I miss FM's Maple Valley & VIR

Ever since that ill fated announcement that they are sidelining the game, I stopped playing. I know, I can come back anytime and play again, but I am a very career-based person, and this announcement made me feel like a game with no future is not worth playing. I left, I played, Raceroom, ACC, LMU, AC. Although AC has mod version of these two tracks, there's this feeling that FM gave me, playing multiplayer GT3/TC/GT2 races. I still remember that I did a 1:23 at Maple Valley with the Audi Time Trial car(which was later removed from Forza GT lineup). The thing is having mods is one, but convincing people to play maple valley and VIR with you is another. But then again, boy I do miss Forza's Maple Valley & VIR. And the races, and the good people. Fuck you Microsoft for ruining Forza, which was well on its way to peak. Fuck you from the deep of my heart. You have ruined something so beautiful.

We are now the 4th fastest team.

I hate to say this, but we need to accept this and move on. No matter how fast we are in FP1,2,3 at Q2-3 we are clearly 4-5 tenths off Merc and around 2-3 tenths off Ferrari. Red bull caught up and is now clearly the 2nd or 3rd fastest team. We need a miracle upgrade package to caught the front runners, at this point I'm not thinking about defending WCC, but clearly McLaren have some work to do. And they really need to sort out Landos car problems, each week he faces new issues, the guy can't catch a break. Oscar with a new battery upgrade showed promising results I must say. He was able to beat both Ferrari's, and they had their own Tyre deg problem as Austria is hot as fuck today, on a normal day , I don't see our boys beating the Ferrari's. Do we know any McLaren upgrades in future races on their pipeline?

Ruby changed too much.

Surprised no one's talking about Ruby changes. I got 2k matches with her with a 55%WR. Ruby was never meant to be a 1v1 hero. Neither she's a heavy damage dealer. She was always a semi tank with sustainability and survivability with her spell vamp and an initiator + disruptor. Now she's just a discount Dyrroth. If I wanted a damage dealing hero I'd pick Dyrroth or Arlott. Now with her change, I have to completely change my play style but since I played more than 2k matches with her it's very hard for me to adjust. This needs to go back.

When you skip celebration, do you expect your opponent to do the same?

I was just curious what people think. For the past few days, I've been playing seasons only(No FUT). And I have seen that every time I skip a celebration and then I concede a goal, the opponent will also skip their celebration. Now, I don't celebrate mostly because it's time consuming and not because it annoys my opponent, neither do I .

I don't know if it's the case in Ultimate Team because I don't play Ultimate Team. And the last Fifa title I played was Fifa 23.

Is Raceroom played by mostly players who have a Potato PC?

I have asked about why there isn't any rain or wet races in this game in the official discord, and the primary response i found is that to implement such features the game has to be DX12, and to be DX12, many players wont be able to play raceroom as the core game has such lower requirement pc is because the game is DX11. Now, this is 2026 and what is the percentage of players who are playing raceroom on a prehistoric pc? Mind you that, 11 years ago, Nvidia released GTX 9xx/960/970 series which supports DX12. Are people who are playing Raceroom using Nvidia 7xx series? Like 750ti? And why are we, people who own latest technology have to sacrifice for it?

Anyone is waiting for Gear Club 3?

The first Gear Club and the second one was made for mobile and the second one was for Nintendo i think, then ported to PC. The third installment is completely differrent, and its made by Eden Games, as we know they made TDU2. If Gear Club 3 is very similar to the authentic Test Drive Unlimited that we all know and love then its going to be a blast. I cannot wait for this game to release.

Have you invested too much time in FM that you don't feel like switching to FH6?

I'm going through this weird phase in my life, I was a fan of Forza Horizon 3 & 4, then Motorsport came and honestly, ngl, I loved ForzaM for the time being. Then the announcement of the game being halted(indefinitely) and laid off employees.

After the announcement, Forza was not the same for me. I stopped playing Forza and tried other titles, LMU, ACC, PMR, RRRE, AMS2 and none had the multiplayer feeling I had in Forza. Physics wise, RRRE is very close to Forza and right now I am quite enjoying RRRE as a controller only player. AMS2 was also brilliant but it's too much focused on Singleplayer and PMR is just shit. LMU is okay but I struggle a lot especially in race pace as I struggle to keep tire life with a controller, I qualify 5th-7th and end up 10th-14th due to tire consumption when playing with a controller. And the most important part is that in LMU base game you just have 2-3 cars which are unlocked and 3 tracks available for you and the multiplayer is just the same two tracks rotating and that's about it, there's nothing to do in that game which makes it quite monotonous. PMR is just straight up a horrible game. And honestly, I don't have the time & $$ to invest in a sim rig as I'm on my way to be father soon.

Now coming back to Horizon 6, I bought the game, but I just don't get the feeling of playing it with the same enthusiasm that I had back in the day. I invested too much time in motorsport focused games (real life tracks) that open world racing is not attracting me anymore. And if I invest too much time in Horizon 6, I will most definitely lose my feeling I have for the sim/simcade style games.
