Lucien refusing to let Elain fade into the background 💖

if you saw this post already, no you didn’t 😭 (I had to delete it because i lowkey hated the black background behind the text and needed to fix that ASAP 💀)

ANYWAY

I LOVE THIS MOMENT SO MUCH BECAUSE IF YOU NOTICE, the IC is never giving Elain credit for killing the King of Hybern.

And you know who the only person who ever gave Elain that credit was though? The only person who actually forced her to acknowledge what she’d done and step into the spotlight? 👀👀👀

LUCIEN.

The one man who literally looked at her and went “I heard YOUUU made the killing blow” 😭🙌

He doesn’t diminish her accomplishments. He doesn’t treat her like some helpless little sister standing in her sisters’ shadows. And he doesn’t let her quietly disappear into the background.

He sees her. He acknowledges her. He makes HER acknowledge herself. I can’t wait for their story!!! 😭💖✨

ACOTAR 6 & 7 THEORIES: CIVIL WAR IN THE NIGHT COURT?! 👀✨

So I read the ACOTAR 6 and 7 blurbs and I have a THEORY!!! 👀🤭

And with SJM’s love for having a multiverse Maasverse… hear me out.

Remember Avengers: Civil War? Bucky becomes the reason everything falls apart. Tony finds out Bucky killed his parents, wants him punished, Steve protects Bucky, and suddenly the Avengers are split into two sides fighting each other.

WHAT IF ACOTAR DOES SOMETHING SIMILAR?! 👀

Notice how SJM has been insisting in ACOSF that Rhysand has been extra cautious and nervous about losing allies? 👀 What if he doesn’t lose his allies because of some outside force… what ifffff because he’s been SO focused on protecting the Night Court from outside threats, everything starts falling apart INSIDE his own house? 😭

Like he’s constantly thinking about wars, alliances and making sure everyone stays on their side… but what if the real danger is that the people closest to him start losing trust in him?

Rhys has spent so much time being afraid that the Night Court will lose its allies…WHAT IF HE ENDS UP LOSING THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE UP THE NIGHT COURT ITSELF? 👀

Not because someone attacks Velaris.
Not because another High Lord declares war.
But because the people inside his own circle fall apart.

THAT would be such a full circle storyline for all the characters!!! 😭🔥

SO NOW BACK TO THE THEORY:

Bucky is Nesta.

Rhys finds out that Nesta gave Bryce the Mask and is FURIOUS with her. He sees it as Nesta betraying the Night Court and putting everyone in Prythian in danger.

So obviously, the Valkyries (Gwyn and Emerie) take Nesta’s side.

Cassian is stuck between Nesta and Rhys, and Azriel could also end up siding with Nesta?? Maybe… 👀

So already the Night Court starts falling apart from the inside.

BUT THEN IT GETS EVEN WORSE 😭

Helion finds out that Feysand knew he was Lucien’s father and kept it from him.

HELION WOULD LOSE IT. I could see the Day Court cutting ties with the Night Court 😭

And Lucien would obviously feel betrayed too, after finding out that Feyre and Rhysand KNEW who his real father was and never told him.

And who could take Lucien’s side?
ERIS 👀

Eris has cared about Lucien in his own complicated way, so I could totally see him standing with Lucien if everything finally blows up.

And obviously Vassa and Jurian would probably take their friend’s side too.

So now the NC is losing the humans as allies as well.

THEN YOU HAVE ELAIN!!! 👀

She has connections to both sides, and she has plenty of reasons to question everything. She could become the wildcard nobody expects… and maybe she sides with Lucien?

WHAT IFFFF after being kept out of everything by the IC for so long, she’s ANGRY that they keep making decisions and hiding secrets from her too? And after always getting left out she decides that SHE is going to choose what she wants to do and who she wants to help.

Then add Mor’s secrets and identity, and suddenly…

You don’t have one united group anymore. YOU HAVE SIDES!!!! 😭

THE NIGHT COURT IS FALLING APART.

And while everyone is busy fighting each other and dealing with their own shit, they don’t notice the REAL threat getting stronger in the background.
THANOS KOSCHEI. 😭

It would literally be Avengers: Civil War but make it Prythian. 👀👀👀

So THEN the NC has to deal with all their internal problems, fix their shit, rebuild their alliances and basically have EVERYONE finally come clean about their secrets so they can actually unite and fight the big bad.

