It’s honestly a pretty fair challenge and on par, if not easier, than most of the games from that era. I think the main issue is most people stay put and try to take out the infinitely respawning enemies when it’s better to just keep moving, find hostages, learn the level layout and where health and power ups are located. You also want to pretty much be firing your weapon constantly aside from when you want to lock yourself in a different direction. I’ve always avoided this game because I heard mixed things, though I tried it once and died very quickly. To those of you who’ve never spent any significant time on this game, try on easy. You get 8 hits and the Predator can take 4 hostages before getting a game over, something that really doesn’t become that much of an issue the more you learn the levels. I really enjoyed this one and it’s a breezy 7 levels.

Hey I’m starting this new community to give fans of Drunken Peasants and Deep Fat Fried a place where we can speculate and discuss what really happened in the split. Beyond that, it is also a censorship free place to discuss anything related to the two shows. I’ve been a long time fan of both shows, I was there for the split and I have seen both channels slowly go downhill. Feel free to post or comment anything that has been on your mind regarding this topic.

From what I’ve seen there are almost no 3rd person games with “tank controls” on N64. Of course you got RE2 and Battletanx where you literally control a tank but other than that I can’t thank of too many examples. In contrast, the PS1 is almost infamous for its use of tank controls in several games and series like Tomb Raider. This was partly because the PS1 only had a d-pad at launch but even after the DualShock came out, the control scheme didn’t die immediately. Mario 64 did revolutionized how 3D games were even approached but I’m surprised there aren’t more N64 games that are plagued with this control scheme. Do I have some blind spots or was Nintendo really just that ahead of the curve?

I recently got a SNES on a whim and I have been having some issues. I have only had it for a couple days and when I first started testing it, most of my games weren’t loading up on the console. I figured it was dirty so I was cleaning everything I could get to without opening it up, I got a bit coming in the mail that’ll let me look under the hood and give it a proper cleaning. Since partially cleaning the console and some of the games, I can get about an hour of gameplay from pretty much all my games but they’ve all frozen or glitched up at some point during extended gameplay. While the games are running, there doesn’t appear to be any issues with it until it freezes or occasionally glitches at some point. It came with the old power supply which I plan on changing and in the time I have used it, I have noticed where the A/C adapter plugs in to gets a little hot. It is an early model of SNES which I have heard are more prone to chip failures and malfunctions. I know I should wait to open it up, clean it and replace the power supply then go from there but I was just wondering if anyone here has any sort of preliminary diagnostics based on the info I’ve given. Basically how SOL am I?
