I’m inclined to think they were probably egalitarian and shared resources between families, but is that the same as capital C Communism as we modern people understand it? I don’t mean it as a loaded question, I’m asking if this is an established fact in anthropology and how would we know the politics of PREhistoric communities? I heard this claim often in college and I want to know if there’s any evidence for or against it.

The Southern Reach Trilogy* by Jeff Vandermeer is my favorite sci-fi series, but a close second is the Wool series by Hugh Howey. I’m looking for crazy concepts that stay mostly grounded in the execution and character work.

I’m a side sleeper and switch from right to left throughout the night. But every morning my left eye is red and bloodshot. It doesn’t hurt or show any other inflammation. By midday they both look fairly clear. I’m not asking for medical advice, but can anyone tell me why that might happen only in one eye?

It started with trap artists like Tropkillaz, Recayd Mob, and old school psychedelic Os Mutantes… and expanded to bossa nova which is a rich and enchanting genre. But here’s where it gets weird: I’ve overheard a dozen people speaking Portuguese at work, my aunt is Portuguese, and when my family watched a movie tonight it ended with a song in Portuguese. At the moment I’m convinced that I NEED to 1. Learn Portuguese and 2. Move to Brazil. Idk what I’ll encounter there but I look forward to it.
