What LOK character do you look most forward to in Avatar Legends The Fighting Game?

What LOK character do you look most forward to in Avatar Legends The Fighting Game?

Avatar Legends The Fighting Game is awesome, however, I think it would benefit from more LOK characters. So far, the only characters in the base game are Korra, Zaheer and Nightmare Korra (her book 4 PTSD version).

Bolin and Lin are confirmed to come as DLC in the first year. Tenzin, Amon, Kuvira and Asami are all voting options (aside from Bumi) for the last character to come in the first year.

What character are you looking forward most of those (having a chance at) making it into the game in the first year? Or are there any other characters that you would want to see added?

Year 1 DLC! Who do you think comes first and who do you WANT first?

Tagah is announced to come this fall as free DLC, which means he’s probably first. But who do you think realistically will come out first after Tagah? And who do you WANT to come out first?

Of course there’s also the vote character, but I am currently assuming this character will be last.

I really like Nisha’s design

The outfit and the colours are very cool. Also the hair. I just love her design.

What are the must-have ATLA characters still missing in your opinion?

I’m curious which characters you guys consider essential additions from ATLA (Aang’s era) that aren’t already part of the base game or confirmed DLC.

By “must-have” I don’t mean characters who would simply be cool or fun to have. I mean characters where, based on their importance to the story and the Avatar universe, you’d look at the roster and think: “They should definitely be in the game.”

For example, if Azula wasn’t already in the game, I’d consider her an obvious must-have because she’s such an important character to the overall story. Same with someone like Iroh.

On the other hand, someone like Hama would probably fall more into the “nice to have” category. She’s a cool character and could probably make for a really interesting fighter, but she only appears in one episode and doesn’t have nearly the same importance to the overall story.

So, which ATLA characters do you think are genuinely essential and should be in the game based on their story relevance? Or do you think we’ve already covered most of the essential ATLA characters, and that the characters still missing are mostly “nice to have” additions?

Love playing against villains! Which one would you like to see added?

I really love playing against villains. It makes matches much more fun for some reason.

Confirmed villains in roster so far are:

🔥 Ozai and Azula
🌪️ Zaheer (Red Lotus) and Tagah
Also Ty Lee (kind off) and Nightmare Korra (more or less)

There’s a lot of villains left, also in the Earth and Water category as you can see in the image.

Which one would you like to see added eventually?

Amon design idea

I've been thinking about how they could design Amon as a character. I'm focusing more on the overall creative idea of how he'd function than on specific moves or gameplay mechanics.

The character has two modes: secret mode (Amon) and exposed mode (Noatak).

In secret mode, he does not use any (blood)bending in his moveset. He uses chi blocking and other non bending combat moves and is also evasive like he is in the show. The goal of this mode is to make him fight like he was before being exposed as a bloodbender.

Now, his super or ultimate could have strong bloodbending attacks. If he uses any of those, he gets into exposed mode. In exposed mode, his moveset also contains (blood)bending attacks. The goal of this mode is to make him fight more like when he was fighting with Korra and Mako.

The player could choose himself if he think it’s worth it to go from secret mode into exposed mode by using his super/ultimate.

(If this is too complex, he could also just switch the modes when he loses a round like Azula?)

Supports
Just like Azula, we could have supports that permanently keeps him in a mode.
- Luitenant or equalist: Amon is always in secret mode (would be fun to let the support react to him bloodbending anyway)
- Tarlok: Amon starts in secret mode and can convert to exposed mode.
- Yakone: Amon is always in exposed mode.

What do you think? How would you design Amon in the game?

Can we take a moment to appreciate how beautiful the music is already?

The Avatar universe music has been touching my soul, especially in The Legend of Korra. I am so happy that Jeremy Zuckerman is back to do the music for this show, and the trailer music really has that something already. Combined with the scenes we are seeing, Pavi and Nisha meeting, them hugging, Pavi being taken away (?) and screaming, Pavi meeting Jae, it’s just beautiful combined with the music.

I am so curious to hear what beautiful pieces Jeremy has created for this show. Can’t wait.

I am having a lot of fun (as a non FG player)

So, as a really big fan of ATLA and LOK I was very curious to play this game. Although it seemed intimidating (which it still is at times) I am really having a really good time.

I only really played with Korra (and a little bit Zaheer) and I was able to win 60% of matches against the CPU, so I am basically on CPU level I guess. I am trying not to button mash constantly, but actually trying to do some of the moves. It is really hard for me to do any special or super move though. I am not getting the hang of it AT ALL.

But most important (for me), it really captures the Avatar spirit that I love so much. I recognise bending moves, jokes, nods, animations. My favourite Avatar book is LOK Book 3 (with the Red Lotus) and when I play Korra against Zaheer with the Red Lotus theme on the background, I really get that same feeling I had when I watched that amazing season for the first time.

I know the game is kinda launched unfinished, but I hope that they will find time soon to fix everything and that we can focus on how beautifully made and fun this game actually is. I hope we can enjoy it for many years to come with many great characters.

Could they be planning something related to the movie release?

(Tagah screenshot from trailer)

The movie releases the 25th on Paramount Plus. We need to pay special attention to the Avatar panel at SDCC. Do you think they could be onto something movie related?

Do you think it would have made more sense to make the Dark Avatar State eyes black?

For some reason, I always found it quite strange why Unalaq had red/orange eyes during his Dark Avatar State. I understood why they did it, because it does not really look like it’s glowing, but if you look at Ravaa and Vaatu designs (and the white eyes during the original Avatar State) it only makes sense that the “glow” would be black.

What do you think?

Does this game ever go on sale on PS?

I loved playing COD WW2, and I would love to return to the game. Do you guys know if there is still a good sale from time to time?

And is there still enough people in the multiplayer?

Thanks!

How I would pick year 2 to 4 roster (if Amon wins the vote for year 1)

Disclaimer: I am not saying Amon is going to win the vote, I just picked one to finish the roster.

This is how I would design the Year 2 to 4 roster if Amon would win the vote. If another character wins, they can be swapped with Amon (all other vote options are included as well).

I looked at ATLA/LOK representation per year, category balance (water, earth, fire, air, avatar, nonbender) of the roster, character uniqueness and popularity based on this sub.

Please devs, include a theme like this in the game! (chaka chaka chaka)

The game already has some really great music in my opinion. I absolutely love the Azula, Katara and Korra themes and I am excited to hear the other ones.

Having a theme like "Agni Kai" would go so hard. I'd love to play this game with a track that captures the same spirit. To me, this song has always been the embodiment of Avatar battles.

Honourable mentions with the same vibe:
- Blue Spirit Rescue
- Soundtrack that plays during the Dragon Dance Scene

I just love how unique each Korra villain was!

I love how each villain was unique in terms of ideology, appearance, (sub)bending style, and just overall vibe.

I want both… voting Kuvira or Amon?

Who should I vote? I NEED both Kuvira and Amon in the roster.

u/dribdirb — 1 month ago

How would you feel about Unalaq being added?

Unalaq is not exactly the most popular Kora villain. However, I think they could make a very interesting and unique character. Aside from that, Unalaq is a waterbender, and we desperately need more waterbenders in the roster.

So, despite him potentially not being your favourite character, would you think he’d be a nice addition to the game? What would you love to see if they make him a character?

How realistic is another DLC year past year 1 DLC?

I see everybody talking about how this will probably end up as a discord fighter and that fighting games don’t have longevity in general. I could be wrong, I’m not familiar with FG.

But I also see people talking about what kind of DLC should be added after year 1 DLC.

So my question is, how realistic is it that we will have more years of DLC after the first year? How does it compare to other FG?
