Fermentation Heater

Hello,

I'm making some home wine from grapes. I'm fermenting in an open top barrel and am looking for solutions to heat/maintain heat on my ferment. Does anyone have any suggestions? I looked into aquarium heaters, but I was reading the rubber and plastic on those aren't tolerant with high acid/alcoholic solutions.

I'm thinking maybe a heating belt to wrap around. The circumfrence is 116.5" at the widest part. Right now I have a space heater that I'm moving around. Trying not to run it too much though as I don't have a tarp to tent.

Possible new find 2005 Custom 1968 reissue

Hello, I figure I would give this a shot here until I can find a professional who can confirm.

I found someone selling what I’m told is a 2005 1968 Les Paul Custom reissue. I’ve never owned a Les Paul, but have always heard how great they were. The price for this guitar is impossible to pass up, but also too good to be true?

If anyone has experience, I’d love to hear your thoughts on if this is a legit guitar and if it’s actually worth something.

Fig Tree Manicure

I have two fig trees that came with the house, I haven’t done much with them since they weren’t growing that much. After some fresh top soil and some food, they exploded!

I’m fighting the animals to try and get ripe ones before they do!

Question: can I cut some of this back right now? It’s August and I’m in Zone 9b basically. I’ve read they take pruning really well, but I wanted to double check with some people with first hand experience.

Also, if anyone has a good online resource (or book) for pruning back fig trees for small spaces and good harvests that would be great!

Multi Guitar Rack Recommendations

I found a few on here, but they’re 2+ years old, I was hoping to get some updates/recommendations.

I’ve been recording a lot of music lately and switching around guitars. Currently they all (but one bass) have cases.

I’m looking for a nice sturdy rack that I can set my guitars on, so as I’m switching back and forth, I can just reach over and swap them, rather than right now, where I’m pulling and putting them back in the cases.

I have what I think are very nice, expensive (to me at least) guitars that would be nice to have a dedicated spot to store them while recording and to display, while having easy access.

Any recommendations/help would be greatly appreciated.

Scroll bar issues

I don't know what happened. I'm working on this song, then sudden I go to use the scroll bar to zoom in on a part and it automatically shifts to the beginning of the song.

In the video you can see; I had to use ctrl+mouse to get it to zoom and see the whole project, then I go to grab the scroll bar on the right side (which I normally do to zoom in) and it just kicks it to the beginning. I can't figure out what I've done.

I'm told to use the ctrl/alt+mouse to do everything, but I've never done it before, and it's a lot for me to get used to. I need this song finished by the weekend and need to use my old ways! haha.

Something else I noticed. My Hardcore plug0in is EXTRA zoomed in, like a magnifying glass on my screen. Also, in the piano roll, all my beats are automatically highlighted red like I selected them - which I never have. I also notices when I open another project, the plug-in window for Hardcore is also EXTRA zoomed.

EDIT 1: I notice when I use the ctrl+mouse to try and zoom in, it also just sends me to the beginning of the song.

If anyone has some helpful tips or insights, that would be great!!

On the hunt for a RG3521

I’ve been searching for a coupe years now. There was one on Ebay a few months ago, but I wasn’t able to get it. I haven’t really seen one since.

If anyone has one or know where I can get one, send me a message!

Thanks!

Finished this today - What next?

No spoilers.

Wow, what a great story. I don’t really have much to say beyond that. Moved right up to my top by SK.

What should I read next? This year, I’ve read the Dead Zone, Firestarter, 11/22/63.

The second image is my list of read/not read.

Piano Roll Drum Multi Tempo - Is It Possible?

I'm making black metal using Kontakt 7 - loading it to the Channel Rack, then using the Piano Roll to make the beat.

I've been setting the BPM to 260 because that's the best speed for drum fills to sound natural and not super slowed down. Is there a way to have my BPM set at, let's say 180, but still be able to have the drum rolls faster?

Anyone make metal or fast music that can offer some insight on how they make drums for their music?

Finished this today.

I really liked it. I’ve never seen the movies or knew much about it, so it was fun going in blind. I know most King endings aren’t great, but I did like how this one ended.

Andy’s story was great. I read this pretty quick wanting to know how things turned out.

I recommend 4/5.

I put spoilers at the bottom, and if I did it right, they should be hidden.

Non-spoiler:

I thought it was really good. I knew the title name, but nothing about the context of the story. As usual, I thought it was well written, well developed characters. I was surprised at how current the theme of the book felt during this political climate. Maybe that’s just me. I give it a 4/5. Now on to Firestarter.

Now for some spoilers

>!>!Was I the only one who really wanted Sarah and Johnny to get back together? I like their little moment I. The barn, but I was really hoping they would make it work. I still love how the story turned out. I liked the side story of tutoring and the burning of the restaurant. There were a few spots that I felt feel a little flat, like him in the balcony and not being seen; I guess I didn’t understand the layout, but it sounded pretty open to me!<!<
