Another Marley Spoon meltdown - Washington DC area

Well our luck finally ran out. Of the three meals they delivered this week, all three were missing multiple ingredients, including one of the proteins. All told there were 7 ingredients missing.

In the past when I've gone to report one or two missing things on the web site, it immediately lets me know I'm getting a credit. This time, nothing. If I don't hear back from them by tomorrow, I'm doing a chargeback with my credit card company.

Where's everyone going after Marley Spoon? I used Hello Fresh in the past and they recently sent me one of their coupons. Have they gone downhill as well?

The new menu cards are horrible

I'll preface this by saying that we've been using meal kits for 5 years, and Marley Spoon in particular for 2 years.

It used to be that the menu cards gave instructions for making two portions. If you bought more, you would just double or triple the amounts using easy math. Now, there is a chart explaining how to make 2, 3, 4, or 6 portions even though you get enough food for just 2.

Then the step descriptions echo that nonsense by giving inline descriptions for each portion amount. So, this week we had such easy-to-follow gems as:

> In a small saucepan, combine 1/2^((2P)^), 3/4^((3P)^), 1^((4P)^), 1-1/4^((6P)^) water and a pinch of salt.

> Whisk to combine a drizzle of oil, 1-3 teaspoon(s) of harissa, and a generous pinch of salt.

That last one was really a puzzle, because we only got about 2 teaspoons of harissa, so we put it all in because we love the flavor. But of course, 5 steps later, it says put in the remaining harissa. The earlier menu cards would say something like "you'll use the rest later" but there was no such warning here and frankly, not enough harissa.

This isn't an isolated case either, Every card is cluttered with confusing info.

Has anyone else noticed the new cards? What do you think of it?

I have a relative with failing health in an assisted living facility who loves to shop for herself. Unfortunately she is having vision and memory issues so sometimes orders the wrong thing or the same thing multiple times.

What I'm looking for is a way for her to shop at Amazon but then I can approve the purchase before the order goes through. Amazon does have something that seems to fit the bill, Amazon Business Prime Essentials, but it says it is only for businesses. Has anyone used it as a way to approve purchases by family members?
