Switch 2 owners, will this switch 1 case fit a switch 2? Orzly carrying case.

Just had this removed from the Switch 2 sub as I haven't enough karma there, so hopefully this works here.

(Ignore the white specks I haven’t a clue what they are. I know it’s a bit dirty 🤷‍♀️)

I’m planning on getting a switch 2 sometime soon, and I’d like to know if this case could fit one or not. I know for sure with the joycons attached it would not, but what about just removing them and storing them elsewhere? From what I’ve seen online, it looks like the biggest size change is in width, not length. There’s also a little bit of wiggle room vertically as well.

I’m spending a ton of money already on a switch 2 obviously and carrying cases are one of the cheaper accessories out there, but I’d still like to reuse this case instead of getting a new one. I'm quite partial to it still and other than the dust its in good condition. Really don’t mind that it wouldn’t be totally perfect with having to remove the joy cons. I’d picture them with my old switch in this photo, but they’ve long been dead to me lol.

If anyone’s got the same brand of switch 1 case (orzly) with a switch 2, how does it go?

EBook I refunded is still in my library?

So yesterday, I had my mornings enjoyment of finding an expensive eBook I've wanted to read being on sale for 97% off, only for Kobo to charge me the full price instead of the displayed discount rate. Really unlucky systems bug I guess, had never happened to me and I've bought about a hundred books by now on Kobo, most on sale. If it was a cheaper book I would've ignored it, but this book, god knows why, is like 40 CAD. It has a hardcover price.

Fortunately I had a decent experience with a support chat for once, they were very fast in offering a refund. Unfortunately not a full refund however, the sales tax still had to go to the government I guess or something so I still lost 3$. I don't blame Kobo for that, again, they did fine with me other than the website glitch. I asked for it to be sent back to my card (store credit was also offered) and I'm still waiting for it to go through.

However, I noticed that the mispriced book is still in my library. I dare not to click it or anything. I thought it would just disappear or something, but it's still there. I haven't looked at my actual kobo library yet, and since I'm in the middle of reading a book, it hasn't synced yet. But on the website, its there still.

Does anyone else here have experience with refunding a Kobo book? Did the book stay around for you? Because ngl I do want to read this book still, and it'd be great if I got something out of a missing 3 bucks. But again, I dare not click it or refresh my Kobo, because I've read here that some people had issues with their books being refunded after they were downloaded to their Kobo. I would figure the book would just be "digitally returned", especially because it's an expensive one. Or would it stay, because Kobo admitted it was a bug on their end?

Support didn't indicate what would happen to the book, and I didn't ask, so now I'm just curious. Thank you!

Got semi-close to finishing this game two years ago and never did and now I want to actually finish it; should I start from the beginning again or just continue?

Agh, this happened to me with Breath of the Wild for whatever reason as well.

I got to the Gerudo part of the 4 mainline quests, I think might've started the dungeon, and then... I don't know. I just didn't pick up the game again. This was around 2ish years ago, as I got the game a month after it came out. By all means I was totally loving TOTK, but I bought Mass Effect on Steam and got super absorbed into that instead (worth it tbh, it's become my favourite game trilogy ever).

Thing is, I'm debating if I should pick up where I left off, or restart the game. I'm not too worried about the plot since I can remember most of what happened since it was relatively simple, but it'll still be a bit jarring to jump in again after 2 years. Also the controls are a concern, wasn't great at combat to begin with (I never am). And the fact I'm likely in a dungeon from where I left off doesn't bode well as a good point to go back in.

So I come to reddit to make a decision for me, I'm sorry. But it's better than AI, I need the peoples opinion on this. Just want to know if anyone else has returned to this game after a long period or found it fine/worthy to go through everything again from the top.

(Ugh, I wish the multiple slave slots weren't just a Switch 2 thing as I wouldn't be having this conundrum. Though honestly I might wind up buying one soon thanks to the bonus game promo they got going on and the fact it's going to be going up in price in September. So crazy my Switch 1 was like 350$ CAD back in the day, I miss 2017 man...)

Super tart/sour smoothie recipes?

