Hey everyone :).
I've been in Frankfurt for about 8 months now working full time and just found a new apartment in Bornheim and while everything is going relatively well I actually dont have any good connections to anyone here :(.
I lived in Berlin for a few years and miss the connections I made there.
I'm a bit lost on how to go forward, I'm pretty social and and have an active lifestyle but feel its really hard to connect and get to know people. I'm aware that locals and long term residents mostly have no interest in connecting with newcomers. I need some inspiration to get creative.
So my question is to people who moved here recently, how did you find your group of people? Did you do anything specific to immerse yourself here and meet people along the way?
Hello,
I live in Germany and I will be traveling to my home country next month.
Its hard to get Fin in Germany and its cheap and easy from back home.
How much can I realistically bring with me? I'd love to bring a years worth but afraid I will run into trouble at the airport.
3 Potato breads
Organic cream cheese
100% squeezed orange juice
Tuna wrap
Organic low fat milk
Oven baked chips
Zero sugar energy drink (brand: Maximal)
Hello,
Apologize in advance if this has been asked too many times.
I'll try to keep it short, moved into my new apartment (i live in Germany) with my wife and looking for a good long term investment for vacuum, things that are important for us:
-Long lasting, powerful suction.
Details on our living space:
-56 square meters (~600 square feet), no pets, just 2 people, hard wooden floors and carpets (no wall to wall)
There are plenty of options, particularly Sebo and Miele.
Unfortunately they dont make the Miele C3 anymore, i wish I could still buy them :(, they seem to be available on some online stores but I dont think I cant trust them
Miele M1 is the new alternative but im sceptacle of the new quality, they are not too expensive, I saw in Mediamarkt they sell entry level for around 210 EUR
I was thinking getting Sebo in the end as I think they haven't changed their design yet, but a bit pricey (entry Sebo E series around 300 EUR is a bit steep for me)
German subs mostly recommend Vorwerk as a top of the line brand, funnily most Americans would recommend Sebo
Wanted to get some recommendations from this sub and see whats suitable for me to get in the end.
Me and my wife are looking for mainly a bed and large closet to buy after our wedding.
We were surprised how expensive they are in general. We checked Poco and Roller and they were good priced but pretty bad quality. Ikea was also surprisingly expensive unless it was super basic white furniture. I'm willing to spend a bit more to buy something decent, it doesnt have to be the best (something in the range of 1000€ more or less)
Can anyone recommend places for me to check? Anyone have experience with Home24, XXXLutz or Mömex)?
Hello,
I have always had weak shoulders in general, but generally manageable. The other day im at work and I felt very mild discomfort in my shoulder but just brushed it off as it was nothing to worry about.
Then after lunch time I felt a growing pain and felt really stiff and couldn't move my shoulder around, by near end of day I had to lift my arm with my other arm to reach the keyboard on my desk because it was so painful, even crossing my arms and lifting my arm high felt agonizing.
I went home and thats when the pain started giving me cold sweats and just laid in bed the entire night and felt like torture to the point I felt like going to the emergency room. Even laying my arm on the bed felt pain and being upright felt less bad.
I slept it off and the next morning still felt pain but waaay less agonizing. I went to work anyway and slowly throughout the day got less and less painful and by the time I went home the pain was gone 80%.
Today I can feel very slight discomfort when rotating my wirst in a lateral raise position but very manageable.
Can anyone explain why the unbearable pain came out of nowhere and stopped after 1.5 days?
Hey everyone.
I work in IT Procurement for a large international IT service company in Germany. I mostly do Operational Procurement but also includes Sourcing as well.
I make 50k per year gross and get the feeling its on the low part of the spectrum. I would be fine in other parts of the country but I also work in a high cost of living area.
I have a masters (which is not really needed for procurement) and 3 years experience. My current role is a bit on the entry level side but had to choose it as job opportunities are slim to non atm (cant complain as its better than not working).
Just wanted to know what are the salary ranges in Germany as it wildly varies online.
