How do I improve?
I am a beginner and would really appreciate it if I could get some tips and suggestions.
Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011)
First coming to the negative aspects of the film:
Ricky Bahl:
He has a sad backstory which we never get to see, which is fine ig because the movie is a rom com.
But I still think its too problematic.
He has conned 30 women, never feels any guilt or remorse, emotionally manipulates women, causes serious trouble to their livelihoods and STILL gets a happy ending without having to face ANY consequences for his actions??
I also didnt like how Ishika defends him in front of the other 3 girls saying he loves her and all that. Maybe he does, but he has literally caused irreversible damage in all the other girls lives, dimple falls in love with him! Saira's career is endangered! And all the other girls also lost lakhs of money cuz of him.
Positive aspects:
Overall the movie has good pacing, humour and great music
I loved Anushka's styling.
I would have never guessed this was parineeti's debut film, i loved her character and her screen presence.
Ranveer looked so charming and I think he also nailed this mysterious and intriguing aura that his character is supposed to have.
I enjoyed the film but the ending really let me down. Still a good watch.
Why amaran doesn't feel the same as other army movies to me
Okay this might be a bit long so bear with me.
I know its been a while since the movie released and all that but I've always felt that something was missing in the movie. I mean, after the film was over, it still felt like some story was left, or something was left incomplete.
That's when I realized the problem, the ENTIRE story takes place in indhu's pov. She narrates the whole story.
My problem isn't that the movie has given importance to the female lead, I mean, im literally a girl, it is always nice to see both male and female character being given the same importance. Its just that amaran isn't the movie that should do that.
The movie is a biopic of an army man ,Major Mukund. But everything we learn about him happens through the eyes of indhu. We never get to see what he himself was like in his childhood, what he really feels and his view of the army and how he finds them inspiring.
We only get to hear anything about him when indhu does. Now again, my problem isn't female lead being given importance, its just that the movie sometimes doesn't feel like it is centered around Major Mukund. Like, if you look at other army movies for example Major(adivi shesh) or shershah (ik its bwood but this just to explain my opinion), we see how he grows up, his family environment, how he finds the army inspiring, then comes the love interest, later marriage and how he balanced his missions and family life.
But this movie hardly gives us any glimpse into Major Mukund's early life and family life. And i dont want to sound rude or anything, but isnt love life a part of life, for ANYone, just like family and job, so why does the entire story revolve around how indhu met him, how she feels about him, their issues and problems, marriage.
For example, the scene where Major Mukund breaks up with indhu on the cell phone, we only see what indhu heard and felt. But why? Isn't this Major Mukund's biopic?? Should we get to see what HE was feeling and thinking when he was breaking up with his love?
The thing is, recently I came across some post about amaran and sai pallavi on reddit and I got to know that her role wasn't that big initially and that she'd refuse the movie if her role wasn't extended. She discussed with the writer, director about her role. Her pr was bragging about how she has Equal screen time and importance as siva kartikeyan's role. I was sooo confused because why should a movie which is a biopic of ONE person give equal importance to TWO people????
Extending the female role of normal commercial or any other movie would be good to set an example about how woman can also carry the film. I mean, sai pallavi did well in the climax but it just throws me off about why should the love interest have same importance as the protagonist.
Anyway that was all I had to say because ive been thinking about this for quite a while. Sorry for the long rant.
I am 19 and just few years ago I was very connected to hanuman ji and used to listen to hamuman chalisa and also his kathas. But for some reason I cant remember I didnt practice any spirituality for some time.
Then started doing harekrishna mahamatra jap and got to know premanad Maharaj ji and started doing radha naam jap last December. But past couple of days I am again feeling a pull towards hanuman ji and feel like doing hanuman chalisa because I am an anxious person especially socially.
So yeah can I practice both?
