Can BDP crowd like such a model?! - Old City Docks

I try to make models that don't look like LEGO and are difficult to put into a category.

This is my new model for BDP2028w1.

It's not castle, it's not medieval, it's not pirate, it's not really typical building, ...where should it go?!

And, for the future, should I continue on this path or go for a more "safe" LEGO-looking set? Something that people recognise and can pair with an existing model/theme (which seems to be the trend)?

Largo Maradona as LEGO set

Hi all,

I made this LEGO set dedicated to "Largo Maradona".

Unfortunately Maradona cannot be used for a LEGO set so I had to remove him, but I left in as much references as possible - do you see them?! 😉

You can support 👍🏻 this model here:

https://ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/6d92d50e-1305-4c84-bd4e-a638636b774b

Models reaching 10.000 votes might become a real LEGO set.

There is no LEGO set dedicated to Napoli yet, or to SSC Napoli: let's change this!!! 💙

Naples in LEGO

If you have been to Naples recently, you might have noticed those lovely narrow alleyways between the tall baroque buildings.

This model is all about them!

If you like this model and would like to help it become a real LEGO set, please support it 👍🏻on LEGO Ideas.

I usually build modular but for this model I focus on the "space between", to capture the feeling of walking through the old city center of Napoli, in the shadow of old tall baroque buildings.

Let me know what you think of this approach :)

Napoli in LEGO

Ciao!

This ancient bell tower has stood watch over this crossroads for centuries. Now, weather-beaten, leaning, and crumbling, it’s been repurposed as a storage shed for horse hay.

---

This leaning medieval bell tower was part of a model I submitted to BDP11.

As with any design, you eventually come to the point when hard choices need to be made. This tower became a victim of one of those choices: I had to remove it as it clashed with the main model. However, I still like the concept and didn’t want it to be lost, so I’ve decided to share it.

Since I removed it in an early stage of the main project, it’s not as refined and polished as it would be when I complete a model for BDP or Ideas, but it’s still a nice little build and a great addition to your castle MOC or a starting point for a new model.

The instructions are cleaned and the parts are from the BD11 palette, so all currently available (except for the 3 signs on the signpost, which are custom because are supposed to use stickers).

Enjoy.