AND WHO KNOWS??? 👀

Maybe Koschei opens a gate and brings in villains from the other books??? With SJM’s whole multiverse Maasverse setup I can definitely see her pulling out the ULTIMATE MULTIVERSE CARD and suddenly everyone has to come together to fight for Prythian??

What do you think???? 👀🤭 Obviously I haven’t thought everything through yet lol I’m still running on pure adrenaline 😭 so if anyone has more to add to this theory, I’d LOVE to hear it!! 👀🔥

“Scattered to every corner of Prythian” ELUCIEN 👀🙌😭🩷

THEORY: ELUCIEN FORCED PROXIMITY!!!!
Where they have to travel across Prythian, work together, solve shit together and literally fall in love along the way??? 😭🙌💗🔥

We’ve been saying there’s a possibility of Elain and Lucien being thrown into spending weeks/months TOGETHER, slowly getting to know each other outside of everyone else’s expectations, and then realizing somewhere along the way that they’re falling for each other??? HELLO?????

“Scattered to every corner of Prythian” has me thinking we’re getting the slow burn, forced proximity, road trip across Prythian Elucien!!!!! Give me them getting stuck together, bickering, protecting each other, accidentally becoming best friends, and then one day looking at each other like… oh. OH.😭💗🔥🙌

ELUCIEN FANDOM HOW ARE WE FEELING? 🔥🙌

We said the covers would be gradient, we said the spindle was an easter egg, and we said books 6 and 7 would be promoted and marketed together.

All of this is currently happening, so how is everybody feeling? Are you happy? Stressed? Excited? 😭
I for one am absolutely LIVING for it.

If the rumors are true and it’s a Valkyrie book, a part of me will be sad that it’s not Elain and Elucien centric, but I still think they’ll play a huge part in these books and will be endgame!!! 👀💗✨

Anyone else clock that spindle in the new ACOTAR merch? 👀 Maybe the Sleeping Beauty retelling theory is still very much alive… 👀🪡✨

Not to sound like that meme with the guy frantically explaining everything across a board and trying to connect every single theory 😭 but Sleeping Beauty has been a recurring theory in the Elucien fandom for SO LONG, and now that we’ve been talking about Koschei potentially possessing Elain and putting her to sleep… 👀 here are some theories about it if you haven’t been caught up:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Elucien/s/nmhbdEoS25
https://www.reddit.com/r/Gwynriel/s/rPUHPML55A
https://www.reddit.com/r/Elucien/s/ZIXyAGhx3a

ANYWAYSSS tell me why we’ve had the Sleeping Beauty parallels floating around for YEARS, and NOW I find it VERY suspicious that there’s a literal SPINDLE in the new ACOTAR merch??? (A Court of Thorns and Roses Official Still Life with Dread Trove 1000 Piece Puzzle) 👀👀👀👀

A SPINDLE.

Of all the objects they could’ve included lol.

Obviously a spindle doesn’t automatically confirm anything, and it could absolutely just be a generic ACOTAR aesthetic choice. BUT considering how long the Sleeping Beauty theory has existed within the Elucien fandom + the current theories about Koschei potentially possessing Elain + the possibility of Elain being placed under some kind of spell or enchanted sleep…

I’m just saying… the timing is VERY interesting 👀
Againnnn, I’m not saying SJM is hiding a Sleeping Beauty retelling or any spoilers in plain sight. It could be something, it could be a whole lot of absolutely nothing (which is the bigger probability TBH) but I am saying the Elucien board is getting dangerously crowded 😭👀✨

Hear me out..what if Elain is the IC traitor… and doesn’t even know it? 👀

So what if Elain actually IS the traitor in the IC… but not willingly? While everyone’s theorizing about Mor, Amren and Nesta, what if the one person nobody suspects is actually the traitor? 👀

There’s a pretty famous theory going around lately, and it really stayed with me 👀 If you want to read more about it, check it out here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Elucien/s/CVxBqv15LR

But like what if Koschei has been in Elain’s head this entire time, manipulating her subconscious and controlling her actions without her even realizing it? 👀

Because Elain being revealed as the traitor and unknowingly being used as Koschei’s vessel would EATTTTTT. Especially if she’s missing pieces of time, or doesn’t remember certain things she’s done, similar to what happened with >!Dorian in TOG!<

Ever since ACOFAS and ACOSF, I’ve had this feeling that Elain has been suspended in time and nobody is really noticing it. At first I thought maaaaybe SJM just wasn’t showing us much of Elain because she was saving everything for her book. But what if it’s actually deeper than that?

