Having a social presence as an instructor without being an influencer?

New(ish) teacher here - as I meet clients they ask where they can keep in touch with me to find out when / where I am teaching. I’m a young woman and many in my demographic (and my from my training program) go the fitness influencer route however I don’t think that lifestyle is for me.

For instructors who have a decent social media presence among their clients but don’t consider themselves “influencers”, what kind of content do you post to keep your audience engaged without feeling like you’re putting yourself out there as an influencer.

For clients, what kind of posts matter to you? Or do you just want to see a schedule?

Sorry if this kind of post isn’t allowed - I don’t want to be an influencer at all but sometimes I feel like I have to so people know what I’m up to and I can let people know if I have availability / openings in my classes 😭

Goodbye design?

I think I may be giving up design. I quit my full time job last year to freelance while I went to school to be a fitness instructor. Now that I’m teaching exercise I don’t know if I want to spend my life behind a computer anymore and be stressed 24/7. Torn because I love design but hate the lifestyle, and now I truly love teaching Pilates.

Tired of people treat me like I have an eating disorder

Cutting out sugar & refined carbs from my diet (I still eat whole wheat) has been the best thing I ever did for myself. I used to get shakey with insulin resistance and even threw up from it but after this change I don’t.

But people really act like I just am avoiding sugar and white bread to be ~\skinny\~ which just isn’t the case. No matter how many times I explain it colleagues, friends, or family will be like “just eat the sugar!” And treat me like I have an ED, it just sucks. Rant over lol

DC - Our AirBnB JUST got cancelled -_- Help?

Looking for AFFORDABLE alternate options because the hostel we were staying in just cancelled our reservation due to "overlap bookings". It's looking like we're gonna have to sleep in our car. Any suggestions on where to park/stay? Or cheapish hotel suggestions?

Teachers - drop your favorite class playlists here

New teacher here and would love to hear/see what kind of mixes you are all playing in your classrooms! Also curious if you use different playlists for different populations / classes / etc or if you don’t use music at all!

Thanks 🤍

Where can guests share photos post wedding?

Wedding weekend just passed and everything went well! Want to send a text to family & friends to ask them to share photos they took during the wedding. What’s the best option for this? A shared google drive? iCloud album? Specific party-related service or app?

Cheap/free options preferred!

Tips for first audition tomorrow? 🤞

Got my first audition tomorrow at a mat studio I used to frequent before I got my teacher training! Any and all tips for your first audition welcome + a few questions:

Should I / can I bring notes or is that a no no?
Is it rude to check watch for time?
Tips for teaching in a heated studio? (I know the stigma around hot Pilates, but I’m OK with teaching it)

Any tips welcome!

Guys, I’ve been struggling with my mental health severely for years now, but it’s getting to the point where I can’t ignore it. I’ve been an EXRP therapy for four years and in regular therapy for almost 10, at this point, I know I need medication, but my OCD is convincing me that it will literally kill me or shorten my life.

It’s starting to affect my ability to form relationships with friends and coworkers.

this is something that I feel like I can’t do an exposure for because the result is literal death, and it takes so long to find out. Did anyone struggle with something similar? How did you deal?

I'm about to start applying to studios because I'll finish my training in about a month! Up until now I've worked as a graphic designer. Wondering how to position my resume, if I include all my design experience / education or keep it strictly pilates related?
