Had an insane June compared to only 3 in May

I think this is my biggest month in my 3 years of Letterboxd. Had weapons that I started on the 30th, but for me if it goes past 12:00 I log it for the calendar day I finished it on, so it got logged for the 1st.

[Kena: Bridge of Spirits] Review

Been a minute since I actually played this, but this game is the closest I’ll likely ever get to playing and beating a Soulslike game. I tried this once, and then stopped cause I was playing too many games at once, then didn’t play it again for a year or two, which was a mistake on my behalf, because the boss fights, story, and just the atmosphere that Kena: Bridge of Spirits creates within itself is truly just a masterpiece. I played this way before Scars of Kosmora was announced, but I am so stoked for it.

The Rot definitely make this game feel like Pikmin Souls, and that is definitely a merit towards it. I love it when games take two completely different games or genres and splices them together. Plucky Squire combining so many different perspectives or even Lies of P (even though I haven’t played it) making a Pinocchio soulslike. Even when you see a horror movie based on a kids character (despite them always failing), the idea is still bizarre and fun. Kena takes a cartoony artstyle and cute little companions, then pushes you to your wits end with the brutality behind the boss fights and combat styles you learn throughout your time with Bridge of Spirits.

I will say, I did cheese the hard mode trophy, didn’t go through the whole game, just the last bit, and that was hard enough, I’ll accept my participation trophy.

Kena is one of the most deserving games to get a 10/10, and I am so excited for where the sequel takes the story.

Question to those who have played Once Upon A Puppet

I’m looking at Once Upon A Puppet on sale on the PlayStation store, and can’t find any meaningful reviews, so to those who have played the game, how did you like it? Have bugs been fixed since launch?

My extensive list of May watches

It’s been a damn busy past two months. Two in April and four in May, very disappointed in myself, but let’s hope June brings us back.

Honestly, quite a breath of fresh air. Started this cause I had left the other game I started at my dorms with my switch, so booted this up cause I was looking for a story game, with a more level based progression after the massive Hollow Knight and the slog that was Borderlands 4.

Loved how after we got Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated, we got The Cosmic Shake as a legacy sequel that truly feels like the SpongeBob game we deserve. I will likely play Titans of the Tide, but was looking into the different shade of SpongeBob that lies in The Patrick Star Game, but I wanted a PlayStation physical copy, but all I’ve been seeming to find is Switch copies.

Got a lot of games backed up that I haven’t posted about yet in this busy season, and this is but one of them.

The Cosmic Shake is an easy 10/10, and the platinum was pretty fun too. Not a lot of grind finding all the collectibles, and I loved the different boss trophies that had little challenges for the end phases of each world. Least favourite collectible wise would be the Medieval Sulfur Fields, least favourite boss challenge was Pearl’s in the Prehistoric Kelp Forest. Loved the Wild West Jellyfish Fields and the movie set Downtown Bikini Bottom. Overall blast, always love a good SpongeBob game.