In ACOSF, it’s hinted at that Elain might be hiding something because she disappears every now and then. And nobody knows where she goes. What if those disappearances aren’t as what everyone assumes? What if Koschei is in her head? What if she’s losing that time? What if Koschei has been slowly getting into her head, taking control in ways she doesn’t even realize and those missing pieces of time are actually moments when he’s using her?

AND HEAR ME OUT!!! What if Koschei is the surprise POV? 👀

Because remember when SJM called Elain a “walking spoiler”? What if the reason Elain is such a walking spoiler is because what’s going on inside her head right now is the biggest spoiler of all?

Maybe Elain’s POV isn’t just going to reveal her thoughts. Maybe it’s going to reveal that her thoughts aren’t entirely her own. Imagine starting the book thinking we’re finally getting Elain’s POV, only for us to get Koschei’s!!! Who has been slowly taking over her mind from the shadows.

I’m not saying this is what SJM is doing. I’m saying…
hear me out. Because what if Elain has been unknowingly compromised by Koschei and has been fighting a war inside her own mind this entire time???

Now THATTTT would render me speechless!! I just want a massive and unhinged plot for Elain. Give me Elain being at the center of something HUGE. 😭🔥

“the cauldron chooses the mates” canon or collective hallucination? 😂💀

How are some people still arguing that the cauldron is what decides on mating bonds when the books themselves go out of their way to establish that nobody actually knows what determines them?

Like some people have a BIG thing coming for them 😭 Every time I see someone say “the cauldron chooses the mates” I just know they haven’t picked up another SJM series. This is honestly my biggest tell and their biggest giveaway. 😭

Mind you there’s no cauldron in either CC or TOG, so SJM has already shown us a world where mating bonds exist without the cauldron being involved. That alone should make people pause and question… and yet… 💀 This isn’t even some piece of lore you need to dig through to find lol. It’s right there in the books. Rhys literally says he doesn’t know if it’s the cauldron, the Mother, the Urd, or something else entirely that decides on mating bonds. The ACOTAR characters themselves don’t have a definitive answer. Yet somehow the fandom has decided that “the cauldron chooses the mates” is an established fact rather than an assumption.

I genuinely cannot wait to see the reactions when the whole “the cauldron chooses the mates” argument gets debunked in literal and explicit words because apparently people need to be handed the exact wording before they’ll accept what the books are telling them (Because apparently context, three different series and the characters OPENLY admitting they don’t know aren’t enough 😭😭😭)

And once that assumption falls apart, so much of the “the cauldron is corrupted therefore the Elucien bond is corrupted” logic falls apart with it. 😂

SJM never even meant “corrupted” in the way some people are interpreting it. She never said the cauldron being “corrupted” means it’s “wickedly” assigning mates or creating false bonds. People have taken one concept out of context, filled in all the blanks themselves and then started treating their interpretation like established canon. And it’s going to be funny when this supposedly “corrupted” cauldron is eventually shown to not have a single hand in deciding who mates with whom.

Like am I crazy? Is it really that hard to understand? Do we need SJM to put it in bold and underline it, or have every character in Prythian repeat it three times before we can finally retire the “the cauldron chooses the mates” argument?

“A Feast fit for Foxes” moodboard 🦊🤭🔥🧡

Obviously I read the “A feast fit for Foxes” line, and immediately got inspired to make a moodboard around Elucien because Elain is the ONLY thing on that fox’s menu right now 🦊🔥

A feast for foxes? Pleaseeeee. We all know exactly which feast this fox would be showing up for 🤭🍽️ And judging by the fire running through his blood, I don’t think he’s planning on leaving hungry. 👀🔥😋

Happy August and soon to be autumn everyone!!! 🍂🦊🧡

Do we think Lucien is getting a haircut in the new ACOTAR books? 🦊🧡

I keep seeing people say SJM is probably going to give him the Rowan treatment and chop his hair, and I genuinely don’t know what to think. 😭

Will I hate it if she does? No. I’ll complain for approximately 5 minutes and then convince myself it was the best decision she’s ever made because it’s Lucien. I’ll eat up whatever she gives us.

