Might be a silly question.

Back in the 80's when we had the option of what we called the boom boxes. Did anyone every else discover or do this. The knob control on the boomboxes had the balance control to make it go all left or all right. And sometime when some Monkees songs were played. You could turn knob all left or all right and get a different sound. It varied from song to song. Sometime not at all. Sometime lead vocals would disappear, or drums would sound different. It was never the same on each some songs.

Did anyone else ever discover this and play around with it for fun?

Even found it could be done on some Beatles tracks sometimes with certain songs.

Anyone else notice how the first 1.5 seconds (or so) of Micky Dolenz's new song TERRI has just the slightest sounding of the guitar like That Was Then, This Is Now. (?) I dig these back to back when listening.

Be careful when buying or working from Crate and Barrel as a service repair person.

Long story short. I am a service vendor repair firm in a town where C and B does not have any service people. I was contacted to go do an inspection on a damaged piece of furniture. I followed through. That was on March 5 2026. Invoiced them all the info they needed.

The unit of furniture had missing parts.

Six months later, 27 emails, endless phone calls.

Still no payment.

So heed the warning. I can not recommend anyone buying furniture from C and B as they dont pay there service repair vendors at all.
