Anyone else done this? Interested to hear your thoughts and processes

The Promise - 1200 word short story (feedback appreciated!)

Trying a few short stories whilst I chip away at a novel. This is my first one. Feedback greatly appreciated.

I’d caveat that it is set in the north of England and relies upon football/soccer references that will most probably go over the readers’ heads if they aren’t familiar with them

J.M Barrie - Courage - Anyone recognise this floral binding?

I picked this up at huge book clearance in England last year, and been going down a rabbit hole trying to find out more about it.

It’s Courage by J.M. Barrie, published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1922, printed by T. & A. Constable of Edinburgh. Published version of Barrie’s address at St Andrews, delivered 3rd May 1922.

Most copies I’ve seen for sale online are in plain cream cloth. Mine is in a full leather binding, gilt title, top edge gilt, with a deeply blocked floral border of red roses and green vines on the front board, colour still sitting nicely in the recessed tooling. Brown endpapers, ribbon marker still intact. Text runs to 45pp, which from what I can find seems to be the scarcer first issue (as some copies ran to 47pp).

There’s also a “Merry Christmas” inscription dated 1924, two years after publication, so I’m reading that as a gift inscription rather than any kind of special Christmas edition despite the colours being green and red.

I’ve checked the inside board carefully and there’s no ticket or stamp that I can find. Emailed Bayntun and they've ruled it out being their binding.. No idea beyond that whether this is a publisher’s deluxe binding or a later rebind by someone else.

Hoping to learn more! Does anyone recognise this floral tooling style or the binding technique? Trying to work out if it’s a named binder or a publisher’s own deluxe issue. Happy to get more angles if it’d help identify anything.

TIA

Trying to sell tickets for Japan v Sweden in Dallas

We ended up with an extra pair of tickets in the draw and my friend is trying to sell the extras at face value.

They are category two. However when I log in and look I can only see category 1 tickets available at double the price

Anyone else experienced this issue? Can anyway see our tickets listed?

Do you think Taylor will actually give a speech at her own wedding?

The traditional order is Scott, Travis, then Jason Kelce. Taylor wouldn’t be expected to say anything at all.

But… this is Taylor Swift. The woman who just wrote an entire album about this relationship. The idea that she’d sit quietly while other people describe her love story feels unlikely?

Then again she’s been so protective of what’s private lately. Maybe the wedding is the one day she just gets to be present without performing.

I genuinely cannot decide. What do you think? Does she give a speech, and if so what does she actually say?
