I'm pretty sure Linda waited tables at some point before their "Grand Opening"

After a recent re-watch of "Grand Pre-Pre-Pre-Opening" I noticed how comfortable Linda is on their opening day. Bob mentioned in that episode that she'd been working and saving for a condo since she was 15. I'm sure she mainly waited tables before she got that job as a receptionist at the Insurance Company.

What do you think?

Driving Miss Ragey - was the apple a clue?

I laughed so hard when I first saw this episode and Nat threw the apple core out of the window, causing Linda to say, "Someone in my family ate an apple!?!"

Upon a re-watch I wondered if that was a clue that the whole thing was a set up since, good point, Linda, which Belcher would eat an apple?

Running the restaurant when the kids were all under 4

How did they manage with 3 kids - a baby and 2 toddlers? I can't see them affording daycare, Bob needs Linda to wait tables, and I'm almost positive (I hope NOT) Linda's parents weren't the answer so how??

Scammers who "circle back" - FOADIAF

I can take all of the constant scamming with offers of (paid) book clubs, phony publishers, phonier agents, fake media inquiries, offers to make me a Best-Selling-Author™! but when they "circle back to make sure" I saw their e-mail, damn, does it piss me off!

It's like they're saying, "Wow, I was SURE you were stupid and gullible enough to fall for my scam, what gives??"

Emma inviting Mrs. Goddard to Hartfield

Since Emma invites Mrs. Goddard to supper on a regular basis, does that mean we can assumes Mrs. Goddard's father was a gentleman?

It doesn't seem that Emma ever invites other people with whom her father is friendly, who are not gentlefolk (e.g. the Perrys and the Coles) so I'm thinking there has to be a difference with Mrs. Goddard that makes her company more acceptable.

On a related note, won't Emma be required by the rules of good manners to invite the Coles to Hartfield after accepting their invitation to dinner?

Would Maria's scandal hurt Tom's marriage prospects?

I've always figured that Julia married Yates because she knew her father would be severe on his remaining daughter but mainly because the scandal would have doomed her chances with anyone but Yates.

But I've never known if the unequal punishment between men and women JA alluded to would include Tom's prospects. Not that it seems like Tom was in a hurry to marry so I suppose he could wait for the scandal to die down.

Either way I wonder if there would there be families who would forbid their daughters from associating with the Bertram scion?

BookSirens rating vs GoodReads

Has anyone else seen a reviewer leave the same review on GoodReads with a lower star value than the review they posted on the BookSirens site?

I'm puzzled why they'd do that
