After a great experience last year, I went back to Summerhaven for the 4th of July parade. We arrived early to get a parking spot along the parade route. We spent the morning walking down to the Marshall Gulch trailhead. The new parking lot along the way is HUGE!

Take some time to get out of the heat this summer and head up to Summerhaven. There is so much to explore up there and all along the drive up and down the mountain. And remember to listen to the Mt Lemmon Science Tour on their free app. There is a sign near the base of the mountain where you hit play and it guides you along the drive.

Driving down my street and seeing a rainbow at the end was mesmerizing! The second shot is Cat Mountain.

On this day in 2020, the Bighorn Fire surrounded the town of Summerhaven. The first picture was taken by a friend in Oro Valley. I took the second picture from the Snyder/Kolb area.

We heard the gunshots early this morning.

It was a good one!

Lightning, thunder, rain, and a rainbow! Can’t ask for much more.

…and they have the Death Star on the price tag. 😫

Got out of the house and explored a little bit. Stretched our legs along the Winkleman Bridge with views of the Gila River. The Besh-Ba-Gowah Museum was really interesting! After lunch at Salinas’s Smoke Street (BBQ) we stopped at the Soda Fountain for some ice cream. We’re already planning a second trip because there is so much to see.

The blooms started opening this week, and there are a lot of blooms waiting to open, too.

Oats, peanut butter, milk chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, and M&Ms - these cookies have everything!