But… I really really need her to keep his hair long. It’s part of the brand. The depressed heir with the flowing red hair. 💅✨ Like please… let one fantasy man keep his luxurious and flowing red hair. Not everyone needs the brooding warrior chop.

Cut his trauma. Cut his enemies. Cut literally anything else. Leave the hair aloneeeeee. 🕯️🧡

Azriel’s “She doesn’t need anything” line about Elain is one of the dumbest and most tone deaf lines in the series 🎤🙄

I think the “she doesn’t need anything” line is one of the dumbest lines in the entire series, and the way people romanticize it genuinely makes me????? 💀

Imagine your friend is clearly struggling. They’ve isolated themselves, barely talk to anyone, spend all day alone, aren’t engaging with life and everyone around them is worried.

You ask “Should we get them help? Do they need a doctor? Therapy? Maybe just someone to talk to?”
And some guy goes “She doesn’t need anything. She’s fine.” 💀💀💀💀💀💀

*the biggest eye roll and the biggesttttt ICK* 🙄

No because what do you mean she doesn’t need anything? She very obviously does. She needs support. She needs healing. She needs people who actually see that she’s struggling instead of pretending everything is magically okay. She needs someone to explain what’s happening to her.

Then fast forward two years and the canon narrative itself confirms what many readers had already picked up on… she wasn’t fine. She’s still withdrawn, still grieving, still carrying trauma and multiple characters acknowledge that she needs time, support and a chance to heal.

So why is this line constantly treated like it’s some profound declaration of love? 💀

To me, it isn’t romantic. It’s dismissive. It’s the equivalent of looking at someone who’s visibly drowning and saying “Nah they’re good.”

The irony is that the story itself underminesssss the hell out of that statement LMAO. If she truly “didn’t need anything” then why does her healing continue for books afterward? Why are characters still worried about her? Why is her emotional journey still unresolved? It’s almost as if SJM planted that line there as dramatic irony and to intentionally showcase the disconnect between Azriel’s “perception” of Elain and Elain’s actual emotional state.

And honestly, this sums up my biggest issue with Elriel as a dynamic. To me, Azriel has a habit of alwayssss speaking for Elain instead of letting Elain speak for herself. Whether it’s insisting she doesn’t need anything or answering questions about what she wants or needs, I find it so weird IMO because Elain has her own voice, her own agency and her own perspective. I’d rather hear her tell us what she wants than have someone else decide it on her behalf.

When people ask what Elain needs, what Elain wants, or what Elain is feeling, it often feels like Azriel is the one providing the answer. “She doesn’t need anything” But… how do you know? Did Elain say that? Did we ever hear those words come from her?

That’s what bothers me. Elain is her own character. With her own thoughts, her own grief, her own desires, and her own voice. I want to hear her perspective, not someone else’s interpretation of it.

One of the biggest themes of Elain’s arc is finding her voice after having so much of her life decided for her. First by her family, then by the cauldron, then by everyone constantly assuming they know what’s best for her. So when another character confidently declares what she does or doesn’t need without actually asking her, it doesn’t come across as romantic to me, it just feels like another person speaking over her. AGAIN. 🙄🚩

That’s why I’ve neverrrrr understood why this moment is held up as some “pinnacle” of romance. For me, romance is listening. It’s asking. It’s respecting someone’s agency enough to let them tell you what they need instead of deciding it on their behalf.

The fact that the story later makes it ABUNDANTLY clear that Elain wasn’t okay only reinforces that feeling for me. The statement wasn’t proven right lmao, it was proven wrong. Elain is still not okay. Elain still needs help. SJM confirmed that Elain is literally going through a lot of shit. And that’s exactly why I’ve never been able to romanticize it the way some people do.