Been getting into the world of making smoothies after getting a blender and not having enough places nearby that make them. For the most part I’ve been using the Evive pucks. Not sure what this subs opinion of them is but I like them well enough.

Regardless though I want to move into making my own concoctions. I was especially thinking of making sour smoothies. I am a big fan of sour candy, so I thought smoothies would be a healthier way to get that fix and maybe not dissolve my mouth lining in the process. Sour skittles I love you but my mouth certainly does not.

I’m basically looking for peoples own advice and recipes for making tart smoothies. I figure it’s probably best to use an alternative milk considering that dairy curdles: I’m open to oat milk mostly but I also currently have some almond milk in the fridge. Awful for the environment I know but honestly it was a mix up, the brand I get has the same packaging for all their alt milk so it’s hard to tell. I figure oat might go weird with really tart, fruity smoothies? So that kind of thing to consider. (Dislike coconut though).

Thank you!

Is there any really official word on what happened with the Trigun reboots original 3 season run?

As of tonight, I am all finished with Trigun. Started with the manga, then 98' anime, and now the 2020 reboot seasons. I can definitely say that the manga is the very best version of this story. But both animes I found to be very enjoyable, and I mean Stargaze wasn't as bad I found as people were making it out to be. There were still cool animation moments, and the characters had good gags at times (Milly dragging a screaming Meryl into the arc via flight-of-motorcycle was a paticular high lol). I also honestly think for the most part that this depiction of the Gung-Ho guns was better, as I didn't like their more episodic formula from either original anime or manga (primarily with the whole "collect the coins" subplot). I also really liked recognizing panelling details from the manga itself they kept, and getting Livio/Razlo animated was great though I wish we had more time with him.

But, it also had issues! I just deleted a paragraph of me voicing weird stuff I noticed. But it seems to be a curse in any well animated, adult fantasy/sci-fi show I enjoy; doomed for 2 seasons when there really should be 3. It reminds me of Arcane; needed 3 seasons but the powers that be demanded we keep it for 2. Either way, not here to critique, I see theres been a lot of posting on that so I'm here asking a different question to speculate on.

I read online there was supposed to be 3 seasons of the Trigun reboot, but then there's something on the director not returning..? It's really obvious they rushed, especially for cramming like 15 volumes of manga into a season. By all means, I think the writers did the best they could with that challenge.

So like, is there any official kind of word or clear issue that happened on the production end here? Was it budget, or lack of interest? I can't imagine that being it, I remember seeing a lot of hype for Stampede, and while I didn't get into it until now I can still see there was clearly a massive interest boost for Trigun which has still remained really popular. For sure, season 2 would have paid it back if they had the pacing room for one more season, and people would have also totally tuned in again.

Idk, maybe everyones still in the dark as I am. I tried researching it but I couldn't find anything.

How do you all transcribe your written words (on paper) into text?

I'm starting to get into handwriting on paper now as a means to limit my screen time, and all the other benefits of handwriting. I even went out and bought a binder and lined sheet paper, got me feeling like I'm in grade school again lol.

But obviously I also want to keep a copy digitally. Currently I've been going through series of beginner character sketches for my main cast and transcribing them for scrivner on my Mac. But that takes quite some time for what are only 1000-ish worded sketches, I worry for when I start actually writing chapters how long it'll take. Plus I'm on a laptop and I find it difficult to type on sometimes with how flat the keys are, especially when I don't really have them in my peripheral view as I'm trying to balance screen and journal while typing at the same time. And Apple's autocorrect is the most finicky thing ever lol, works when you don't want it to work, I swear.

Obviously I've done research on this; I see that it's common for people to take photos of their handwriting and use the automatic text detector and paste that into wherever, then correct it. I suppose it'll probably work well enough for me, but I really cannot emphasize my handwriting. Sometimes it's just one letter and then a suggestion of the rest with a squiggly line, and I can read that fine. I'd have to check it extensively. I was also thinking of speaking my written word and letting my mac transcribe the audio. I do that for my dream journal when I wake up, and it's not really great at my voice then but my morning voice is also something awful so it could be that too. Plus it's a fantasy project, my phones going to get confused with the names.

