Interesting interaction with Leah

I chat with you, you tell me that I smell.

Then, you ask me to hang out with you.

I was busy and had a lot to do, so I said no (plus, saying that I smelled didn't help)

That night - your friendship level went up.

I guess she respects it when people say no to her? </headcanon>

All of a sudden - issues with Clonezilla

For a while now we've been using Clonezilla to image machines. Typically have 2 USB thumb drives (local dev), a boot drive and one with the image.

Yesterday, everything was running normally.

Today, every time I image a computer when I boot to Windows (11) it goes into a repair mode and then says "You device ran into a problem and couldn't be repaired". It got to the point that I took one of the computers I imaged yesterday and it's getting the same error.

It sees the drive in the computer partitioned, nvme0n1p1 (p2, p3, p4) and the USB as sda1 - I select sda1 as the /home/partimag

I select Beginner mode

Restoredisk (not partitions- it's created as a disk)

When it comes to select the drive, it sees nvme0n1 and I select that

-k1 create the partitions proportionally (the destination drive is always larger than the source)

When it's about to start I see this (I don't remember seeing it yesterday):

Target disk nvme0n1 does not exist in the image saved from disk(s) sda

This is even happening on a computer I imaged yesterday with no issues. I re-copied the image files from our server to the thumb drive, I downloaded and created a bootable USB with the most recent Clonezilla ISO, I've even tried a secure wipe in the BIOS and it didn't help.

I even used different thumb drives with no luck.

Secure boot is off

Fast boot is off

The source image has not been updated recently.

A few different model laptops (all HP)

Any suggestions?

Alright Star Trek and Stargate fans - who had more sass with their "raise a finger" moment - Kirk or Thor?

Looking for a purchasing and inventory management platform

I work in the IT department for a small rural hospital and my upper management has the "asset tagging" bug in their ear again (and, sadly, they don't know what can be involved, they think "just slap an asset tag on it and all of our problems are solved!").

While I haven't done much in the past (we can track our computers via an Excel spreadsheet and our asset tracking platform) we're now getting more and more devices that cannot be tracked through the same way.

In the past I haven't had good luck finding something that met at least most of what I'd like (and add in that my budget for this is usually any dropped change I find at a local drive-through).

I'm looking to be able to track (mostly serialized) assets from ordering - receiving - deploying - retirement.

Thank you all!

Edit: I should add, we use Zoho Service Desk + for ticketing and I've tried to use the ordering / asset aspect of it but due to licensing (up to 1,000 devices total) it wouldn't suit our needs (even though purchasing loved the order request emails it would send out).

How do you handle devices that have been offline for a period of time?

A new policy has been introduced on how we handle devices that have been offline (haven't talked to AD, patching system, or our antivirus in a specific period of time). Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about it.

How do others handle this? If a device hasn't talked to AD (device login, user login, etc.) or antivirus (updates, etc.) for xx weeks / months? (Like a laptop that someone put in a drawer somewhere and forgot about it, etc..)?

Is anything automated (device is disabled after, 60, 90, 180 days?)?

Every day I deal with this.

(often this person is further over the line)

I am one of the first people at work and I park in the first spot. It’s wider and I park as far to the side as I can because often I need to get equipment into my car for our other sites.

Them parking like this can make it hard to get the equipment in.

I‘m debating if I should park very close to the line one day. (and use the drivers side to load equipment)

In XC:2 we learn that Blades eventually turn into Titans.

In XC:Torna Azurda comments he was born in the Torna titan - but doesn't remember his life as a blade

AFAIK we have no information on what kind of Blade he was before he was a Titan?

I wonder - what kind of blade was he?

Speculation: Could we have a prequel down the road with him as a blade? (Even if it's a FC/FR sized DLC)

On a side note, I just looked up his VA (Sean Barrett) - and wow I'm impressed.
