Should I choose Ashoka BSc Economics & Finance or NMIMS BSc Finance for IB?

I’m deciding between **Ashoka’s BSc Economics & Finance** and **NMIMS Mumbai’s BSc Finance**, and I’m honestly stuck.
My goal is to break into **investment banking/high finance**. I also have a family business that I may eventually join, but my dad wants me to work outside first, so for now I want to build a strong career in finance independently.
The main dilemma is that **NMIMS would allow me to pursue CFA alongside my degree**, whereas I wouldn’t realistically be able to do CFA with Ashoka.
For anyone who’s an **Ashoka/NMIMS student or alum, CFA candidate, or already working in IB/high finance**:
**Which would you choose for breaking into IB, and why?**
Does Ashoka’s network/brand and E&F curriculum outweigh the advantage of being able to do CFA at NMIMS? And how realistic is it to break into IB from either college?
Please give me the brutally honest version, not the “both are good” answer 😭🙏

Need honest reviews from Ashoka students (2027 applicant)

Hey everyone!
I’m currently in **ISC Commerce (Class 12)** and planning to apply for **Ashoka’s 2027 intake** for the **B.Sc. in Economics & Finance**. I’d love some honest opinions from current students, alumni, or even people who chose not to attend.
My long-term goal is to work in **high finance** (IB/PE) before eventually joining my family business and starting one of my own. I genuinely enjoy economics, which is why Ashoka appeals to me.
A few questions:
Is Ashoka really worth it over colleges like **NMIMS, St. Xavier’s, or Jai Hind**?
How are the placements, internships, and alumni network for finance?
What’s the social life actually like? (I’m from a pretty strict family, so living independently is something I’m looking forward to.)
If you got into Ashoka, what do you think helped your application?
Would you choose Ashoka again if you had the chance? I’d really appreciate honest reviews—the good, the bad, and everything in between.

One thing I’m conflicted about is that I’m from Mumbai, and I already have a strong social circle and a life here. For those who moved to Ashoka from another city, did leaving all of that behind feel worth it? Did the campus experience and people make up for it
