Safest way to buy/sell tickets?
How are you guys buying/selling tickets to ensure no scams etc?
How are you guys buying/selling tickets to ensure no scams etc?
Please message me if you are selling 1-3 tickets for the Aug 18 screening.
Cannot make my screening Aug 7
Hoping to trade (or BUY) 2 (preferably 3) for ANY OTHER Interstellar screening date/time.
Note on the tix I have: Seats are not together, are in ORCH.
I did a goof thing and accidentally double booked myself for two amazing Nolan showings, and I'm not sure what to do.
TIFF is hosting some 70mm Nolan screenings, and I was lucky enough to score tickets before they all sold out.
I'm seeing a screening of Inception (Aug 6) and Interstellar (Aug 7) in 70mm. The seats I got are pretty horrible. Legit front row, and my friends and I aren't sitting together, but Interstellar is my favorite movie, and I kick myself for missing the 10th anniversary screenings in 2024. It has been a dream to see Interstellar 70mm IMAX, I've never seen it in a theater before. Even though this screening isn't IMAX, I am so grateful to see it in 70mm.
Here's the problem, when I bought those TIFF tickets it was such a scramble because 1 minute into the sale, it was 99% sold out. So I bought what was available and didn't think twice. UNFORTUNATELY I have tickets to see the Odessey in 70mm IMAX the SAME DAY/time!!
I am fortunate enough to be close to a 70mm/IMAX theater, but I am TORN on what to do...This is what I am weighing out:
The Odessey is in 70mm IMAX, seats are GREAT. currently, all 70mm IMAX showings (now until end of Aug) are completely sold out. To cancel these tickets means waiting for new Sept. screenings and hoping I can snag good seats. I'll admit, I'm not super interested in going through the ticket bloodbath.
Interstellar is my fav movie and this is a super rare opportunity to see it in a theater and in 70mm. Tickets are non-refundable, but weren't expensive. I'm seeing inception in 70mm the night before, and my friends and I did all get seats together (also very front row lol). Unfortunately, I'm not sure how much I will actually enjoy the screening being very front row. Usually it just looks like moving shapes and it is hard to be "in" the experience, but it is such a rare opportunity I feel like I might regret missing it.
So, long story short, I'm either going through another screening blood bath for a good viewing experience for the Odessey, and opting for a poor viewing experience of a rare screening. OR being out the money for the TIFF tickets and prioritizing great seats for a new Nolan film.
I also just want to make a disclaimer that I am exceptionally grateful to even have these opportunities, and I am absolutely gutted I have to choose between them.
What would you do, I need advice!!!
The last three ish days there have been no samples available on the Sephora app. Anyone else seen this?
I can't understand why so many women settle for mediocre men...I don't mean abusers or manipulators, I mean men who can't even bother to learn their spouses middle name or birthday.
I used to work at a job where I needed to gather household information. Our primary customer base was male, and 99% of the time they could not answer their wives or daughters birthdays or middle names. Really basic information that I guarantee almost any woman would know about their husband or child. Unsurprisingly, they can remember their son or brothers information just fine. It's almost exclusively the women in their lives that they don't bother to remember these basic details for.
I really cannot wrap my head around it, and cannot understand why so many women excuse this behavior or just write it off as some personality quirk (like silly husband, can't remember anything). I see it all the time and it confounds me. I get that there is no accountability for men to learn these things, or even care. It's cultural, and I get some people will wonder why I care about such a small thing but it is so much deeper than just a birthday.
This isn't to hate on men, there are many amazing men out there. I'm just talking about the ones who seem to not care or even like their women in their lives very much. Unfortunately, I see it so often that it is just....sad.
I'm hoping to find someone who's had similar experiences, or any advice!
I'm celibate because I am extremely afraid of pregnancy, and don't feel the available birth control options for women are safe or reliable. I don't think condoms alone are effective enough, even mixed with other "non invasive" contraceptives.
