We should NOT talk about Jayden and Preston

I get it's hypocritical to talk about privacy on a celebrity subreddit, but honestly the whole Jayden and Preston discourse is becoming alarming. They aren't Britney, they're two young men living their life. We don't know if they want to be associated with her or not, and they deserve to be remembered for something they did, not just for being Britney's kids. And dear lord, the paparazzis should leave them alone

Kim benefited more from Cheryl *not* believing the allegations

Yesterday I couldn't sleep and I started thibking of various shit so here we are reading my 4 am theories

The common interpretation of Kim lying to Cheryl is that she was trying to make her feel guilty. However, Cheryl wasn't a threath because she was considered paranoid and crazy by everybody, meaning nobody believed her anyway. So from Kim's pov I think it made more sense to reinforce the idea Cheryl was unreliable and isolate her from everybody else rather than convince her Howard was an addict and make her seem reasonable and potentially dangerous if in the future she somehow found proofs about Howard's real fate

That means that when Kim said "you would have known" she was actually operating on 2 fronts: the Cliff front, aka giving him and the other potential listeners in the room the impression Kim was so ignorant about Howard she didn't even know about him divorcing, which made the possibility she was stalking him constantly very unlikely; and then the Cheryl front, aka feeding her suspicions about Howard going through something else by telling her she would have known if he was an addict and making her seem even crazier and more delusional

In other words, she was using Cheryl's correct intuitions strategically to isolate her completely from others and ruining forever her credibility

Or maybe I'm just tripping. Probably

Thanks for reading the shit my insomnia gives birth to

Love ya

If it really was tough love, Jesse’s parents would have called the police

Prison is horrible and doesn't help addicts. Sure, there are some programs nowadays to help people inside, but most of the time it's just punishment without rehabilitation, plus being in constant danger (both because of your cellmates and your guards). However, it has 2 positive aspects:

  1. It gives you a shelter

  2. Your family can check on you

Homelessness has all the cons of prison and none of the pros. Just like in prison, you fight for survival everyday, your addiction worsens, there's an extremely high chance of dying in the most horrific way and you definitely don't quit criminal activities. But unlike in prison, you're fucking alone and forgotten even by your family and don't even have a fucking roof above you. Both are a death sentence (literally), but if they're the only choices you can think of, as a parent you should choose the one that at least lets you check on your son from time to time.

Honestly, I have the feeling it was never about wanting Jesse to change but to get rid of the "stain". His parents wanted to appear perfect and having a missing son was more socially acceptable than a son in prison. And that's what they always did, they constantly tried to just relocate the problem instead of trying to solve it, even unsuccessfully.

Don't get me wrong, Jesse was an asshole. But he was like that since his teen years, and if you decide to have kids you take the responsibility to raise them and correct their behavior instead of make them live with their aunt and give birth to another kid hoping he's better than the first one.

Please, if you consider kids an accessory and a way to look better in front of others, don't become a parent. Seriously.

Just realized

"I was having too much FUN!" was always a very ambiguous line, because it may be referring either to the marriage (Kim was talking about the fact she knew she and Jimmy would have broken up) or the scam (since they would have stopped tormenting Howard)

However, if Kim was talking about the scam, she was implying she wouldn’t have kept ruining Howard's reputation without Jimmy. In the end she could have kept scamming alone, and then maybe date Jimmy again once Lalo's death was confirmed. Instead, scamming without Jimmy wasn't even an option.

This is particularly interestingly considering that Jimmy was the exact opposite, he enjoyed scamming and kept doing it with or without Kim, alone or with others. Instead, to her scamming was necessarily something related to Jimmy.

The relationship between Howard and Kim always made me uncomfortable

They were never equals, and not just on a professional level. Howard always treated Kim as if she was his property and even seemed jealous when she chose Jimmy or other people over him. He wasn't just worried about his business, he really took it personally as if she was *cheating* on him or something, and even tried to sabotage her career just because he was pissed. Him ripping off the money she owed the fucking FIRM (not even him) just to make her feel guilty was particularly unhinged. *But Kim did worse!* Sure, except that both her and Jimmy were desperately trying to cope with all the shit they've been through, while Howard was like that since the very beginning.
