Kia EV4 shortcuts button?

I’m from the UK, and typically turn off the lane keeping aid, speed limit alert, speed limit change alert and driver alert systems whenever I get in the variety of hire cars I’m borrowing currently.

But now I’m looking at getting a lease vehicle for four years I’d prefer to have a car where I can easily switch this off with the use of one or maybe two buttons, rather than multiple difference touch screen sub menus as is the case on Ford, Peugeot Mercedes and VW vehicles I’ve had recently.

Can I favourite switching off these features each time I start the car (can be up to 10 times per day for work) by assigning them all to the same button/shortcut? Or can only one function be assigned to each button?

Replastering 1950s house

We have a 1950s house which is a masonry cavity wall construction and the outside is rendered. The previous owners added cavity wall insulation, which we have paperwork for.

We are renovating our bathroom and asked whether we need breathable plaster but the plumber said he doesn’t know about that and for us to look into it. The plasterer is booked through the plumber who is happy to forward in any suggestions from us.

We have removed wallpaper on two internal walls and the other two walls have wet board that will be removed when the plumbers start work in a week. One wall looks like pink gypsum, and one has a pure white material. A sample was taken to confirm there is no asbestos, but doesn’t tell us what it is. We removed polystyrene tiles from the ceiling, that looks like gypsum too.

Our plan is to have a tile over the bath on one external wall, and a half height tile on the other external wall. There will also be full height tile on the shower end of the bath which is an internal wall. The last wall is internal and will be painted. We recently had a good quality extractor fan installed. The old radiator is being replaced with a large chrome towel rail radiator.

Do we need breathable plaster, such as lime, or can we use standard plaster?

Do you change your own quartz batteries?

As the title says, so you replace batteries on your own quartz watches yourself?

I have a Seiko chronograph and a Certina diver chronograph that both are in need of a new battery. I am toying with investing in the tools to DIY replacing it, and accepting that they won’t be pressure tested for waterproofness?

While I don’t go diving with them, the reassurance that they’ll be okay if splashed while washing hands or out in the rain would be nice, but both chain and independent dealers are now charging quite a lot for a battery replacement and pressure check.

Thanks for your thoughts :)

Should this new towel radiator be returned?

We are having a new bathroom installed in 10 days and are going through all the items to check for marks/defects etc.

This chrome curved towel radiator is from Stelrad direct and has some imperfections which are really rough to the finger.

Not pictured also is what looks like a a tiny divot in one or two places. The chrome is still covering all areas, but we are aware it’s only a very thin covering.
We can’t tell if we are being overly fussy, or have reason to ask for an exchange?

When did BTCC cars go to single wiper blades?

It was noticeable at Knockhill that every car had just the single wiper blade on the front, whether centrally mounted or offset to one corner of the window. But when did they change from the conventional two blades?

Boat style planters?

My wife and I like the idea of using an old rowing boat/dinghy as a planter in our front or rear garden for flowers (dahlias, marigolds, winter pansies, perhaps a statement in the middle like a rose?)
Something smaller in size, probably 1 or 2 person capacity when it was used as intended.

My thought process so far is:
Wood - natural product and looks nicer, but liable to rotting.
Fibreglass - won’t rot, but doesn’t look as nice.

I presume whichever material we chose it would need a drainage hole or two?

Has anyone done similar and can share advice? Where would be best to look for a boat for such an application? Obviously it no longer needs to float, but we also don’t want one so decrepit that it just looks tatty.

Just how portable are the portable AC machines?

I know they tend to be 20-30Kgs, and there will be the faff of setting up the hoses in different rooms for different windows. But realistically can a portable unit be used for a few hours/all day in a lounge, unplugged and taken upstairs and then just switched back on in the bedroom?
It’s the inevitable tilting of the unit and needing refrigerant to settle before use that I am mainly thinking of.

So far we have been getting by with a desk fan and tower fan, but with the way summers are getting hotter, with higher peaks and longer heatwaves AC is more of an inevitability than a nice to have in my opinion.
A split would be first choice, but with a whole house to decorate, new bathroom needed and fertility treatment to pay for, the £3-5k on a 2-4 room system is just too much, hence considering the portable units for a few years.
