Almost 200K 🎉

I'm looking forward to getting a 200K miles sticker 😁

2010 Sizzling Crimson Mica. OEM suspension, bushing and manual transmission/clutch. Besides consumables, replaced only one rear caliper. B12 piston soak last year. Drives like new. 👏😍

How 5 yo 59K miles Reliants look like

Just wanted to share my experience with Goodyear Reliants. They were great. Probably the best budget tire out there. I was planning to go over 62K, but they are in discount now, gonna replace.

Not an endorsement though. Do your research 😃

First cabinet paint project. Is it reasonable?

Hello!

I'm looking for an opinion if this my first cabinet painting project is reasonable for a diyer. Never painted a cabinet before. I started simple with a drawer front.

Materials used:

  • Purdy 4.5in x 1/4in Nap whitedove smooth woven roller (for the flat area)
  • Purdy clearcut 1in angle wall trim brush (for the edge)
  • HGTV Home (SW) Cabinet, Door & Trim Primer - not thinned
  • HGTV Home (SW) Cabinet & Furniture Acrylic Urethane Enamel paint - not thinned
  • 3M Pro grade 220 and 320 grit sanding block
  • Tack cloth

Process:

  • Sanded the drawer front the best I could with palm rotary sander with 150 and 240 Grits. Cleaned with tack cloth.
  • Three coats of primer as light as I could. 1 hour drying time. sanded with 3M sanding blocks both 220 and 320 in between. Cleaned with tack cloth
  • Two coats of paint as light as I could. 4 hours drying time. sanding with both sanding blocks, cleaned with tack cloth.

There is still an orange peel aspect. Is that too bad? What can I do to get it smoother?

Thanks for any advice!

What straight edge you would recommend to rip 8' plywood? BORA 96-in NGX or Kreg XL 8-foot ?

Hello!

I'm building a few DIY cabinets and bookshelves for room and I want to rip as accurate as possible a 8' plywood with a circular saw. I have a Skil 5280-01 which I love.

I know I can build an DIY guide from plywood using the factory edge as guide. However, due to storage issues, I want to buy a straight edge I can disassembly for storage.

Which one you would recommend based on experience for accuracy and clamping power?

https://boratool.com/product/bora-ngx-96in-quick-connect-clamp-edge-guide/

or

https://www.kregtool.com/shop/cutting/circular-saw-cutting/straight-edge-guide-xl/KMA4700.html

BORA has a plate for the circular saw, however I want to compare them using the edge alone.

Thanks for any advice!!