Anyway, I was just wondering what others on this subreddit who have a similar analogue/digital process do for this, and how you've found your process with digital transcription. I find typing gets terrible when I try copying with my eyesight what I have in my journal. So clearly that's not the way for me, or else I'm going to end up getting lazy and not transcribing stuff whatsoever.

Seeking out those who have illustrated their own decks, any observations on the process and things to keep in mind?

Hi all, I'm an illustrator and have been wanting to embark on a personal tarot making journey for the past while. I've been putting it off long enough, especially since I've bought materials for this project specifically (blank cards, a large pack of sharpies for making the backs all in black, journal for jotting meanings/interpretations). It'll be my first ever tarot deck to own, I've been doing research into tarot itself and will going with the common Waite-Smith deck, and altering the designs for my own creative fun + meaning while keeping the important symbolisms intact.

Also severely unemployed so naturally I gotta start consulting the fates that be, because Indeed ain't cutting it-

Anyway. Thing is, I've been trying to decide what medium to use. Typically I'd use digital software, and I am planning on using it actually for the process of drawing the sketches down where I have access to 3d models and other things that can help me a little. But I don't own a printer; all of my digital work exists exclusively on the screen. Fortunately however I also got a lot of experience with traditional mediums, so I'm just going to draw on the cards themselves.

My immediate plan atm is inks with watercolour. I also own coloured inks for colouring, a pack of Prismacolors for easier shading/gradients, and I'll also use waterproof black fineliners for lines. Probably going to go for a very graphic approach in the end, been getting into stippling especially. But I am worried about potential smudging or transfer however when shuffling/drawing; should I get some fixative of a sort to use? I'd rather not use aerosols tbh, I know there's alternatives you can just paint on instead, but I'm also worried that any additional texture could make shuffling difficult. And for the backs, I'm using sharpie. I have tested a little bit with the extra cards I got (pack of 80), and I discovered that the glossy side which is meant to be the back is fine with marker, but despised this red ink I wanted to have on the backs. Sharpie covers fine when you layer it enough, and this is pretty decent card stock so there was no bleeding.

Basically I am asking for peoples experiences; I know that lots of people have undertaken the journey of making their own unique deck, and I'm really just seeking advice on the logistical end of it. Has anyone tried using gesso or if they found issues with the deck after time has passed. Stuff like that.

Thank you!

Can heavy-duty allergy meds (mometasone) taken in the winter change how my allergies impact me this season?

Usually when I get allergies, it's all my nose. It gets so painfully itchy and I have to rub it like crazy. Idk what I'm allergic to but it's generally outdoors stuff, would love to get tested some day on it believe me. However, this year has been... different.

I was prescribed mometasone (nasal spray) this past winter due to me getting sick non-stop for all of Fall and into Winter, ruining a few things for me that year. Doctor said something in my sinuses was inflamed, and likely kept getting me sick somehow. Idk, either way it worked and also just about drained me of all my mucus for the time I was on it.

From what I understand, it's a heavy duty allergy sinus spray effectively. I usually take flonase during the season, however this year I'll likely be avoiding allergy meds due to having to take this medication. I also figured it might help me for this allergy season, and Idk if it has or not...

Essentially, I have been having a mild rough throat for the past few days. When I kept getting sick, it would usually begin with a mild throat. I low-key got PTSD from last Fall, and generally don't want to be sick at all. I have no idea if this is my allergies or not. As again, it's always been the nose. Never before the throat. It might sound so trivial, but it's been big time stressing me out because i have no idea if it's sickness or allergies. It doesn't help that it seems to always be the same feeling wether I am outside or inside, and that where I live has the most shoddiest allergy report. I cannot find out if it's a heavy allergy day today or not, all the websites are different. Ugh. I've just been so uncertain about my body and I hate it. Where is the bloody vaccine for allergies? It's 2025, people.

Anyway, has anyone else had this experience with heavy-duty nasal sprays such as a metasone? I've only ever taken flonase prior, and honestly it does nothing much for me. It's just weird that it's now in the throat instead of the nose. I guess I should be happy it's mild, but then again that's how all colds and flu's start so naturally I am a little freaked out on it.