You can accept someone exactly as they are while still acknowledging that they’re hurting. Those two things are not mutually exclusive. Recognizing that someone needs support isn’t disrespectful, it can be one of the most compassionate things you can do.

That’s why this line has never and will never read as romantic to me. It reads as someone confidently speaking over another person’s needs, and the story itself later shows that those needs were very real. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The All-Seeing Eyes of Prythian 👁️✨🌕🤍

It’s so poetic that both Lucien and Elain possess all-seeing eyes. 👁️❤️‍🔥✨

Lucien’s mechanical eye can see through glamour, spells, wards and hidden magic. His eyes can see through deception and reveal what’s concealed.

Elain’s seer powers allow her to see the future, see visions and sense things before anyone else does.

One sees through magic. The other sees through time. ✨

It’s such an intentional parallel. They compliment each other so beautifully. I love how their powers don’t just rely on physical strength, they’re about perception. About seeing what no one else can.

Lucien uncovers what is hidden in the present. Elain uncovers what is hidden in the future.

Two mates with powerful sight. Two pairs of eyes that refuse to be fooled. Two people constantly overlooked by everyone around them, yet gifted with the ability to perceive more than anyone else in the room.

The all-seeing mates of Prythian. ❤️👁️✨

Four songs that capture Elain’s Spirit IMO 💗🌷🌞🕯️

These are 4 songs that always remind me so much of Elain, or just capture her vibe in a way I haven’t really seen anyone connect to her yet. ✨💕🕯️

They all have this whimsical and haunting theme that feels so herrrrrr to me:

• The Skye Boat Song
• Jenny of Oldstones by Florence + the Machine
• Breath of Life by Florence + the Machine
• Alice by Avril Lavigne

They’re all ethereal, melancholic and quietly powerful like songs for someone who’s constantly underestimated, caught between worlds, carrying grief with grace and slowly growing into their own strength. VERYYY Elain Archeron coded if you ask me. 💗🌷🌞✨

I’m bored of waiting so here’s my ACOTAR 6 conspiracy theory that nobody asked for

Starting to think the reason Bloomsbury and SJM haven’t started marketing ACOTAR 6 yet could be because it takes place during old events, but from a new POV. And if that’s the case, they can’t really start marketing it now because realistically, it wouldn’t generate nearly as much hype as a book covering entirely new events.

Like imagine trying to market ACOTAR 6 to the general audience as “Hey! Here’s a book about events you already technically know happened, but now from this character’s POV!” 😭

Which is why maybeeeee they’re waiting for ACOTAR 7 to be closer so they can market both books together??

And honestly, they probably aren’t too worried about ACOTAR 6 not selling because… well, you literally can’t read ACOTAR 7 without reading ACOTAR 6 first 😭

Once ACOTAR 7 starts being marketed and people realize it’s the continuation of the story, everyone will pick up ACOTAR 6 anyway. So ACOTAR 6 could almost function as the setup book that gets a massive boost from the hype around ACOTAR 7.

Like if ACOTAR 7 is marketed as the next big chapter of the ACOTAR story, and it’s clear that ACOTAR 6 is the book that sets up everything leading into it, then people are naturally going to go back and buy/read ACOTAR 6. They don’t need ACOTAR 6 to be the biggest book ever on its own because ACOTAR 7 can essentially create the demand for it.

And honestly from a publishing perspective, that would kind of make sense to me? 👀

You could release ACOTAR 6 as the “here’s what actually happened and here’s the missing context” book, and then ACOTAR 7 as the “now that you know everything, here’s where the story actually goes” book.

It could literally be the bridge between the old ACOTAR story and the new ACOTAR story.

And I’m not saying I think this is definitely what’s happening because I genuinely have no idea 😭 This is literally just me looking at the information we have and trying to make it make sense in my head.

But this theory is the only thing I can think of that would explain why there seems to be so much secrecy around it, why the marketing hasn’t really started, and why it could potentially be connected to a larger story that continues into ACOTAR 7 and ACOTAR 8.

