I am curious about the stories of non-muslim marrying a muslim despite their parents not approving of their relationship. I want to know how it happened, did it work out well and was it worth it?

I am asking as I am going through a similar situation and I don't know what to do. I would appreciate hearing stories of this exact situation so I can figure out my own..
