Layering a lil shimmer over a neon that usually has a very flat/satiny? finish made me love this colour!
Get Lobstered looks soooo good in shadow/indirect light and it's... fine? in the sun ๐
I'm wearing:
Of course this is really a Music, Fashion, Film summer but it's a lot more difficult to make my nails a tribute to the cover art with that one! I tried layering a little gold shimmer over the top of an old neon green and I feel like this makes the neon way more pretty and wearable? Especially love that it almost seems to glow in low light like in the second photo ๐ (don't look at where I messed up on my thumb, thanks)
Any recommendations at all for a plain (no glitter, flakes, etc), preferably bright blue jelly polish that I can get in the UK or Germany? I have pink and yellow ones from Essence mini range and they're great, just can't seem to find a plain blue anywhere!
edit edit: thank you for all the suggestions!! Consensus is: Cirque have good blue jellies and outside those they seem quite hard to find here. I bought China Glaze "Isle See You Later" and I also made a blue frankenjelly! ๐
Pitaya or dragon fruit nails for summer bingo! ๐
(I see you all thinking about autumn/fall but just fyi, as a committed summer lover I will be fully clinging on to summery bright nail looks throughout August and quite possibly beyond!)
Using a silver magnetic topper (Emily de Molly - Knight in Armour) over different colours, they turned out so sweet!
Products used:
I think these are both willowherb but I'm not sure which species. (These photos were taken in the same park, so near each other but not the same spot, and they look like different plants to me). The flowers are such a nice cheerful colour.
I'm not sure what you call it but I've seen some folks here share pics of their beautiful physical nail journals? trackers? like, keeping a nice organised record of what you wore? And I like this idea but I 1. am not that organised and 2. didn't want to buy a new thing... plus I have a number of these small sketchbooks that are just bound with boring cardboard (I usually draw on the covers), so here we are! I recently "completed" this first one and it's like a fun lil polish patchwork quilt!
I just add a square (almost) every time I paint my nails, and use a not-great top coat over the top - it makes a big difference to add shine on this material which is very much not like nails! It's also kinda helpful to realise how long it would take me to use up a single bottle of polish, I thought of it like "oh I'll just use up this topcoat as I have better ones" so I really slap it on there and do multiple coats sometimes and it's still almost full ๐
Pics on the LEFT are screenshots (I hope this is allowed!) from posts in another nail sub that caught my eye recently, on the right is my nails!
The two inspiration images are different polishes but basically pale violet/lilac with sparkles and holo looked enchanting so I wanted to see what I could do using polish I had at home. Didn't achieve exact dupes, but close enough for me, and my sparkly nails are making me happy ๐ฎ
W7 "Shirley Temple", 3 coats in natural light and artificial light. I was influenced by someone else posting this shade here, just picked it up yesterday and I love it!
Layering and untrieds and nail art and enjoying what we have at home! ๐
(sorry I realise I've shared many of these here already, but looking at them all together made me happy!)
I finally completed a line on this summer bingo! ๐ Here's squiggly lines!
Not gonna lie, I did not even attempt this on my right hand, and then the unbalanced-ness was annoying me and I ended up taking it all off the same day ๐ฅฒ but it was good practice!
Pink lovers' bingo, I never forgot you! I just started new seasonal ones, fully intending to return and complete you some time, and that is still the plan ๐ Anyway, I wore this crazy shifty number this week and realised that it's a pretty good fit for "pink adjacent" - she's pink... sometimes?!
Back on my chosen summer bingo and still refusing to complete a single line apparently ๐คท today it's Pastel Rainbows! I wasn't sure how well this would work but I think they are so CUTE (my nails are as long as I let them get right now and the extra space helped ๐ ) and the "easy mode" ones on my right hand make me smile too. Thanks for another excellent prompt ๐
no bingo today, I'm just really enjoying layering polish that I had at home!
A reminder to wear those untrieds, gang! I actually put this on as a rare non-bingo mani, just wanting to try an untried, but then I retroactively decided it's perfect for "a polish that feels like summer" ๐คฉ It's a thermal (which I also didn't realise when I bought it, so it just weirded me out a bit!), the change is quite subtle but pic 2 is after holding a cold drink.
Today the prompt was "use nail stickers from your stash" and I feel quite seen, how did the bingo card know about my stash of stickers? To be fair it's not like I have loads (compared to polish...) but I NEVER use them ๐ซฃ
But I think that should really change, these are cute! However I have not yet mastered getting them where I want them/applied smoothly on my right hand, so I'm wearing a mismatched mani now with a neutral-ish shimmer on there.
