Rebel Yell

Another recent post here mentioned the Rebel Yell, so I just wanted to put this out there. Do you think we will ever be able to find out what the Yell actually sounded like?
I’ve seen it done in several movies, but they always sound completely different. Shelby Foote gave a great description of it (because he was the greatest) but, sadly that’s not the same as hearing. I’m sure there must have been many reenactment groups that have their versions, but, is there enough agreement on what the true sound was?

Daisy Queen - Marshall, AR

I’ve been going to this little drive-in diner for over 50 years and it’s still as great as ever. Marshall, Arkansas has a new, wider highway going through it, a nice grocery called Harps, and lots of places to buy fishing bait. I try to make it a point to look for the little places like this when traveling to support local businesses.
But it’s also where the best burgers are often found.

Newspapers.com Search Help

I’m needing to search for a relative in old newspaper articles that only used initials for their first name. But I can’t figure out how to do so in Newspapers.com. For example, how would you set up a search for D. H. Lawrence? Any help or advice that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Groups around KC

I’m looking for some contact information on reenacting groups in the Kansas City/Western Missouri area. If anyone has any information about them you can pass on I’d greatly appreciate the help!

Motel Fever or Allergy?

MOREL Fever - Has anyone gotten sick from Morels and what was your experience. These were the ones I gathered. Cleaner then in salt water. Breaded and seasoned, I pan fried them to a well done, crispy state and enjoyed them so much all by themselves for dinner. But later that night I got a fever of 101 and later 103. I was dizzy and disoriented for three days before I decided to go to the ER. That was almost a month ago. There were several complications, I’ve been on IV antibiotics for an unknown bacterial infection and also developed a serious cardiac issue. The Drs seem to discount any connection to my heath issues being connected to the morels I ate and insist that there must have been something else happen. Has anything like that happened to anyone else here? Hopefully things turned out all right for you if they did.

Salad, Open-faced roast beef sandwich, gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans, cottage cheese and a soft roll. The beef was a little tough so I took off for that, but a fine meal otherwise. Now I’m ready for a nap!
