8 Biz days post layoff got the Job

Thank you all for engaging with me over the past few days.

Interviewed with several companies, but ultimately have decided to go back into carsales. It is with the largest Chevy dealership (family owned) in my city. Ultimately I have been doing a lot of soul searching and I have to say that as a person with AuADHD the short sales cycle is ultimately the right thing for me.

I was really hesitant to do it because of the hours, but I am just so burnt out from cold calling hospitals that I am really looking forward to being able to sell a product that people are actually excited about.

Thank you for the support r/sales

AE role with Fisher Investments?

I need a job but I just don't think this is the one😅

Would love to hear feedback from anyone who has worked there, but it sounds like an absolute meat grinder, 200-300 cold calls a day! Base salary that decreases each month all the way down to $30k/year! And you have to wear an F***ing suit!!!

The recruiter could not even tell me % of reps on goal or what exactly the metrics were.

I think I am going to have to take my chances with the Chevy dealership.

Day 7-ish after lay off 4 interviews lined up.

So far ZipRecruiter has been my friend in all of this. (Had 2 recruiters reach out to me after finding my resume there)

Yes I have been leveraging my network as best I can, but I also want to change industries.

Have 4 interviews lined up this week!

I had one this morning with a certain massive company. Was not something I am used to but I think I managed to get through it alright🤷 we will see.

Thursday is my most exciting interview with an enterprise server parts distributor.

Day actively applying for jobs Killing It

It is Day 3 I already have 2 initial interviews lined up 1 today and 1 next Tuesday.

I have noticed a lot of companies using SMOOTH language to try and make it seem like these positions are not just brutal SDR/BDA roles.... But I need a pay check and I have track record of doing just above average, (you know enough to keep management off your back but also not enough to lose your sanity)

Started writing a short story about the Devil Guppy, he is a demon fish from the Caribbean who is captured by diver.... Then through circumstances the fish gets flushed down the toilet with bag of cocaine, mutates into a Godzilla size monster and starts destroying Miami.

*** It is good to know that even if they are not great jobs there are some out there unlike what is said on the recruiting hell sub****

Day 2 of actively applying for jobs.

Updated my resume yesterday applied to half a dozen jobs and surprisingly I did not get a bunch of auto rejections.

I used Gemini to help me fluff and re-word several things.

Which I think helped. I did not just copy paste I generally take what the out put and do a little bit of rewording to make it sound more human.

I think this helped, before it was redone I was getting near instant auto rejections.

Have a prospect for something work in the interim potentially warehouse work. I am worried what happens if inge the job and actually enjoy warehouse work 🤣(not with Amazon or make sure you die retailer)

Just got Fired no PIP

Just got fired no PIP. Had warning surprised it didn't happen sooner 🤷. Surprisingly my pipeline is the strongest it has been in months and I have 2 large deals that I was supposed to hear back about on Tuesday... Which I told my VP to see if he would give me until then...

I have been working in Retained Physician Recruitment B2B.... The market has been brutal over the last 6 months my team has routinely only hit 45-50% of its goal.

I even read an article saying that last month 77000 jobs were cut in healthcare.

If anyone has any leads for something that is NOT related retained physician recruitment! I will literally do anything but that

ADHD and Cold Calls 🤣🤣🤣

I have to call a ton of hospitals and doctors offices.... They all have extremely long phone trees.... And I completely space out literally every time I make a call and often have to dial the same number repeatedly.....

Then when someone does answer the phone.. I am always like F*** who did I call? Why am I calling?

Then I just say something stupid like... Damn girl I have Madonna's "Like a Prayer" stuck in my head... Generally gets a good laugh and then we have normal a conversation.

How common is that we are also the collections department?

I am just curious, I have a client sign a contract I have to send them the invoice and then about half the time I have to follow up for 2 to 3 months just to get them to pay.... And then my company sits on there check for 30 days before paying me commission......

Just another reason why I hate my job.... It is just a really demotivating cycle...

Can anyone tell me about Goosehead insurance?

I have a call with recruiter this week.... If I was not under the gun for needing a new job I doubt that I would even entertain it....

It is an "AE" role.... OTE is only $100k.... AI says it is a churn and burn business model.

It was always my belief that a successful P&C insurances salesperson could make $250-$300k a year this seems like a far cry from that and there sole purpose is to whip people until they fail or completely burn out.

I am 40 fucking years old does this shit ever get better 🤷😅

I can fully feel my masking gas run out 😅

So me and my daughter are both AuADHD, and we had her birthday party this weekend. She lives being social and having friends over, but it was kind of funny because both of our masking gas tanks ran out at basically the exact same time 🤣

We were not rude to tell everyone to leave or anything but I could tell by her face and body language that it was time for break.

Any ways it was a good party, everybody had a lot of fun and after a few hours of recovery we were up and interacting with the family that came over for the 2nd half of the day.

No body I work with has any solutions!

I think I am Rusted Out! I sell retained physician recruitment and my entire team is really struggling. The only people who are doing half way decent have been doing this for 20 years.

The only thing my boss tells me is to "just keep digging", "keep your activity up! You will get there!"

For a while I really thought I was the problem and maybe I am but essentially what we sell is "Trust me BRO!!! My recruiter is going to work so hard for you"

I think that the problem is that anybody who has worked with a retained staffing agency has been burned and spent anywhere between $10k and $50k to get no results.

And I can't even blame my prospects, I would not hand anybody $15k for the hopes and prayers that they might find me a doctor!.

But anyways if anyone has any solutions please let me know. Because it is hard to continue "generating activity" that has like .05% success rate.

(I am actively applying to jobs where I can sell an actual product with features and benefits)

Ever hear of Third Bridge?

I got approached by a recruiter about a job with Third Bridge. Sent me the job description...

To be honest it sounds terrible "Full Cycle Sales" "Uncapped Commission" (at least they disclosed the base)

I am currently selling retained physician recruitment services... And I am very burnt/rusted out. I have AuADHD probably have no reason being in sales to begin with, but these are the cards I have been delt...

I miss selling Mercedes where there was actually an exciting tangible EXCITING product to sell. And it is also nice to be selling something people actually want or find useful!

Shelf said $55 it was $39.99 a t check Target

I rarely buy anything for myself, I thought it was a deal at $55 but then getting to the check and seeing it even less ($39.99) I might go back and get another!

Hey guys Just because the office is officially closed doesn't mean you can't choose to work on the 3rd

My team is like 30% of goal this past quarter, been getting a lot of this 🤣.

When I was eight I used to put a flashlight at the end of my bed and try to use the force to get it to move. No amount of "wanting something enough" is going to change the fact that 1. There is currently no demand for our services and 2. That almost every decision maker is out office until next Wednesday.

Thoughts on sending sample contracts/agreements to prospects

I used to be really against sending sample contracts / agreements. ( Work in retained physician recruitment) Mostly because I was trained to just get ppl to commit to a 30 minute meeting to.try and make them feel worse about their Physician job that has been open for 2 years, that 2 other retained firms have already failed to fill.

Now if they ask for a sample agreement I just send it. I can see how in other B2B sales you might actually need to understand about specific line item services they need. But retained recruitment is basically always the same.

After 5 years of doing this I have just come to the understanding it might be better to be completely transparent🤷.

Interested in hearing other points of view.