I never want to end up in a situation where I would need to consider abortion. I think it would cause me irreparable harm mentally and emotionally. I do not want children, and do not want to be pregnant, but feel I don't have any options besides just not having sex, which really really sucks.
I used to be on the pill, which caused horrendous side effects. I'll never go on it again. I can't fathom inserting a foreign object into my body that will disrupt my hormones and reproductive system, especially with no proper pain management options. Getting my tubes tied also doesn't feel like a reasonable option at all!
I have no idea how to approach dating because of this. As I've gotten older, I feel like I have so much more at stake. Do people have relationships where they don't have sex? I do not want to be celibate, but the risk of pregnancy or abortion feels too great. It's not as if I can expect a man to understand that, or expect him to get a vasectomy if I do end up in a long term relationship.
How the hell are other people navigating this? I feel so alone!
I've always been a highly connected, spiritual person. I have prophetic dreams, strong intuition, and when I "tap in" I genuinely feel like I can create my own reality. I consider myself lucky in that way.
But I've also dealt with serious mental health stuff and childhood trauma, and it's kept me stuck in a way I can't seem to shake. I'm diagnosed with anxiety and depression, plus a few other letters, don't need to get into details, but it's been a lifelong part of my story. Despite all that, I'm high functioning, gifted, a high achiever. I just carry a lot.
Here's the part I really want advice on. I live with my parents, and I pour a lot of my energy into them. As an adult, I helped them get clean from addiction, the same addiction that wrecked my childhood. I pay for outings and trips so they're not stagnant (none of us have much of a friend group or extended family, so it's really just us). I work hard to make our life together feel full and good, and it's worked. They are the most light filled, positive versions of themselves I've ever seen, a massive shift from five years ago. My mom is magnetic now. People compliment her, gravitate toward her, light up around her. It's not subtle at all.
But as they've gotten better, I've gotten worse. It's like I've been pouring my own light into them until I'm running on empty. I feel like they are draining me. I feel like they will act in specific ways that try to get a rise out of me, get defensive, or create rifts (though I don't believe this is conscious on their end). We'll end up in circular conversations and arguments that don't end and drain me to the point where I legitimately have nothing left in the tank and feel hopeless and alone. I've tried again and again to communicate this with them, and what I need, what isn't working, setting boundaries, but it's like they subconsciously seek that energy source of me getting emotional.
I've got every sign of depleted energy. Bad sleep, getting sick constantly, more cynical, more critical, anxious, depressed. I know I've grown a lot from where I used to be, but this feels different. This feels like I'm being drained, not just struggling.
I want to be the light, magnetic, spiritually aligned person I've helped everyone else become. I just don't know how to protect my own energy while still showing up for them. My situation isn't changing anytime soon, so leaving isn't really on the table right now. I need to figure out how to heal and refill myself within this life, not outside of it.
Would love any advice, techniques, or just personal experience from people who've been in a similar dynamic.
I feel like I'm kinda at rock bottom here.
I’m one of the remote-only employees at my company. My boss keeps scheduling our 1:1s in a meeting room instead of just doing a normal Zoom call from his desk or one of the soundproof pods.
He sits at the table and I’m on a massive wall screen, like I’m presenting to a board of directors instead of… talking to one guy about my work week. It’s just the two of us, and it feels incredibly awkward watching him look up at giant me, then down at his laptop, typing things, then back up again.
The audio is horrible since there is a big echo from the empty room.We already have hybrid meetings where people just join from their desks, so this feels like an unnecessary “conference room production” for a 1:1.
I've brought it up but he thinks this set up is best so he can share his screen easily...
It gives me anxiety knowing people outside the room can probably see (and likely hear) me from outside (glass) conference room while sitting at their desks. Also, since my audio is getting played through the conference room speaker... Just feels inappropriate for a 1:1.
Has anyone else dealt with this?
Can we all agree Crags are the worst thing ever?
I can't even pick them up they just spill everywhere. Terrible product, it doesn't behave at all like they are advertising.
Very frustrating since they are so expensive.