Anyway, this could be completely wrong and I could be clowning myself into another dimension, but I needed to share the brain fart 😭🤡

Elucien Week Day 3: “Peak Yearning” - A goodbye full of yearning and longing. 🔐✨👁️

Had to jump into Day 3 of Elucien Week with my favorite Elucien scene everrrrr. 🥀✨💕

I think this was PEAK yearning in the entire series. (sorry not sorry) Literally not a single scene in the entire series held this amount of yearning and longing IMO.

They LOCKED eyes. Neither of them said anything. And yet somehow the entire scene was screaminggggg with so much yearning and everything they couldn’t say. 😭

The way Lucien hides his longing and sadness behind that bow… and the way Elain takes that half step toward the stairs as if she might call him back?????? 😭😭

They were both just standing there, yearning in complete silence, while we’re left to suffer. LEGENDARYYYYYY. Give me 10 more of this PLEASE. ❤️

FULL SCENE BELOW:

“That silent offer of not only transportation.
Before that dark wind swept in, Lucien looked back.
Not to me, I realized, to someone behind me.
Pale and thin, Elain stood atop the stairs.
Their gazes locked and held.
But Elain said nothing. Did not so much as take one step downward.
Lucien inclined his head in a bow, the movement hiding the gleam in his eye, the longing and sadness.
And when Lucien turned to signal to Rhys to go … He did not glance back at Elain.
Did not see the half step she took toward the stairs, as if she’d speak to him. Stop him.”

Elucien go camping & Lucien teaches Elain to fish 🏕️🐟✨💛

👀 I’ve been sus about that notebook SJM wrote her ACOTAR 6,7 & 8 draft notes in ever since she posted it. The cover had a little tent by a lake with mountains in the background, whichhhh has always screamed Elucien aesthetic to me. 🌲🏕️🏔️ It just gives nature loving and peaceful getaway vibes.

So anyway, this moodboard was inspired by the artwork on that notebook and my headcanon of Lucien catching their dinner with his bare hands while Elain watches him. 🎣🦊🌸

Of course, watching turns into him teaching her, which inevitably turns into both of them taking a spectacular tumble into the water. And welllllll… let’s just say they end up soaked in more ways than one. 😌💦✨👀

All credit for the gorgeous Elucien artwork featured in this moodboard goes to @Electra.rt 🤍 It’s one of my all time favorite Elucien pieces, and I absolutely loooooove it.

Elain’s “choice” 💖

It’s always “What about Elain’s choice?” But Elain did make a choice, she gave the necklace back to Azriel.

Whether people like that choice or not, it happened. It’s in the text. Yet so many fans act like it never did because it doesn’t support the story and ship they want lol.

Instead they keep drawing her wearing the very necklace she returned, as if that scene doesn’t exist. They keep insisting Elain is “secretly in love with Azriel” 💀, even though the narrative shows her returning his gift, and never trying to approach him again in ACOSF. Then they turn around and claim they’re the ones defending Elain’s agency.

How does that make sense? 👀

If Elain’s agency only matters when it supports one specific ship, then it isn’t really about respecting her choices. It’s about deciding which of her actions “count” and which ones should be ignored.

And here’s what’s funnyyyy… you know who Elain’s “choice” has never actually said no to? Lucien. 🥰

She never returned his gifts. She never told Lucien to stay away. She never asked anyone in the IC to stop allowing him to visit. She never rejected the bond herself, and she never explicitly rejected him.

Whether that ultimately means they’ll end up together is a separate discussion, but the text simply doesn’t show Elain making a definitive choice against Lucien.

Meanwhile when it comes to Azriel, Elain made an on page decision by returning the necklace, and somehow THAT’S the choice some people insist on erasing.

That moment is always explained away, ignored or rewritten because it doesn’t fit their preferred narrative.

So when non Elucien shippers keep saying “Respect Elain’s choice” I have to ask, which choice? The one they acknowledge only when it’s convenient? Or the one that’s actually shown on the page? 😊

If we’re going to respect Elain’s agency, then we should respect all of her actions, not just the ones that support a particular ship. You can’t talk about Elain’s agency while actively dismissing one of the clearest choices she actually makes in the books.

As it stands, Elain hasn’t made a definitive choice regarding Lucien, buuuuuut she has made an on page choice regarding Azriel, and that’s the one so many people pretend never happened.

So again, what about Elain’s choice? 👀💖
