Who truly knows what they know?

What can we say to be true?

Confident in the way things should go

We let define all we say and do

Yet the source of our choice unaware

Divided authority benign itself

Conscious mentality struggle for air

Intellect cling to derelict health

Flooded ether tsunami our ruin

Bureaucracies divide then multiply

Lost all that complete clay to human

Cooperation and trust no longer apply

Unsteady standing on tidal sand

Decreeing our passions so bold

Unknowing reality unable to understand

That minds have become so controlled

That bandwidths so thin to breaking point

Unable to critically see

The digital circus our brain disjoint

Make slaves of our mentality

Outrage and discord our contemplation

Parrotting over creativity

Engagement with hatred gives compensation

Eroding our humanity

How much longer are doomed to sleepwalk?

Taking imaginary sides?

Barrening ourselves of deep thought

Drowning in digital tide

Less hopeful I grow by the day

Of rising together through mire

For much, ‘specially courage I pray

To keep fighting despite being tired

For I truly know this one fact

And confident say verily

Tis time to collectively act

With new unseen solidarity

Take back the control of our minds

Restoring all critical thought

Purge digital delirium and find

Humanity functioning as it ought

Sing it loud, yet hear no song

For now such noise does not belong

No joy in work must now be known

When value based on what we own

To live, to love, to build estate

Always aware of mortal fate

That naked birth and naked death

Are all assured through lifetime's breath

And in the end this hoard of treasure

Is someone else's pain or pleasure

As notions die with source of flesh

Calamity growing

Unaware the degree

The seas they are rising

The rivers they dry

As data enticing

Abundant supply

So weak in addiction

To zeroes and ones

Embrace we the fiction

From all sources it come

So craving a morsel

A nugget of truth

Considered abnormal

To reject this abuse

Taking opposition

To data's chokehold

Refusing submission

To do what we're told

Embrace inconvenience

In patience and trust

Develop our genius

In mind so robust

Built not for addiction

Convenience or speed

But solving afflictions

For sharing our needs

Defining our moments

In service and love

To team and opponents

Within, below, and above

While seeking and knowing

Who make up our lives

Humanity growing

With compassion's rise

Pulse is quickened

Pupils dilate

Adrenal decisions

Now tell my fate

Body prepped for fight or flight

Shallow breath and muscles tight

Reaction natural to this threat

Forehead glistens with fear sweat

No time to think, must react

Against this promise of attack

I spring to act, it's time to fight

To turn offense from wrong to right

And win I will, as happens most

Cloudy the ether

Laden with fog

Confused non believers

By data are bogged

Enslaved We the People

In power we trust

As blurried all evil

Hazy right and just

The rules of the governed

No longer apply

If wealth has them covered

No need to comply

The poison the feed

Through info and air

To service their greed

Turn hope to despair

With leader's loud shouting

And dropping of bombs

Their villianry touting

Division it spawns

Turn neighbor to enemy

And brother to foe

Must kill all serenity

So power can grow

Truth be a mystery

Alive in this time

Will this be our history?

The present defined

Stand up to the power

Quiet the lies

Let this be the hour

Of humanity's rise

Awaken our reason

Uncloud we our minds

Their power will weaken

Once justice defined

The fog it is lifting

Enslaved we no more

To division resisting

The ether ignored

What value in me can be found?

In the scars that I leave on the ground?

To-do lists fulfilled

As I toil to rebuild

Tedium that each day surrounds

Is meaning in blandness so rare?

Can daily mundane become prayer?

Can action in love

Be so offered above

Such to free captives from despair?

How much work is the cost to endure

A lifestyle of such fragile secure?

Takes one tiny mistake

Family easy to break

And their dooming happens premature

Is it worthy to battle my fears?

Dread I fight always reappears

For weak willed am I

To darkness comply

Bad habits always persevere

My moments are passing it's true

Less days remain for me to review

Taking life as it comes

For one day I'll succumb

Eternity as I hope to pursue

Existence, not dollars and cents

Value in love so intense

Work hours so few

To pay only what's due

Keep my loved ones in so few laments

Let my joy be in their delight

Continue my demons to fight

That the value in me

Measured by the degree

Of the goodness that they will incite.

