Historical home, possibly being squatted in?

Empty booze bottles everywhere in a room upstairs and a seemingly set up tv/bed area. Weird.

Small moldy home, apparently only abandoned for 2 years.

Owner's obituary states they lived here until they passed in a car accident in 2024. In fact, the car the accident occurred in was in the driveway last year. I can see it from l google street view metadata all smashed up. Did they live like this?
