Hey! I've got some stuff to start junk journaling but I can't figure out what kind of actual journal to use. I thought maybe y'all might have some good recs? Open to anything!
I recently saw that Samantha's book as a grown woman had the "American Girl Legacy Novel" on the cover. Perhaps this was discussed before and I missed it but do you think there may be more for our historical girls as adults?
Even though I never really connected with Samantha or her books, I still read them and I still want to read this one. If there's others, who do you think there will be or who do you want? I would love an Addy one, a Kaya one and Felicity (maybe they'd help make her into an abolitionist!). Josefina's would be interesting too and I'd probably even read Molly and Kit's even though I've never read any of Kit's and Molly would just be out of curiosity. Oh and we can't forget Claudie, Rebecca, Caroline and Marie Grace, Cécile's! I doubt those would come out before the first 6 girls though.
I probably wouldn't read any of the more modern historicals because I'm just not all that interested in them to begin with but Melody's could be fun.
Ok now I want to hear which ones if any you'd read if they become a thing.
So, for migrations, this is what I have. I find it interesting because I am 98.8 % European (about 50% Eastern and Center Europe and 48% British Isles) and have 1% African and these are the only migrations that show up outside of my Polish ancestry.
The Upper Cape Fear makes sense given my dad's East TN/West NC roots with stories of Melungeon ancestry, but the Mississippi throws me for a loop. I still haven't been able to figure out which line these ancestors come from. I suspect there might have been some fibbing about paternity along the way so I'm unsure I'll ever find them but I am going to keep looking!
Anyone else with a small percentage have the African diaspora show up too?
I got a great deal on TM/JLY 59 (I think?) for $30 with just loose limbs. I've been wanting a "book" Elizabeth for my Felicity, as I grew up back when the OG books had her as a brunette. I will always see her as this, and see the AG Elizabeth as another friend with the same name. 😜 I think it depends on the era you grew up in with how you see Felicity's best friend!

Battery was one of those banks that you use during power outages. It malfunctioned and left the rotten egg smell in the basement. It was immediately removed to the garage and I have a box fan going. We don't have windows we can open to ventilate it.
Question is: do we all need to leave the house? We don't smell it upstairs and I have 3 cats and 2 gerbils. The smell is only really in one corner of the basement and I'm wondering how long it'll take to disperse and how dangerous it is. I've been doing research all morning and I am getting "just ventilate the area and leave it" to "call authorities immediately and leave the house for days." Just need some better guidance!
It's exactly as stated. I'm trying to ventilate the basement now but we have no windows that can open. I have a fan going but is there anything else I need to do?
I wasn't planning on getting another doll secondhand but I saw this one (I think 59?) who looks exactly like book Elizabeth for Felicity's best friend, who I have wanted for her. She was only $30! She needs restringing but she looks pretty good otherwise.
Now what's my husband gonna say with doll #7...🤣
Found her at my parents. She's got the start of silver eye and her limbs are very loose. I think this is her original dog too?
She also has her Christmas dress and pajamas. Her sweater is unfortunately unraveling so I have to figure something out to stop that...but pretty good after being in a box in her old room for 25 years.

I have a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. My older phone (a crappy Samsung A15) and my husband's old phone (an a12) connect with its Bluetooth fine.
I upgraded my phone to a Pixel 10a and the car just does not want to pair with it. It took 10 minutes to finally set it up and then I have to still manually go into my Pixel and select the Hands Free System for it to connect. It also supercedes my husband's phone whenever we're in the car when it should be the other way around. I tried switching the order on the list but it ignores it.
He got me an FM transmitter but I hate the static as I can't find any station nearby to be clear enough.
Is my best bet just to have a portable Bluetooth speaker now and forget the car audio system? I have no AUX port, just a USB A and husband says that won't connect to the stereo and I need to just get used to the FM transmitter. I'd rather just listen to the small audio of my phone than deal with that though.
Is there something out there I'm missing or is he right and I just need to deal with the transmitter or be SOL?
Had to take some photos of Felicity in my favorite outfit of hers I've loved since childhood. I only recently got the hat and shoes (those were sold separately and I never got them as a kid).
My mom said "she looks brand new". Pretty good for being almost 32 years old!
Is it just me or do the girls on the cover parallel the historicals loosely?
No parallels of Samantha probably because of Raquel but all the others look to be modern representations of the historicals.
Just saw these are available now without having to buy the stuffed dolls with them.
I haven't bought a doll brand new from AG since 1994. But she is definitely noticeably shorter than my Jess anf TM 56. I measured her abd she's just a hair over 17".
I'm curious if anyone else new doll from the 40th is also 17." It doesn't bother me but wondering if this is shrinkflation again.

One of the listings says they have multiple 😡 (from an account called Salt and Light no less...a Christian term which ofc is being used for profit and greed). They specifically bought them to upcharge. It makes me rage.
I hope these resellers get burnt. Greedy money grabbers.
Just wondering when the dresses and the LittlePeiple might go live tomorrow: are we thinking midnight tonight or like 8 or 9 am EST? I would guess the time the Berry event starts but I have no clue. I mostly want to get the Little People as an early Christmas gift for my niece and maybe get one of the HH doll dresses.
I bought 2 secondhand dolls recently from different sellers. They were both marked as actual Jess dolls but they look so different!
The one on the left is a quarter of an inch taller and has a wider face by the same amount. The one on the right has rosier cheeks. They both have a 2008 body tag, both the dark auburn with slight red highlights. Were there that many variations in the GOTY?
Also left Jess has choppy hair (possible cut) and her hair has obvious been straightened. Right Jess has wavy dry hair.
I am so confused right now...lol