For all there is to know

The sum of all I see

The beauty life bestow

In time eternally

Imagination not contain

Human ears not comprehend

Words will fail to explain

What humanity willed to transcend

How Earth, the center or the edge,

Of such Creation so vast

Array of life to have been pledged

In human mind yet unsurpassed

So married to its time and place

To be the dirt on which it walks

Yet if life fully be embraced

Chemistry must be stepped across

To seek what never can be found

To know impossible to say

A truth so destined to confound

Spiral Creation splendid in array

What Maker forged eternity

And spun its helicalic ways

To allow the rise of humanity

So sit we in this place today?

And know what we choose to know

And see what we choose to see

Embrace the beauty life bestows

And live our lives eternally?

This blood

Stains the rocks

On the ground of the Garden

Stains His cloak

As His friend kissed His cheek

Stains the pillar

As the violent revolutionary is freed

This blood

Down His face from thorny crown

Stains the road

As He falls under the weight of my burdens

Blood stains

The hammer as the nails hold

His hands and feet

Blood and water pour

Once His spirit is handed over

This broken body

This scattered blood

Stains the history of those for whom it was spilled

Stains the hands of those who share it

This blood

Washes the stains we create

And sustains the lives of those who betray Him

There is no greater love than

This blood

You are bothered, I can tell

Quiet outside, inside you yell

The stress of life now overwhelms

It's written clear upon your face

The burdens of this time and space

Have stole your joy, filled up with hate

Wake up daily and see the news

The chaos of freedom subdued

And hope the end is coming soon

Our sense of threat is set to high

And digitally magnified

The certainty that we're born to die

Hope is a waste of precious time

Work most important, make a dime

Purpose is fortune, wasted minds

No harm in hating those you love

If they disturb you, to ground them shove

Stomp them lower, propel self above

So I can see that you're perturbed

Please know that this me too disturbs

My comfort found in writing verse

Which means nothing, it is true

Solving nothing between me and you

Seen worse than this and made it through

No season lasts forever

Stay we will together

And see this one end as well

Until no longer bothered

The flame of trauma like steel on flint 

Burns too bright to behold 

The terror numbing, has each convinced 

By fear to be controlled 

Through light and heat the danger of fire

Nat'ral to be afraid 

Prudent to avoid, safe life desired

Should reason be obeyed 

Yet what if fires, from corners of Earth

Impossible to avoid?

Falling from skies as the planet turns 

Careless to the lives they destroy 

One truth that exist in so frail a flesh 

So scarred by the heat of a flame

The science of living so great to possess 

A means to that tissue reclaim 

To order from wounds deeper than can be known

A strong and unbreakable scar

The fire that caused it,while never condone

Forge us into who we are

Who can explain this comfort?

From where does it emerge?

A child born in a cave

Of a Woman full of Grace

Or a man in a tomb

Punished for the crimes of all?

A birth heralded by angels

Far off kings traveled to pay homage

Yet abandoned at death

His closest friend denying his acquaintance

Crowds once followed His steps

Now they spit and mock Him

Kings since wearing gold crowns

Colorful vestments of royalty

He was stripped of His clothes

And donned a crown of thorns

The Lamb of God, adorned in His own blood

The promised of ages,

Commending His spirit to His Father

Hear the Angels sing

Come and Adore Him

Once known has been made new

Herald a time of Peace

Delivered by One who brings a sword

Of blessing to the poor, the meek

Those hungry and thirsty for justice

Love of enemies, care for the alien

Strength for the weak, rest for the weary

Endurance for the beaten

Life for the dead

Joy for the sorrowful

Beauty through agony

A throne unlike any before seen

The king shall come, and take His throne

Shepherds watch, earthly kings shall bow

The tomb will empty, the soul will know its worth

And unending comfort we shall know
