Her relationship is kind of boring because it’s so unproblematic and her and Tommy really seem to like each other. I’ve respected every action/response she’s made in the Villa; for example, the way she handled Aiden, the way she wasn’t pining for Lorenzo, and called out Lola when she was unreasonable. I think she’s the only one who is in a stable couple that will work on the outside and should win.
I’m 37 and 1.5 years post op and when I had a couple of drinks I told my flatmates I had a gastric sleeve surgery. I immediately regretted telling them because one of them is one of those people who goes on hikes regularly, is super healthy, always talks about wanting to tone up her body even though she has a perfect body and has been skinny from birth. She’s always telling me to go on hikes which annoys me. I walk 10k steps a day which I feel is huge in comparison to my former sedentary lifestyle.
That flatmate was asking me about the surgery today and how much it cost. Then I felt like I had to justify it so I repeated what my psychotherapist and surgeon told me which is it’s nearly impossible to lose weight when you’re morbidly obese because your body fights you to be a bigger size when you gain fat cells. And she was like “it’s not impossible, it’s not impossible. Many people do. My uncle lost it all naturally.” I was upset so I just left the room while she was talking mid sentence. She has no idea about the pain and suffering I went through to lose weight before I got the sleeve. The sleeve was a drastic last hope decision for me. I feel that was really insensitive of her to say to me. Even if that’s her opinion, why not just keep it to herself. She’s 38 and trying to be a comedian, not once have I diminished her life choices with that or told her to be realistic.
Do I have a right to be upset about this or should I just learn to grow a backbone because this is the reaction many people will have to getting gastric sleeve?
I’ve only told like 6 people in my life that I’ve had it and her reaction is exactly why I’ve been quiet about it.
My current flatmate and I are moving into a new flat together. In our current place, she has the master bedroom with the ensuite and balcony because she moved in before I did. I know she was paying pretty cheap rent for that room because our current flat is really affordable, but I don't actually know exactly how much she was paying.
Now that we've found a new flat, she's kind of assumed she'll have the ensuite room again. She’s said before maybe she should have it cos she has more stuff. She's also said we'd split the rent equally because my room has a balcony (room 2) and hers doesn't.
I've never really said anything because I wasn't sure if it was worth bringing up and I’m a bit of a people pleaser but it's been on my mind. The ensuite room is also the master bedroom and a bit bigger, so I'm wondering if it makes sense for that room to cost a little more, even though my room has the balcony.
At the moment we'd both be paying $975 a month, and the third girl would pay around $860 because she has the smallest room and she's a student.
I'm just wondering what's generally considered fair in this situation. Should the person with the ensuite and bigger room pay a bit more, or does having a balcony make the rooms pretty even? And if it is fair for the ensuite room to cost a little more, what's the best way to bring it up without making it a big deal?
I’m going solo, 31F, golden circle, and looking to find friends to meet there/go with
I think Kavan latched onto the Tommy spitting into Jasmine’s mouth thing and the whole Lorenzo thing because he doesn’t want to be with her anymore. After she told him “I’m speaking” repeatedly, he felt belittled and disrespected by her. That’s why he asked Yasmin for her opinion and said “I should say that to Jasmine” and Yasmin said no.
I’ve had this happen to me in many relationships so I can see it happening here. When a man doesn’t want me anymore, I feel like he’s looking for reasons to get upset at me or his reactions to situations are stronger than what’s reasonable in the situation.
